What is it with Tines?

I can't get one, even with Parateor... What is it with them? Tines and Onnies have gained a cult following, I guess you can say. There's a topic dedicated to 'Tines ❤️' and a club... it makes me feel kind of like a loner, if you know what I mean. They have 'mates' and 'siblings', and I don't get why's it's exclusively with Tines - I barely see that with Brohus or Luvleis, for example. I don't wanna be a wet blanket, and I know I could have taken it better, but I want to know - 'What is it with Tines?' Why are they considered more rare than Luvleis? Why did I even bother posting this topic? Why am I asking questions?

No, seriously, though. What is it with Tines?

Maybe its cause people like them so much, you know they are keeping them to themselves. So when the people WITH tines come on here they can show off with the little cuties.

Don't get me wrong I know quite a few users don't show off about anything but there are always a few that start off clubs just for the sake of it

Might just be another fad that will pass sooner or later though, there are going to be more LE's and they might get a LOT more popular than tines

It's the fact that Tines were the first Valentine creatures and only available for a short time. Afterwards, some died and that made them just even rarer than they already were.
Add the fact that they're really cute which is why everybody wants one.

I have the conspiracy theory! I doubt it's a fad - Tines I have here for a while... and people are finding mates for them and siblings. Honestly I don't get it, and very few people are willing to give them up. There are more trades for Parets than Tines, and do you know how rare those Parets are? -_- I find it annoying, since most of the newbies are caught up in jealousy, and since the oldies are unwilling to give them up for the sake of kindness (my Olimpt was given to me because I asked) I predict a lot of quitting in the future. It's very motivational that you know that you're NEVER going to get your dream creatures, no matter how many good ones you have. In fact, sometimes you may end up paying $25 for one measly creature which should have been free (of money that is)

Things are getting out of hand with the trades, but why are people falling into the traps people set. It is rediculous to waste that much money on a virtual thing that will just die at any time 0_0

I wouldn't EXPECT people to. It's not being selfish, it's called wanting to keep those pets.

Sure, now they aren't that many left, but if it's stupid to waste money on creatures, wouldn't it be stupid to get depressed over not having it????

I know right! This depresses me, since I can't afford to do that, since I have better ways to invest my money, such as games I actually LIKE to play and where people like to SHARE. *coughdisneystoontownonlinecough* Sometimes, I can't see Egg Cave any more. I just see a pit of greed. If we change our ways now, life will be better for future generations, and if all people were willing to share, there will be no terrorists or thieves - we would be a step closer towards utopia.

Well, I don't expect people to GIVE them to me - but I am offering a Paret, and it depresses me that look down towards them in comparisons to Tines and that the families of Tines make it worse - it feels that people are boasting, although it may not be necessarily true.

Just take the trading post and looking at the wants for Tines. More Tines. Some unachievable Onny. No specification and just want. I don't like to think of Egg Cave that way ☹️ I'd like to think of it more positively. I know some people are taking it better than me, but considering the same people who are advocating gifting are also advocating the coveting of Tines... yeah... that's sad. ☹️

I'm not sure what it is with ANY creature personally, but I think with Tines, these two items factor in the most:

1.) They're rare. They were only out in the Cave for TWO days! I know a lot of people tried their best to get as many as they could so that everyone could have one, but when you only have 20 attempts... Plus, I know that since they were released, a number of them have died. Doesn't it make you angry when you find out that someone let a rare creature die, especially when you really want one for yourself?

2.) They're really cute! I think they're one of the more creatively drawn characters on this site. Their second stage in particular is just plain adorable and the egg and final stages are really pretty. 😸 The first stage is kinda creepy though IMO haha.

Anyway, those are my thoughts. Hope that made sense! 😊
