Species search on the search box

I think that you should be able to do a search for certain species on the search box as the searches for users and creatures that are already on there.

People put things UFT and UFA, but its not on the trading post. Looking for a species search can make it easier for people to look at someones profile with the creature they want and see if it is UFT or UFA.

This was mine and @maineen's idea

I mostly like this idea. 😊

I would feel a little bad for the super-quiet coves and storage accounts out there (the ones that don't want much activity/feeds/views) that tuck away things like Florn eggs and similar rares. You know, those *secretive* collectors - we've all stumbled across amazing barely-known coves! Anyway, since 90% of the species searches will be for ultra-rares... I'd feel kind of bad for the view-shy rare collectors. ☹️

maybe then there could also be a option like if you want your eggies to be seen or not from the species search box, it could be in the preferences page

Good idea @maineen.

I think it would be a good idea to have an option on the preference page where you could decide if you wanted people to be able to see your eggs. Though I think that of the person on your profile is your friend then they should be able to see all your eggs.

Anyone else like the idea of a species search?????????

@lily- @maineen

This is a great idea, but the only potential issue I see with it is that people could just start searching by species and bombarding those users with super rare creatures. The reality is: if a creature is REALLY up for trade, it should be in the Trade Center and you can search by species there. And if a person is truly interested in trading one of their creatures but doesn't want to put it in the TC... that doesn't quite compute with me.

Let me know if you have any more thoughts. I'm still open to this, but this is my initial reaction.

@Ian

Yes there is that issue, but then couldn't there be an option in the preference page which allows the user to stop other people from searching their creatures. (not including what I have said on my previous post, that wasn't a good idea, because some people have lots of friends, that they may not want to be bombarded by)

i agree with @ian , the spamming and trading problem could be the next potentiol reason for many quitters ☹️

@candy_girl_1298

that is true, which is why I think there should be an option on the Preferences page where you can choose not to be included in the species search, so people can't search your creatures if you don't want them to.
