I remember when my sister got a fish as a prize at school, and then it died the next day... :'( I cried, and my sister locked herself up in her room. V.V

Observe it when it eats, it may be gulping to much air when eating 😉 If this seems to be the trouble, pour the food in a cup of water instead, and pour the cup into the tank so that the food goes straight into the water (not floating) Thats what happened to Scarlet, a Red and WHite Fantail, she passed recently from infection
