...Alright, I'll stop trying to help...-.-
cqpkytty • 30 September 2012 at 4:26 PM
@piucca...after a few days/weeks?I've always been like this, my parents stopped cuddling with me when I was like 10/11, I'm 13 now, I still find it harder to get to sleep when I'm by myself.
piucca • 30 September 2012 at 4:30 PM
@cqpkyttyCuddling you to sleep?Well it is their fault for coddling you for so long.Reminds me of the women who still breast feeds her 12 and 14 year old...Sometimes you need to cut the strings a little sooner.Parents seem to be looking to hold on to their children too long, keeping them children and not teaching them to live. You will get over it, seems some people take longer than others. You might also have to Want to get over it. EDIT:People stop cuddling their children to sleep at around 2-4 years old.Even four is a tad old.
cqpkytty • 30 September 2012 at 4:43 PM
@piuccaNo, it wasn't like that đMy parents never really cuddled every night, and they wouldn't stay until I fell asleep. But when they did, it was somewhere from maybe 10 to 15 minutes. Later on they only came in when I asked them to. But, they would just stay for like 2, maybe 3 minutes. Then a few years after that, they would come in less often, even when I asked reeeally nicely it was maybe once in a month or two, then they just stopped. đ(and BTW it was never both at once.)
piucca • 30 September 2012 at 4:51 PM
@cqpkyttyAlright, and you now have issues? It is more likely because of your age.Your body is going through a lot right now and will continue to do some crazy stuff.Females between the ages of 14-18 will sleep less and sleep more.Less at night and more during the morning/afternoon.It will correct it's self after high school ^.~Ages that this happens have been gearing towards younger people the past few years (15-20 years)It is just a time in your life that might seem like forever, but will pass quickly đ
cqpkytty • 30 September 2012 at 4:57 PM
@piuccaThat's weird đ I usually fall asleep around 10: 30, wake up somewhere from 6-7 đ(I go to bed at 9: 30)
icymuffin • 30 September 2012 at 4:57 PM
@izzfredActually, I think you should give writing down, as piucca said what you find to be the problem a try. I personally think it helps. You'll have to face the problem and fix it rather than just finding another means of letting it continue on in your life :I@piuccaBut the thing is, teenagers [and younger children] naturally want sleep more in the early mornings and less at night. That's why they're always sleepy at school in the morning, I suppose c:

piucca • 30 September 2012 at 5:12 PM
@cqpkyttyCould be that you are a late bloomer.đ Soon enough all will sort its self out.You just have to work through it for now.@icymuffinThat is what I just said, but thanks ^^:

Posted a huge reply to this. I wonder where it went D:

@izzfred hey sorry to hear about your problem. Not trying to be rude or anything but its not insomnia that you have . Insomnia is just the chronic inability to sleep whether you are with someone or not. I do think that maybe you just didn't get the chance to become independent . I do agree with the people that are saying that you should try to just sleep alone. Do you have a tv in your room? When I was younger I had the same problem. I never had my own room growing up and then once I did, I realized that I couldnt fall asleep alone. So maybe try putting a tv on but put the volume really low so that it doesnt catch your attention, thats what helped me anyway. If you cant do that then maybe try reading until you pass out XD I still do that lol

@unknownangelsI do have insomnia. I still have trouble getting to sleep even when i'm with my parents. My parents even say I have insomnia and my mom would know because she's had it before.
unknownangels • 30 September 2012 at 8:59 PM
@izzfred oh okay ^^ i thought you just meant you had trouble sleeping alone. I dont know how old taking sleeping aids is safe for......but maybe see a doctor then?
Deleted • 30 September 2012 at 9:00 PM
@unknownangels I take melatonin.
unknownangels • 30 September 2012 at 9:07 PM
@izzfred =/ hmmm you think maybe that theres something actually keeping you up? like stress? and im sure your parents understand but if maybe do something nice for them ? maybe that will make you not feel as bad
lynncrow • 30 September 2012 at 9:16 PM

Uh...I'm pretty sure insomnia is when you just can't get to sleep very well at all, or when you sleep you don't sleep well. Insomnia, I'm pretty sure, isn't where you can't sleep by yourself...

@izzfred Don't worry. I've been sleeping with my mom for most of my life. I've been too afraid to admit it. I've always been criticized most my life. In the winter time, I get too cold and my body heat just drops to zero. I can't produce more heat so eventually, I just freeze and my kneecaps with just freeze in place. My mom has to sleep with me. She's actually glad that she doesn't have to sleep with my dad. I've slept with him. He snores and smells weird. I sometimes want to yell at my parents for how I just have to sleep with them. They've done everything they can. They once bought a heated mattress. You put it on the mattress and under the sheets and plug it in and press the button and it heats up your bed. The trouble is, you can sleep with it on or else you'll get burned or something worse. Even if you did turn it off, the heat will go away. It's really hard sleeping with my mom. She yells at me for tossing and turning. I have this thing that doesn't allow me to sleep right away. It keeps me up for hours. @piucca I know what you mean. I also have to adjust to a new place and it takes at least two days. With the thing that keeps my brain awake, my parents tried to play some of those music but it doesn't help at all. I've been having sleep troubles a lot. @izzfred don't worry. You're not the only one.

@izzfredYou could also try drawing for a long time, whenever I'm trying to sleep way too many drawing ideas come into my mind and I start drawing, but then I get really tired and bored so I go to sleep, maybe you should try it.It could also be from how you're growing up, girls that are going into their teen years always tend to have a little stress and their emotions are stronger, and also since your growing taller and your body is growing to make you ready for adulthood you can ache a lot.Even sometimes in the moring you could get a little exercise to make you really tired for the night and you'll fall asleep quickly. You could also be staying up too late, if you stay up too late and go to sleep in like 1:00 AM, then you're body will think this is you're normal time to go to sleep and will not want to go to sleep when you're supposed to.I hope my babbling helped. ^^'

@izzfredI never knew that was a sickness or something! I hate sleeping alone. I can DO it, but I'm afraid of the dark.. âšī¸

@snowball888111 you're not the only one who's afraid of the dark.@jennifer sometimes I cry because I feel like I'm making it hard for my parents.@candyluver6789 I suck at drawing. Everything.
han • 1 October 2012 at 8:16 PM
@izzfredI saw your status, too âšī¸ Don't worry, it was just a dream!
Deleted • 1 October 2012 at 8:18 PM
@snowball888111First my dog died and we buried her underneath the floor by the couch and the couch became haunted. Then we rode up to the school roof on chairlifts and jumped through it into our classroom. While I was on the charilift with my friend I saw my dance teacher Mrs.Caulder and my French teacher Madame Demory.
han • 1 October 2012 at 8:26 PM
@izzfredOoh... I have weird dreams too.
Deleted • 1 October 2012 at 8:28 PM
@izzfredListening to soft music or watching something helps me to fall asleep. Listening to rain falling, ocean waves, you can find all kinds of different sounds on youtube for a nice soothing affect to fall asleep with. Also when you close your eyes just think that there's an angel watching over you, like you'll feel calm and relaxed. They watch over you while you sleep.

@izzfred I used to have trouble sleeping too. I had this really weird dream when I was little thats so embarrassing when I talk about it.My mom bought me a big grey tabby I named smokey. Back then he was the best cat in the world, sleeping with me all the time! Now he's really old and fat and not as cuddly as he used to be when he was a kitten. But after sleeping with him for one night I never had that dream again đ
puppyloverlauren • 4 October 2012 at 7:57 PM
@cqpkytty @izzfred I use to sleep in the same bed as my sister, but now I sleep alone. I feel awkward and "not safe" I also can't sleep until like 1 hour later. But my sister always kicks me in her sleep and puts her hand under my back and it makes me really annoyed.
nkiay • 4 October 2012 at 8:02 PM
@izzfred insomnia means you don't sleepdoesn't mean you can't sleep alone
Deleted • 5 October 2012 at 9:52 AM
@nkiay I do have insomnia. I honestly just have trouble sleeping. ---
