Jessica too busy to worry about what was happening cut the rabbit meat up into strips. Turning around she saw that the other girl had almost ruined the meat, but not completely. Jessica went over to help see if she could save some of it.

Taking her own knife she silently showed a way to cut the almost ruin meat, and then went back to her own work. After putting the strips of meat on a stick for each strip she put them over the fire, supporting them was a make shift rack.

Done with that Jessica started with the brains of the sheep. She learned this outside of the game that the brain of animal, when turned into a semi-liquid, will cover the pelt. @jupiter_hollow

That girl was skilled when it came to preserving the meat. But, it could've been her own lack of attention that caused her to ruin the meat.

As the meat cooked, an aroma filled the air along with this silence. "I've never heard a silence quite so loud," she whispered aloud. She looked around at everyone, worn out and tired. "So, why'd you guys choose this game to play?"

At least she would try to brighten the mood.

Silently watching the two bickker and then help each other, Xans had kept his quiet for a while, skinning the animal as quickly as possible and with as less contact as possible (he regretted being vegeterian), he set the squirrel down, taking a comfortable place near the fire and finally parting lips to break the loud silence, as the girl had named it. However, he was cut off by her question and quieted down again.

He didn't know why he'd chosen the game whatsoever. Probably because of the violence. Naturally, he was a die-hard peacelover, but when it came to games, he enjoyed slaughtering pixelated game characters and all that...

"No reason. Just for fun I guess... Didn't think everything would be so savage though." he admitted to being unprepared.

"What would you expect from something taking place during the medieval times?" she retorted back to him. It was obvious that if he didn't expect the violence, that he didn't really pay attention in history. "I picked this game because of the violence."

She picked up a piece of cooked meat and took a bite, then tossed another one at Xans and the girl, "Eat while ya' can."

Then she realized, she didn't know the girl's name. "Oh yeah-" she looked at the girl - "You. What's your name?"

Jessica looked up for minute spreading the mushy pink slime over the inside of the pelt. She hadn't thought of why she played the game, and then it hit her, though she wasn't going to say it.

"Make sure you save the brain of the animal." She steering off the topic. Jessica was wondering about something. It happened after she found Xans, and the other two people.

"People aren't returning after they lose their last life. On other games I've played, they do, just start of the game though." Jessica paused for a moment wiping off the slime from her hands.

"Do you think something went wrong?"

"Something might be wrong," she stated, "But I highly doubt it. They wouldn't send us in here if all we could face if we lost was the unavoidable death." She laughed, the most serious things made her laugh. It made her feel stupid, cause Xans and the girl were probably wonder why she was laughing at a serious subject.

"I don't know, but try to keep your lives." Jessica went back to the other question, "Jessica." She put more pieces of meat on the rack taking of the fully cooked ones. "Save some of the food, in this game you don't know when you'll eat again. Also, here's some mint and other edible plants and fruits." She said distributing them out.

At the girl's retort he chuckled slightly. "Hunting and running, that's what I didn't expect. I came for sword fights, not caves and camp fires." he bit the meat absentmindedly.

His head snapped to Jessica at the sound of her voice. He frowned inwardly. "I don't find anything different. And truth be told, I'm with her on that one. They wouldn't have made us play this game if it meant dying." he said, more to himself than to the others. He'd been worried about that too, that's why he'd been nervous.

"Human errors, human errors," Claria. whispered. "Errors are going to happen once in a while. And and error while we're stuck in here won't be good."

She looked around, the atmosphere here was full of wary, at everyone surrounding the fire. Jessica poked at the meat with a stick, Xans just remained silent and ate. She, though, was talking to them, and not in a nice mood for the subject of conversation.

Having quieted down for a while, Xans finally looked up from the meat he was chewing on, looking over both girls which sat nearby. Jessica was fiddling with the cooked meat, seemingly lost in her mind - he was sure the errors she spoke about bothered her. The mentioning of them bothered him too, but he had no desire to voice his fears. Claria sat next to him, looking distraught and somewhat flustered - to him she seemed to be uncommofrtable remaining in the silence that heavily hung in the air. So, for everyone's sake, he decided to break it (and did so in the stupidest way possible).

"I think it blinked at me..." he eyed the squirrel's head warily, nudging it's wide open eyes with a pointed stick, standing a good distance away from it.

"This game is as realistic and medevil as possible, I seriously doubt the squirrel head blink at y-" Jessica was cut off by the sound of a strong voice talking. It sounded powerful, full of pride, snotty. "Quickly go behind the house, I'll get my horse and distract them. I know him and it's not good news, be as quiet as possible." Her voice was low.

"No way it-" Jessica cut her off. Claria grabbed Xans by the arm and literally dragged him across the ground, running as quick as possible. But he was actually somewhat lightweight, or she was just strong.

Running, the worried thoughts about Jessica stormed her mind, while dragging Xans across the ground. She heard yelling, bicker, and horse hooves gallop across the dry soil, the vibrations traveling across the ground.

As they reached the end of the home, Claria realized that she had blanked out on Xans. He could've been talking to her and she didn't notice. Her hand still gripped his arm, and her biceps ached. She let go and his arm fell to the ground. And she looked down at him. "Are you okay?" But she was more worried about Jessica than anybody else at the moment.

Jessica quickly got into her amour, running out of the house and jumping on the horse. She ran out of the cave and yelled. Her voice was masked by echoing.

"Come at me!" She said as they turned and started running at her. A fierce kick sent her horse running dodging arrows and jumping over fallen trees.

"Get up Xans," she mumbled under her breath, looking down at the boy.

Eventually, after pacing in circles for about 5 minutes, she climbed up a tree and sat high in the branches, trying not to be seen. She pulled an arrow from her quiver and placed it in position with her bow to quickly shoot at anyone if she needed.

Having been standing silently crouched on the ground fo the past few minutes, Xans finally implied to get up and jump into battle, drawing out the sword he didn't know he had. The blade was long and well-crafted... but not pixelated. Taking a few seconds to get oer this shock, Xans shook his head, pouncing on the first person he could see, which so happened to be the man who had been speaking before.

Claria saw Xans get up and run infront of the shed. "Oh that idiot, he's gonna lose a life." she said under her breath. She began to quickly scramble down the tree, hopping from branch to branch. When she was low enough to the ground, she jumped off, landing in a sprint towards the front of the shed.

She raised up her bow as she was running, and sent an arrow flying through the air, hitting an enemy in the back of the neck. He collapsed to the ground and was dead in moments. Claria had had perfect aim at the spinal cords.

Looking through the corner of her eye she saw Xans fighting another man. Jessica and her horse were gone. Claria just assumed that some of the kings men had followed her. Then in the back of her mind, something clicked. The point of this videogame was to overtake the king and the rule the kingdom. And she had thought of a plan to do so.

She fell to her knees and screamed out, "I surrender." This was only the beginning of her plan.

Jessica horse was wounded and fell on the girl crushing her right leg, yet not losing a life. The knights, who were in black, and smiled, taking off Jessica's helmet almost gasping as her long silky hair and ocean blue eyes, gave her away.

"A girl!" One announced gasping as Jessica held a strong face and hopefully was not shedding tears, because of the pain. Though one of the knights took his helmet off and looked familiar.

Slashing his way through the array of knights, Xans was nearing the center where jessica was located when two yells made him jolt.

One was a girl's voice that he knew all too well - Claria, which screamed that she surrendered. At this, he spun around, ready to go back, but suddenly, anoher screech cut off his train of thought - it was a knight announcing that he'd come across a girl. Frowning, Xans found himself torn between the two girls, wondering who to aid first. Since Jessica was closest to him (just a few feet away), he rushed to behead the knight holding her down.

The knights paused and stared at her, baffled. "I surrender," Claria repeated out again. She put her arrows back in her quiver, and laid the bow on the ground.

One grabbed her bow and snapped in half with his knee. It was sad to see that. She yanked on her arms and threw her into their wagon. She looked back at Xans, and mouthed out, 'This is just my plan'.

This plan was to get into the kingdom's power, find out their weaknesses, then use it against them.

Jessica breathing heavily as the knight holding her down put a knife to her neck she closed her eyes tightly. There was a brief moment, but then she felt like nothing was on her anymore as the knight rolled to the side lifeless and beheaded. The girl still struggled however to get her leg out from under the now lifeless horse.

Pausing in his tracks to look at Claria, Xans took a second to decode her message and then gave a curt nod, still keeping an eye on her, but bent down to help Jessica. Grasping the horse's corpse, he gave a roar, lifting the dead weight with strenght he never knew he'd had.
"Hurry, more are coming." his hearing had detected more galloping horses going towards the clearing.

A knight came and helped up Jessica she started to fight back, but when looking at him a bit more closely she smiled. The young knight helped her onto a black horse jumping on after her, giving the horse a swift kick sending it running, leaving Xans behind. Jessica turned back and mouthed 'sorry' to him.

The wagon began to move. And some knight tied Claria's hands behind her back. She assumed Jessica was okay, but she wasn't sure. She just hoped all would go well for Jessica and Xans.
