-WELCOME-You know the one same character which you always use for different roleplays? Yes, that one. Well, this is a place where you can expand on a character you commonly use. Make your two dimensional character become three dimensional, realistic and pop out the screen. There is a reason why you are asked to create a character at the beginning of every roleplay. Typing up a roleplay post is very different to writing a story in that it is entirely character driven. It is the character who decides what it happen next and what would affect the course of upcoming events in the plot. I can guarantee you that roleplaying is nearly always about the character and less about the plot. Most of this will be covered in this guide. Feel free to PM me, or post on my wall if you feel that I should add something.DISCLAIMER: This is just a GUIDE to making the ideal character. My word is not law. Most, if not all, of this guide was taken from my own experiences.#wolfmilk#guide#character#characterguide#roleplay#roleplayguide#analysis

-FOREWORD-This guide would be covering most, if not all, aspects of character creation, excluding magical sections. As you may all know, not all sections are needed in first creating forms on Eggcave roleplays. Personally, I have never seen a "Likes/dislikes" section needed to be completed out, but it's there if one day, Eggcave roleplays become more and more advanced.Making a character can be extremely complex, taking up a couple of hours. Nothing irks me more than seeing a form hastily put together with only a few words filling out each section, for the sake of being filled out. This guide is more directed at new roleplayers, but advanced and experienced roleplayers can still use this guide, if only to check up on something.Feel free to link other fellow roleplayer to this guide, either by pinging or giving them a hastag.#foreword

-BASICS-NAME: The name is important because that's the one you'll be using for the rest of your roleplay. Choose a name which you are comfortable with. It does not need to be otherworldly. It can be something simple, like 'Dylan' or 'George'. If you're out of ideas, try googling for some. When I can't think of anything, I go on google translate and find some Latin, Chinese pinyin, phonetic Japanese, Greek words that sound cool. 8)NICKNAME: Does your character go by any aliases or nicknames? Do their parents call them 'sweetie'? Their friends call them 'Fang'? Their girlfriend/boyfriend 'honey', 'darling' etc.?GENDER: Forget about stereotypes and stick to what gender you believe your character should be.AGE: Realistically, people from around 16 and down have not much real world experience. They would suffer through great trauma when dealing with a death or the loss of a loved one. They would have teenage hormones, seeing the opposite gender as a possible love interest, albeit unconscious. If they're in their adult years, they'd have more real world experience. Perhaps have combat skills? If your character is a child, 12 and downwards, would they be as energetic? Playful? Naive?OCCUPATION: I don't expect to see too many forms with this section filled out. Most roleplays here on eggcave are centred around the teenage years. But for your occupation, think about what your character would be? A nerdy researcher? Energetic basketballer? Inspiring musician?#basics

-APPEARANCE-PHYSIQUE: height? weight? body frame? (lithe, slender, muscular, average, overweight, anorexic )EYES: Describe the colour of the eyes and the shape of the eyes. Slanted, rectangular? Wide eyed, innocent, curious? Shaped in a permanent frown? Some say the eyes are the windows to the soul. Is your character's soul black with evil? Is it red with blood thirst? Multicoloured due to ethereal causes? HAIR: Describe the colour and appearance of the hair. Tidy? Untidy? Helmet hair? Bed hair? Think about the length. Down to waist, chest, shoulders etc.?CLOTHING: What does your character normally wear? Casually and/or formally. Start from bottom and word your way up, or vice versa. Don't jump from gloves to glasses. Some articles of clothing to think about are: shoes (boots, sandals etc.), pants, cloaks, capes, shirts, vests, tuxedo, robes, glasses (goggles, sunglasses etc.), scarfs, jewellery (necklace, rings, earrings, wrist bands) etc. Are they embroidered, ornamental, tattered, shabby etc?ABNORMALITIES: Any scars, piercings, tattoos? A pair of cat ears and a long slinky tail? Have wings (leather bat, fluffy feathery, delicate insect)?#appearance

-PERSONALITY-This is often the most important part of all forms, but also the most neglected. To create the ideal character, you'd have to treat like how they are. Unless they are a guardian from a celestial planet with no communication with other beings or something of the like, everyone should be like a real person. Someone with feelings, hopes, dreams, likes, dislikes etc. Even demons. Even a wandering spirit who possesses others to live and stay on Earth.POSITIVE TRAITS: What makes your character likeable? Are they determined? Loyal? Friendly? Open? Confident? Easy going? A strong feeling of justice?NEGATIVE TRAITS: What makes your character hateable? Are they revenge driven? Sadistic? Closed? Aloof? Disobedient? Cowardly? Nobody is perfect and everyone has their flaws. LIKES: What makes your character smile? Do they like ice cream? Friends? Books? Knowledge? Magic? Animals? Sucking blood? Being rebellious? Pain and suffering?DISLIKES: What makes your character turn away in disgust? Vegetables? Technology? Ignorance? Humans themselves? Full moon? Vampires? Blood?#personality

-ENRICHMENTS-STRENGTHS: How is your character powerful? Do they have night vision? Have they got many friends? Unaffected about others' opinions? A fit athlete? Stray away from mary sues and gary stus.WEAKNESSES: What would make your character back away? Fear of spiders? Hatred of vegetables. Antisocial? Do not go too overboard. Nobody was born emo or a weakling.DREAMS: What hopes/dreams/goals does your character have? What do they wish to have? Be the world's champion pianoist? The world's supreme ruler?#enrichments

-HISTORY-What made your character the person who s/he is today? What caused their fears and goals? How did it affect their personality? There are many areas to put into consideration. Were they bullied and thus antisocial? Spoilt and thus greedy and jealous? Beaten up and thus revenge driven? If applicable, what type of school did they attend? A lady collage? A military school? Home schooled and thus no interaction with people of their own age? Was it a good education? Did it make them a respectable adult?Did they experience some inspirational and/or life changing moment? An emotional song/performance? A death of a loved one? A passing comment by a stranger?Their family. Any siblings? Single parents? Pets? How were they treated? With care? Neglect for business purposes? Abused by alcoholics? Out-of-hand sibling rivalry? Raised by an evil serial killer? The son of a corrupted king and next in line to the throne? The one angel forced to fall love with a demon? What were their relationships with others? Were they parts of gangs, research groups, book clubs, and/or music orchestras? What about enemies, rivals, allies, love interests? What type of home did they live in? A slave house, circus, poor house, city, mansion, palace, lighthouse by the sea, forest/jungle/mountains, different planet, the heavenly skies, vampire lair, werewolf den, underwater mermaid city?#history

@wolfmilk I'll always remember you! :') You're one of the people I've always looked up to. And I hate do admit it, but at one time, competing with you were the reason I continued Roleplaying. 😊 It sounds silly, but I've always wanted to be as good as you and followed your suit of roleplaying, taking everything you advised me to heart. I adore chatting to you, not only roleplaying. I love our PMs and messages.I'll always love you Wolfmilk! ❤️33

@wolfmilk This is so helpful! I'm literate, but I always need a little help with the forum, and developing my char. I know usually try to use one character (Jessica), unless it's a supernatural role play or something like that.
