It took a good few seconds for the man to realize just who was here talking to him. When he did though, he jumped slightly. He hadn't forgotten the circumstances of when he first saw this girl, and they weren't exactly suspicion free.

Ignoring her question, he blurted out, "Just who are you anyway?"

"Really? I would've thought that you would've figured that out by now, or do you not look at the wanted posters of me EVERYWHERE." Jessica gave a small laugh, and looked down at her feet.

"I've taken better pictures. Anyway, I'm Jessica Roe."

He gave a small glare, "Excuse me for giving you the oppertunity to properly intrduce yourself... Well to be honest, I don't actively follow the stories of any wanted criminals so perhaps you could refresh my memory as to what the authorities are after you for?"

"Nothing, overly dramatic. I didn't kill anyone, well I think I didn't..." Jessica trailed off into thought and then smiled. "Kidding! No, but it's just a few hundred," she muttered the last word million so he couldn't hear.

"Now, it's time for you to tell me how you are so you don't get beaten to a bloody pulp if you go back down that way. Also, the kid said you had some answers to why we were bitten, and why not any of the adults ten years ago." Jessica said.

"Doesn't matter now, I barely have a penny to my name. Speaking of which what's yours?" The girl was clearly annoyed and tried to keep her temper down.

He frowned a bit. He wasn't sure he could trust this girl with that that she wasn't telling him. Did he really want these kinds of people on his side? But that shouldn't matter anyway. I mean, he can't pass judgement too quickly just because some of the bitten aren't perfect.

With a sigh, he takes out his wallet and hands her a contact card, "You can call me Eric. And this is all the contact information you'll ever need."

Jessica takes the card and studies it closely. Her finger traced the design of the card, the letters, everything about it. She suddenly looked up and smiled warmly. The girl was clearly happy to know him, but had an uncertain look in her eyes.

"Your earlier question...you swear I can trust you and you won't, you know, turn me in." Jessica said hopeful.

He thought for a moment, "Well you're too young to be doing anything like this. I doubt prison would be suitable for you, so I won't turn you in. However, I might not exactly agree with whatever you're doing."

"I don't agree with myself." A tear slowly ran down her face as she looked back down at her feet. There was a long silence before she said anything else.

"Million."

"So you steal? Why not just get a job and work like everyone else?" He questioned. Though it sounded rude, he was merely trying to get information. He didn't understand Jessica, but he sort of wanted to.

I sigh, bored with watching the two, and turn, flying off towards the forest at top speed, giving a whoop of laughter and excitement. I soon make it to the foreest and land carefully in a tall willow tree, frowning as a few of my lower feathers is torn off.
"Oww..." I mutter, pulling my wing in front of me to see the damage. I sigh as bright red blood starts to drip out. Frowning, I tear a peice of my shirt off and ball it up then press it to the wound to stop the bleeding.

Two small knives flew through the air and hit the tree near Aphrodite's head. They were pretty small and resembled throwing knives one would use for quiet assassination. A small and quick yell was heard over to her left.

Kai stood in shock that she had landed on the tree he was practicing with. He was thankful that he didn't hit her accidently, then realized she was the woman he saw at the fast food place before. "Uh. Hi?" He said rather casually.

Jessica sighed and frowned. "I used to, but he. He said it would be okay. Then he just left when they came." Memories flooded her head as she spoke, but she held her tears in.

I glance to my left, seeing the knives and my eyes widen. I then turn to the boy who spoke to me, my eyes still wide. I'm silent for a moment before completely freaking out. "You!! You could've taken my HEAD OFF!!! You coulda cut my eye or had one of the blades go straight through my skull!!!" I screech, jumping down. I finish my rant and stand still, regarding the boy quietly.

He backed up a little when she came towards him yelling. Boy, did she get mad, he thought. Drops of sweat appeared along his neck and he could feel his heart racing. "I'm sorry!" He blurted out in a nervous tone, "I was just practicing and then out of no where- "WOOSH" you came down! Be happy I didn't actually hit you, miss!" Afterall, it was her fault she flew down in the tree, right?

I blink my eyes and put on a puppy-eyed look. One that asked for forgiveness and said that it was all my fault. "You're right... It was might fault.. Though I already tore several feathers out." I say, bringing my wing in front of me. The white strip of cloth from my shirt is bright red from blood and I frown, removing it gently.
I start grumbling about how feathers can be such a pain, absorbed so much in my thoughts that I give a yell of pain with I press too hard on the bleeding spot. "Ow." I mutter, glaring at my wing. I look back at the boy and give him an apologic smile. "I shouldn't have yelled... It was my fault for landing there.."

Kai was surprisenly sweet and nice about the whole situation as well. "That's fine." He laughed slightly, "It just scared me when you just- well, you know." He saw her wing with the blood, looking a little worried for her. He walked over to her to get a better look in the dark, showing more of his sweet looking face and cute features. "You going to be okay?" He asked her, frowning.

"I-I-I-I......" A deep scarlet blush spreads on my face and I take a small step back, not used to having anyone care about me getting hurt. "I'm fine.." I say quietly, watching him carefully, my face still bright red.

I relax my wing a bit more, allowing him to get a better look as I move so that the moon was shining on it. I look at it and flinch, looking away. It was always a pain to have feathers torn out, and it wasn't very plesant.

He could see the blush but chose to ignore it for various reasons, mostly to not have her angry with him for pointing it out. "I'm not really a doctor on wings." He admitted, "To be honest, I'm...not really a doctor on anything. But first time for everything, right?" He took a rag out of his pocket and carefully wrapped up the wound on her wing. While he worked, he decided to spark up a conversation, "So. You're bitten right? Me too! What's you're name? I'm Kai~"

I hiss in pain, but quickly cover it up with a short laugh. "I.. My name's Aphrodite. It's nice to meet you.." I say, looking around. "Thanks for wrapping that up for me. I don't have anything to bandage it with."

"What were you bitten by?" I ask him, hoping the topic wasn't too personal.

He looked over at her for a short moment, "I think they said...Cat? Yea, a cat. It was when I was really young, so I don't remember too well. Heh." He finally finished wrapping it, tying the ends of the rag in a small knot.

I nod knowingly and pull my wing in. I hold my wings loose, letting them relax. "Interesting.. So do you have some mutation or something? I've heard that a few of the bitten have some super powers or something. All I have are these wings..." I say with a short laugh.

"I think they look cool~" He said to her.

Then, he walked away from the tree she was near and turned back around. He pushed himself forward and ran up the side of the tree, grabbing the two knives he threw into it's bark. They torn out of the tree and he fell back to the hard ground on his feet. Holding both of them in one of his hands, he turned them into a small chained necklace. "I can control metallic substances through touch."

My eyes widen in amazement and I take a small step closer, though I stop, timid, much like a small bird. "Woah... That's... interesting?" I say, unable to think of the correct word. "So.. That necklace.. Was.. Knives just a few seconds ago?" I ask, tilting my head sideways.

Kai smiled at her, happy to slightly boast about his abilities. "Well, not JUST a necklace," He started, "I can make it into whatever I want really. Here!" He broke the necklace in half with his hands turning one of the halfs into a ring. He handed the finished product to her, "You can keep that. Think of it as some nice souvenir for us just happening to knock into one another." Afterwards, he fused the two ends of the other half of necklace together to make an even smaller chained bracelet. He put the bracelet around his wrist, "And maybe...to see eachother in the future, eh Aphrodite?"

"Oh! Thank you," I say with a smile. "And.. maybe... I'm not sure though. I've had to keep moving around because I don't have any place to stay, even for a couple days. So, you might see me, or you might not.. Depends on if I can find somewhere to live for a little bit." I shake out my wings and press them tight against my back before slipping on my jacket.
