@whitescales @ems Argentum swooped around, looking for-Aha. A mountain lion. That would work. She slowly flew down, keeping downwind. The poor feline didn't know that instead of being a predator, he was prey. He was stalking a snow hare, who seemed paralyzed from fear. She smirked. Dinnertime. She shot down, her claws out. She gripped the lion tightly, cleanly snapping it's neck with pressure. She realized the fur might prove useful for warmth, so instead of tearing it apart, she brought it back to the camp. Alexis tried throwing rocks and bones at the scale, but nope, didn't budge. The only thing that worked was another dragon scale, but they were so big and bulky, it was hard to use as a tool. Subconsciously, she heard the others coming back, but she ignored it as she tried to shape the armor.

@leafpelt @whitescales--"To conserve our wood, we ought to wait until everyone's back." Din replied, and Storm groaned. "You're so impatient." Djin laughed lightly, and Storm smile a bit. "Yeah yeah, whatever. I'm napping." Storm layed onto the soft grass and stared at the sky as the pink and orange hues of the sunset began to stretch across it. "Mmm. It's so pretty..." She murmured. "That it is." Djin nodded in agreement, curling around Storm. "I'll keep watch." The dragon said, but the girl was fast asleep.

@leafpelt @emsKire and Leigha swooped in for a landing as the first stars started to blink in the sky. Kire yawned, "So much work, we really got a lot done today. Here ya go." He helped Leigha slide off his back and down shoulder. "Geez, you look more tired than I am," He added."Mmmph..." Leigha rubbed her eyes and yawned, "It's been a long, long strange day. I need a nap."They strolled over to a flat rock by the pile of logs, spread Leigha's work shirt on top like a table cloth and set out one third of the berries on top of it."There," Kire said, "Set up nicely. Hey, what's everyone doing?"Leigha looked around and saw Alexis... throwing rocks at a scale... Now that was strange. "So, what're you doing?" She asked from behind her and leaned around to see her work. Kire walked over, "You may have better luck using claws instead of rocks." He offered, glancing over at a sleeping Storm and watchful Djin. He smiled, they were bonding well too. He wondered if he & Leigha looked like they were getting along that well...

@leafpelt @whitescales Blah, I had this post almost done, but then I clicked an ad. D:--Djin sighed. "We're just waiting to start the fire now." She answered Kire, her tongue flicking out. "I suppose it'd be silly to cook the berries?" Her eyes started to close, but the dragon stubbornly held them open. /You gotta... Stay awake. Keep watch. Fight predators...../ She stood, the sleeping human making her too warm and sleepy for comfort.Storm had been dreaming of the drifting clouds, how she'd lay on the fluffy surface and watch the world from above... The warm summer breeze blowing on her cheek as she watched little mythical creatures mill about below. The warmth was gone though, and Storm shifted a bit, uncomfortable.

@whitescales @ems "Oh, nothing. Just trying to make some sort of self defense. If you guys want to sleep, I'll watch. I need to wait for Argentum to come back. " Just then, the said name started coming into view."Speak of the devil," she muttered. She watched as Argentum plopped down a lion. "Food?" she prompted. She looked back at the junk pile, trying to find a claw. "Claw...""Food and warmth, if you can skin it." Argentum's eyes were hungry, and challenging.

@leafpelt @ems Leigha yawned again. "Nah," She told Alexis, "I'm more hungry than I am sleepy. Besides," She smirked, "I wanna make sure my meat is cooked right." She decided to help Alexis look for a claw in the pile. She dug for a little before drawing her hand back to her, her finger was covered in blood. She stared at it to assess the damage then decided it was nothing and stuck it in her mouth. She carefully pulled the thing that had poked her out of the pile and wiped it off on her jeans. "Here's a claw for you." She handed it to Alexis before digging through the pile again.Kire sat by the pile of logs, "Cooked berries make a great syrup though," He gestured at the ones laying out on the rock, "But this is more of a table than a cook top." He replied to Djin while fashioning a spit by sticking two large forked branches into the ground above the fire and laying a smoother branch between the forked branches on each side.He turned to Alexis, "If you're trying to make armor, I suggest using the claws to drill holes in the scales then lash them together with something. It'd make it easier to wear then because you can attach straps to it that way." Kire chuckled, "Soooo who's skinning our dinner? I'm starving and I wanna cook it already!"
leafpelt • 7 May 2013 at 1:17 AM
@whitescales @ems Alexis stopped momentarily, sighing. She would work better after food anyways. She mumbled something incomprehensible. Argentum snorted, amused. "You're kidding. You can fight, skin, and flay, but you can't cook?" She shook her head.Alexis glared. She grabbed the claw and started skinning the lion. Slowly, but steadily, she got the pelt off. She tossed it aside. Her hands bloody, she stood up. "Ready. Now someone cook it before I do, because it'll end up burnt if I have to cook."
ems • 7 May 2013 at 1:53 AM
@whitescales @leafpelt--Djin nodded. "I do like syrup. Makes everything sweeter." She nudged Storm awake, noting he problem of cooking quickly. "Um... I've never cooked..." She looked at the bloody lump of meat, gesturing to it. "Whatever that is, but I think I can figure it out.... It's like cooking a gigantic roast chicken, right?" The dragon looked a bit confused. "I suppose so...?" Storm looked around. "Alright! I'll... Erm... Get started. Djin, could you light the fire?"As an answer, Djin leaned down and blew a tendril of fire at the wood pile in the pit, setting it alight.

@ems @leafpelt Leigha stood and stretched, "Well let me cut out the organs first, I'm pretty sure no one wants the bladder or stomach in there." Kire helped her remove all of the organs but set the kidneys, liver and heart aside."These are really high in vitamins," He explained, "and are best raw, but you guys may want to cook them first." He set them on another flat rock and set it as close as he could to the fire.Leigha cringed a bit at the organs then gestured to the good parts of the meat. "All yours Storm."
leafpelt • 7 May 2013 at 2:10 AM
@whitescales @ems Alexis watched for a moment, then started thinning the scale. It was a nice ebony color, with silver on it. "I would love this to be my sword. Beautiful coloring..."Argentum paused. "Oh, that one," she replied. "That was a smaller dragon...I think. Finish wielding and we'll see what we can do."
ems • 7 May 2013 at 10:57 AM
@whitescales @leafpelt--Storm looked a bit green, but nodded. Djin helped her put the remains of the mountain lion on the spit, and lift the spit over the fire. "Yum..." Storm watched the meat carefully, making sure to turn the spit every now and then. DJin yawned a bit, and nudged Storm. "I'm... Going to nap." She murmured, and Storm nodded. "Go on; I'll be alright." Djin smiled and curled up behind Storm, letting her eyelids close.

@leafpelt @ems Leigha watched Alexis whittle down the dragon scale and started to think about her own defense. She dragged her sketchbook and pencil out of her bag and sat down by Kire."Whatcha got there?" Kire asked as he stretched and laid down so he could watch her draw. Leigha tapped her eraser on her forehead "This is my sketchbook, I draw out all of my ideas in here." She gave a small smile and started sketching out what she wanted, erasing a few stray lines. "You know... I really don't know how to use a weapon. The closest I ever got was playing sword fight with sticks when I was a kid. Well, I guess I can handle my pocket knife too, but it's not very helpful that I don't have it." She let a glum expression settle on her face as she examined her drawing. It was a long two handed sword.Kire looked down at the drawing thoughtfully, "Hold on, I'll be right back." He stood and spread his wings ready to fly."What? Where are you going?" Leigha asked a little surprised.Kire turned his head and winked at her, "It's a surprise." He took off and headed back to the wooded area where they met.

@april__Caiden ran as fast as his legs would carry him through the open meadow. He couldn't hear the dragon behind him, but a large shadow appeared over him as he ran. It easily kept pace, gliding just above his head. Where the heck was he?? {Would you just stop already?} The feminine voice grumbled in his mind again. A second later the huge scaly beast landed on the ground in front of him snarling. Caiden skidded to a stop, almost tumbling over. He eyed the huge fangs in fear. Why hadn't the beast eaten him already?? It obviously could have caught him at any time. Maybe it wanted to play with its food?{Listen, if I was going to eat you, I would have already!} The dragon rolled its eyes. {I don't play with my food.}"Well that's relief! Mind letting me go then?" He trembled eying the beast. It was actually quite lean, not bulky like the dragons who he liked when he was a kid. This one had a type of beauty to it that was hard to describe. {I'm going to guess you haven't paid an attention to your dreams lately, have you?} The dragon sighed, snorting out air through nose. {Fairies, dragons, end of the world. Any of that ring a bell?}Caiden stared at the dragon confused. What the heck was it talking about? "Uh, nope. None of it."{You sure about that?}It slowly came back to him. "No….. That can’t possibly be true!" He gasped. Yet, here was the proof. He was staring at a huge purple dragon in some strange land.

@shadowheart3 Danieka frowned. Where had the boy gone?{Are you ready to listen yet?} Adriel demanded, sighing heavily. Of all the riders he had to get... It had to be this one. "You're not there. Or ya know, I'm not really here. Cause I'm asleep in my bed." {Right, okay. Let me know when it all clicks for you.} Adriel shook his massive head before taking flight to hover above her. An hour had passed, and Danieka had stuck her fingers in her ears to try and drown out the constant sound of Adriel's wings creating a wind. {You know you can't block out my voice,} he thought at her. Then the humming started, leaving the young dragon feeling quite aggravated. Something caught her eye in the distance and as Danieka paused, she groaned. "Oh for heaven's sake. Not another one!" Turning on her heel to take off back the way she came, she was quite disturbed to feel a sharp pinch in both her shoulders. Suddenly, she was rising from the ground. "No! Put me down!"{I'm not playing games. It's another rider. We're going to get this all sorted out.} She hadn't time to object before Adriel dove downwards before letting go, sending Danieka sprawling out on the hard ground. As she lay there, she glanced up to see another boy. Another human. Adriel swooped down near the other dragon. {Is yours being this difficult?} he inquired, watching the girl struggle to jump to her feet in bemusement. EDIT: Oops! Wrong account. XD But hey, my featured is kind of fitting. >_>

@april__ / @april "Ok, hang on. So you're telling me that the world is coming to an end, and me being an almighty human I'm here to help save it?" Caiden questioned, looking the dragon over.{Yep. That pretty much summons it up.} Aura nodded her huge head before sitting down. Caiden couldn't help but start busting out laughing. "Me save the world?" He gasped for breath. "You've got the wrong human."Aura snarled in anger, her eyes narrowing. {Listen kid, this isn't a joke. My world and your world could be coming to an end, and here you are laughing!}Caiden jumped at the dragons anger. "Hey, I didn't mean it like that! Look I'm not 'save the world' material."{Well you better learn how to be. You'll be fighting soon enough.} Out of no where there was a thump on the ground behind Caiden. He whipped around to see a blonde headed girl laying on the ground, a huge dragon swooped down next to Aura a moment later. {You have no idea.} Aura shook her head in annoyance to the other dragon. "Hey. Are you okay?" Caiden rushed over to the girl. At least Aura hadn't dropped him on the ground!

@shadowheart3 {Any ideas on a course of action to get them on board. When I was told the riders were coming... Not what I expected,} Adrien said with a shake of his head. "There is no need to be rude!" Danieka snapped as she sat on the ground, glaring up at Adrien. {I could say the same to you. Ignoring me, pretending I'm not there. Childish behaviours. Do I seem real now?} Scowling, she stood up. "I'm fine. Thanks." She immediately took her hands and attempted to rub the dirt off her jeans. This was the second time today. "Fine. If you're real, then this knocking me down or dropping me has to be the first thing to stop," Danieka said in a lecturing tone. {My my, it isn't my fault! After all, you said I'm not real. So how could that have hurt? And besides, I didn't drop you from high enough to cause serious injuries. So calm down.} Rolling her eyes, Danieka chose to ignore Adrien, again. "What are you doing here?" she asked the boy, feeling a rush of relief as she examined him. He was definitely human. Just like her.
shadowheart3 • 18 June 2013 at 9:54 PM
@april__ {I have no idea. I was hoping they would be a little more compliant.} Aura sighed, wrapping her tail around her front paws much like a cat. "What did you expect?" Caiden grumbled half to himself. Aura rolled her eyes, ignoring him. {They need time to let it sink in. Time we don't have, we need to be training with them as soon as possible.}Caiden turned his attention back to the girl. "Same as you, I guess?" He shrugged. "Fell into a mirror. Found myself in a strange land. Got chased by a dragon....Now I'm here."Caiden glanced around the surrounding area. There was a forest in the distance on one side and open meadow on the other. It was crazy to think of this as a whole new world. If what the dragons were saying was true, then they were in serious trouble. The area seemed tranquil, but who knew what was around the corner?Once again, he turned back to the purple dragon. "What do you need me to do?" This time he was determined to stay open-minded and at least hear her out.{I need you to work with me.} Her violet eyes met his. {We dragons can't do it alone.}
