I had some ideas.
1) Egg Cave wills made official - if your account is deleted the creatures automatically go to who you want them to go to (it would be optional)
2) When an account is deleted, the creatures go in the Adoption Center. (This could also be optional) (also if the account was deleted because they were cheating, this won't happen)

Read this because I don't want to say it a million times: Your. Account. Would. Not. Be. Deleted. Automatically. Also, please notice that the AC thing would be OPTIONAL.

If someone didn't want to adopt out their creatures before they asked to get their account deleted then that's their choice.

(inb4 someone says "some people don't delete their accounts". That's irrelevant xD)

I totally agree on the sending eggs to AC. I mean I'm sure a handful of super rares have disappeared forever. :c

@purrclan

I agree with @cricket. If someone didn't want to adopt out their creatures before quitting, this should be their choice. V_V

@purrclan We delete accounts for other reasons than people quitting/asking for it. Mainly when we catch people cheating. I would rather that the AC wasn't flooded with creatures gotten by cheating when we delete these accounts.

@april__
@cricket
Maybe it could also be optional? Like, under Preferences there could be a Yes/No button next to "If my account is deleted, the creatures will go into the Adoption Center."

@orderedchaos
Well then, it could only happen when the account was just being deleted because they were quitting.

@purrclan

I agree with AC, but I also agree with @orderedchaos that creatures gotten by cheating should not be flooding the AC.

So, here's a suggestion for the suggestion. How about if the account is deleted, because of cheating the creatures can go back to the original owners. Though, this would be controlled by the mods, as in if a account is deleted do to wrongful doing the creatures will not be sent to the AC, but given to the responsible owners.

I think that @orderedchaos is right but these should still be options. A mod could simple un-click the boxes before they delete the account.

I think that sounds pretty fair. After all, the creatures are inoccent.

@seaangel
That's not what @orderedchaos means by cheating, they mean going to the Cave on multiple accounts.

@mib666666 Yup!

Why couldn't the user simply give their eggs away (either to the AC or to other users) before they deleted their account?

And if they left without warning, can we really be sure that they aren't coming back? I've taken multiple unannounced hiatuses during my EC career and I'd hate to come back to find my account deleted or my cove empty.

@zac
I'm not saying accounts would automatically be deleted. I'm saying that if you deleted your account your creatures would go in the AC if you had that enabled in Preferences.

@purrclan Ah, I see. I misunderstood. 😊

But my first point still stand then. Why couldn't the users just put the creatures in the AC themselves?

@zac It takes time and money to put your creatures in the AC. Putting them in the TC means waiting who knows how long for someone to offer, especially if its a commons lot. This would just be an easier way.

I think thats a wonderful idea 😊 I always hear of people saying "If I ever quit, my stuff goes to blah blah blah" and it would also be easier if it is a automatic transfer! Rather than setting up ALL THOSE TRADES!!! XD

Well a lot of users don't want their eggs to go to someone else, even if they will never logon again.

So they wouldn't elete their account.

And also, users tend to give their creatures away to their close friends when they quit. I rarely see anyone give away their eggs for free. Even so, they could just make a topic.

This sort of seems like a better way for users to get eggs of those who have quit. ^^;

@PurrClan
Agreed! It would also stop making people sad with EggCave wills. The wills also clog up Livepulse with a bunch of depressing thoughts and "Don't quit!"'s that don't need to be there.

I just skimmed through the posts so if that's been mentioned then I'm sorry, but I do wish there was a way to save dying creatures on abandoned accounts.

I know there are probably a lot of dead creatures every day but it would be nice if they got transferred to AC before they disappear completely from EggCave.

Guys, read whitefall's post. v_v

If I quit, I wouldn't want to be all "Welp, Imma quit now. How about I dump Lufanda into the AC for some bad-tempered newbie to pick up?! What a great idea! 😃"

Some people keep their coves around after they quit because they're greedy and they like their pixels. Well, they should have the right to. They worked hard and paid for the creatures they own and they should decide what happens to them.

Also, this would wreak havoc on the rarities of a lot of creatures. And a lot of users reconsider after they quit. They come back and visit occasionally. I don't think they would be happy about this, either.

And to address the "save the dying creatures" argument: Guys. You can immortalize them. It's not that hard.
