Why? Why does one have to pay for things with money they work for?

@falwaeth

So EggCave can have money to run the site. Many (most) websites actually have things that you have to pay with real money.

@falwaeth
You don't really need to pay money to have CC. I have CC and EggCave has gotten 0 dollars from me, ever.

@bubblez

I realize this fact. Its just the idea of paying for things that really don't have anything to do with real life.
I may donate some amount of money to this site eventually, only because of the interesting work that goes into it.
But in order to donate, I have to buy the CC. Instead of a donate button. I don't really want advantages though, but so be it.

@falwaeth You can trade for cc as well, you don't HAVE to buy it. Be thankful that you do not need money to sign up, buying cc is optional.

@jrock2012

Is that Cheating?

Deleted • 29 December 2012 at 9:26 PM

@falwaeth
xD No. When I first started I sold names and saved up enough EC to trade someone for a bit of their CC. I later started getting EC from Travels and doing the same thing. You don't have to cheat or buy CC, just got to have patience and work for it.

Interesting. Sneaky, Sly, I like it.
Thankyou!

@falwaeth
Well, I wouldn't call it sneaky or sly, but okay 😊 you're welcome. Everyone has something that they can do well to get EC on the site, you just have to find out what yours is and do it. Some people immortalize people's creatures for EC, some people sell drawings or poems, etc.

Again,many sites do it. It keeps the players happy. And the site running.

It might have nothing to do with real life, but it has everything to do with the internet life.

@falwaeth
Try different things. When you hang around the site for a bit you'll see how things work and what kind of things people do to earn EC. I wish you the best of luck 😊 And I hope you have a great time here on EggCave.

Well, I was always jealous about how other people had CC. I then grown to hate greed. But, I had a few un-greedy friends on Egg Cave which is pretty rare because Egg Cave is about collecting. I wanted to give them CC. So I saved up my EC and bought a lot of the new creature and the sold them to someone who was offering 10 CC for one. I was pretty rich but NO, I'M NOT GREEDY so I gave it all to my friends and has abut left over 😸 and then some people's birthday came and I gave them some CC and I had about 9 CC left 😃
When a new creature comes out, I recommend you get as many of that creature as possible (IF TH POPULARITY IS HIGH ENOUGH) and sell them for CC or EC. 😊

@falwaeth
What Jennifer said is a really great way to make EC/CC, while the Plot or Event lasts.

I don't see it much different than purchasing music from iTunes or downloading a game from Steam. They're not really tangible products, but they provide some entertainment to people. Of course, an adoptable pet on a website isn't as practical as a video game or MP3, but it's the general idea.

You could view the Cash Shop as a type of donation, but with the added bonus of a creature. Depending on the month and what events are going on, we can release quite a few creatures during that time. Just this month, we've had 11 new creatures added, each with multiple stages. Ian does indeed pay each artist, unless a user on the website contributes a nice looking item, and has to upkeep the server. Every cent from Cave Cash goes directly into the website.

I'm not really sure what you mean by 'Why does one have to pay for things with money they work for?', though. That would apply to anything you buy. 😋

Regardless, we're actually working on making the site more balanced and accessible by both paying and non-paying users. I think everyone will enjoy what we have in store for 2013. 😊
