Occasionally, when someone pings me, I don't get a notification. That happened today too when @chihuahuagirl3377 pinged me. And it was only 3 pings, so it wasn't over 5. Help?

@jemmie
If the ping is edited in you will not get the ping.

@alannah
Yeah, I'm pretty sure IT WASN'T EDITED?!

@jemmie
Are you sure? Is it in your past notifications?

@jemmie @alannah

This has been happening to me too lately.

My best guess, just either wait it out or send in a bug report.

@jemmie Check your Notifications page?

Also, as alannah said, if the ping is edited into the post, you won't get it. There is no way to check if someone else has EDITED their post, so you can't be sure 😉

(and @bubblez too.)
Have you got any extensions that block certain flash things/pop-ups? (This is an unlikely solution but) try clearing your cache? :]

Are you sure they're POSTING the ping - not wall posts or conversations?

@karamel
1. I ALWAYS check my notifications page.
2. It was in the RP...and my username isn't THAT hard to spell.
3. RP, FORUMS, ?!?!

@jemmie Is the RP you're talking about this one?: http://eggcave.com/forums/topic/35295

@karamel
No, it's the HTTYD RP. And not only in RPs. Different forum threads too.

@jemmie Have you got any extensions + what browser are you using? 😊

@karamel
Don't think so, and either Internet explorer or Safari (iPad)

@jemmie Which one are you using now?

(And are you getting my pings? Chances are, if you are getting my pings, she's editing her pings into her post.)

@karamel
I use Safari way more often.

(I'm getting your pings. I'm pretty sure ou don't edit in the pings after you write the RP part, but whatever)

@jemmie I don't think Egg Cave is very compatible with Apple products, but you seem to be getting my pings.

Chances are she's editing in the pings because if they're not showing up in your notifications (even though mine ARE), then they're not there.

If you haven't already, try subscribing to the topics that you and her speak most on :]

@karamel
I just asked her if she edited. but she's not online right now.

@jemmie Just wait for her to reply :] Hopefully that's the cause of the problem.

I don't see why you'd post something and then edit the pings in though ._.

@karamel Me neither. But if she didn't, what the heck...plus, I always check the 'forum' notifications before wall posts and stuff, so I get there pretty quick. I'm not sure if you can
1. Post
2. Edit
3. Go to my profile
4. Say you pinged me on it
Also, it's pretty foggy, but I think it might have happened in the 'How famous are YOU on Eggcave' thread

@jemmie You want me to do that?

Do you want me to post WITHOUT pinging you or edit the ping in?

@karamel
No, I mean, sometimes she posts on my wall after she posts on the thread. But, I check frequently, so how would she have been able to do all that? O.o

@jemmie By frequently, I doubt you mean "every second" 😉 People can post at any time.

... I don't really understand what you mean. Do you mean you check both your wall and your posts frequently, so you're confused as to how she can post without you seeing? ._.

I mean, I get bored if I talk to nobody. So, I check Livepulse...ALOT!

@jemmie The livepulse only tracks posts, not wall posts 😋 How frequently do you mean by "a lot"? Sometimes the forum is really active so you can't catch EVERY SINGLE post that people make.

@karamel
Like twice a minute 😋 and I meant posts, not wall posts. I always receive notifications for those.

@jemmie People can post at any time at any speed rate 😋

Well we'll just have to wait until your friend says whether she edits or not 😋 Then we don't have all this confusion xD

@karamel

I clear my cookies & cache regularly 😋

It's no big deal for me though. I know for sure they're pinging me in the forum, and only 5 so I should get pinged but don't. It doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen.

@bubblez Chances are they're editing in the ping ._.

If other people are having the same problem it might be site-wide, but my pings have been working fine from the start.
