Action Log

Seeing as people are getting missing creatures and weird things done to their account/creatures/items, I wanted to implement an action log.

This would show all of the stuff you've done on your account - name changes, feeding (not sure about this one - if you did a mass feeding spree, all you'd have in the log is "Fed x" all the way through), money transactions, bought travels, donations, etc.

Sometimes when I scroll through the Bugs/Help sections, a lot of people say their creatures have gone missing or they've got a different travel or their money is missing (and more stuff like that), so the action log would help them to see whether it was a glitch, a forgetful mistake or a hack/cheeky sibling 😋

There are many advantages with this and the only con I can think of is the server (might slow down) and the coding. Hopefully the action log will update in real time, so we don't get this confusion with "I named my creature this but the action log hasn't said anything!!!111one!" xD

@Karamel I agree completely! I've never had stuff go missing or anything, but I would really love to see this implemented in case it ever did.

@Karamel Perhaps it could show who you've pinged, too? It wouldn't count the edited ones, most likely, because that would be too much work. But since @Jemmie says she isn't getting her pings, this could help too so that the pinger could confirm that they did or did not correctly ping who they meant to the first time.

@whitefire That's a good idea, actually 😃 It could say who you've pinged and track your posts (however there's the "My Recent Posts" page), as well as your edits 😸

@Karamel But the "My Recent Posts" only tracks what is currently contained within the post. So if you edited and then forgot, then you wouldn't seem ignorant if you were pinged wrong and missed the post. Showing edits in the Activity Log would certainly be nice, too!

(It reminds me of the notifications list, and the my recent posts list, combined, and then added to that)

EDIT: @jemmie That's what I mentioned in the cons section - server lagging/glitching/slowing down, and I don't know if Ian would be able to code it. With the notifications + my recent posts thing, it is kind of like that, but with A LOT more additions 😉

@jemmie No, because this action log is for what YOU do. It wouldn't track your notifications (unless you pinged yourself, then it would appear in both because YOU did it). 😊
@Ian can alter it any way he wants 😸

Although I'd definitely like to add posts into the action log, we don't have to (because we can track them already) but we could also track edits and pings.

@jemmie I know they wouldn't have much use anyway afterwards 😋 Ian has control over all of the changes and additions he makes to Egg Cave.

However, the recent posts/topics option tracks all of them, and I don't know how far the action log would go :s

@kollais Thanks! And I don't know, maybe we could make a certain time (like the time when the views and levels update) where the action logs are updated. But that causes a lot of confusion when people are checking the logs to solve bugs :S
