Welcome to EggCave! Here are some tips:
Pinging. Pinging is when you put the @ symbol before somebody's username, and they are notified that you responded to something they posted or simply addressed them. Like what I did above.
Hashtags. That is when you put a # symbol before a word or phrase. Like #ExampleHash . It is used for categorizing posts and things like that.
Linking creatures/trades. That is when you link a creature or trade lot people would like you to click on. Depending on what you want to link, you type it out differently. For a trade:
1. Type in a bracket, then put t=. ( [t= )
2. Type in the ID for the trade. ( [t=1] )
3. Type a message that does not include punctuation marks. ( [t=1]This was the first trade ever created and therefore is closed )
4. Open another bracket and finish with /t, then close the brackets. ( This was the first trade ever created and therefore is closed ) You may end with a punctuation mark if you so wish.

You do the same with creatures, but I believe you type "c" instead of "t." I think that's it for explanations...
