A flamingo can only eat when its head is upside down.

Mosquitos are attracted to the color blue twice as much as to any other color.

Goats eyes have rectangular pupils, which allow them to watch over their broad, flat grazing area for predators.

Honeybees have hairs on their eyes to help them collect pollen.

The giraffe has no vocal cords and communicates by vibrating the air around its neck.

Dolphins sleep with one half of the brain at a time, and with one eye closed.

A snail can sleep for 3 years at a stretch.

Most elephants weigh less than the tongue of a blue whale.

All polar bears are left-handed.

A rat can last longer without water than a camel.

Fish communicate with each other by rasping their teeth to make sounds in their throat, or by using their swim bladder to create sounds.

Bats always turn left when exiting a cave.

The hummingbird is the only animal that can fly backwards.

If you cut a goldfish's optic nerve, it will grow back. That means that it can go from being blind to seeing again within a period of time.

Chinchillas also are mammals that lay eggs 😊

Ducks have a system of blood flow in their legs that allows them to swim even in freezing temperatures and not get cold.

It takes 21 days to incubate a chicken egg.

Some chickens lay blue and green eggs.

Cats can either roar or purr. They can't do both.

Sorry if any are repeats! I haven't had time to read through the whole thread yet.

No, chinchillas don't lay eggs. I have two (females), and I had to read all about them before I got them. They do not lay eggs.

Chinchillas cannot go in water, and must be dried gently and immediately if wet, even if only slightly soaked.

Lawl, it's okay. XD

When a pack of wolves grows too big, the Omega is forced out (I'm pretty sure, I'll get back on that one).

Cats bring back kills to their humans in return for shelter and other necessities.

Turkeys are the only birds that can fly straight up.

Humming birds are the only birds that can hover.

Cheetahs cannot roar.
