@jupiter_hollow Oh dear me, I apologize. I was caught up in other affairs.

All right everyone, we will begin our missions at the Marketplace. Here we will be willing to find many citizens willing to give us quests. Perhaps later I will edit one of my first posts to an available missions page, but for now we will just go with the flow. Before we can start accepting solo missions and the works, we first must embark on a quest involving all of us to become acquainted.

Our Quest~

There is word of a mighty rainbow dragon knows as a dragold. She is said to be protecting two eggs of her species. These eggs are highly valued throughout the marketplace. We must stealthily steal the two eggs and deliver one to the man who gave us this quest. (Or perhaps one of us will try to run away with both of them to spice things up, but of course that would earn them a bad reputation.) Then we shall see who keep the remaining egg. We could talk about it, or it could be a bloodbath in witch the victor keeps the egg. Remember the respawning rules in the first post in the likely even of your death 😉

The wind fluttered through the marketplace, leaving a cloud of dust. The day was warm and busy, and the shouts and calls of the marketplace rang clear. Only one girl sat by herself, sulking.

"What would a fine miss like you be doing here alone? You know how the men run amok." an old man selling apples smirked. A single gold tooth glimmered in his mouth.

Ariadne looked up. Her plum red hair was untidy and thrown together into a small bun. Standing up, she replied. "You're right. Today's not a day to be sulking." she said. The red-head grabbed an apple and bit into it. "How much?"

The man smiled. "50 pence." Ariadne nodded and quickly paid the fee.

She turned and began to stroll through the marketplace. She had a leopard skin cloak tied around her. Her leather boots left a puff of dust in the air with each step.

Suddenly, Ariadne plunged towards the ground. She fell face first into the dirt and stone ground. "Owww!" she whined. She pushed herself up only to see a pair of men taking off with her bag. "Stop!" she shouted, racing after them.

She tripped again.

'Darn! These shoelaces keep tripping me.' she thought. Clenching her teeth, she stood up and played the "damsel in distress" card.

"Help! Two ruffians just stole my purse!" she cried.

@scream @pirateseaz @jupiter_hollow @hedwig68 @rojoqueen Just the thing to cheer me up! I just had a cry fest. Was playing a horror game with a really sad, sweet ending ;-; Hope you guys don't mind me posting after Scream. C:

Camilla walked through the crowded marketplace, her blue eyes taking up her surroundings quickly. The thief's black hood was up and shadowing her face. Her eyebrows lifted in curiosity at the sound of a female's voice crying for help. The two ruffians that had stolen the purse were heading her way. They weren't watching where they were going, and instead used their burly bodies to rush past people and push bystanders away.

Camilla's eyes narrowed when she saw the purse. It could contain money, just what she had come here to look for. Just as the man holding the purse was about to run past, Camilla stuck out a leg quickly, hooked it on the man's shin, and pulled, causing him to fall.

The man had dropped the purse on his tumble down to the ground. Camilla jumped over the man, bent down, snatched the purse, and gave the man a nice kick in the side to keep him down. She was just about to make her escape when she felt a hard push. Camilla teetered forward, almost falling down. She turned to see the first man, seething with rage in front of her. The man had balled his hands into fists and brought his arm forward in a punch. Camilla ducked and slid across the ground. As she stood up, her hood fell off to reveal her blonde hair for a split second before the girl hopped on a stack of crates, and used it to climb up onto a roof and finally make her escape.

Amdis walking into the marketplace with the air of a high knight, which of course earned him insults and laughed from the crowd, as he was only 14. Amdis paid no heed though. If they knew him, though most certainly wouldn't be laughing.

He noticed to ruffians running with a stolen purse and was shocked to see it stolen from the thieves by another thief. He scratched his head and kept walking towards his main objective. The quest booth. At least that is what it was called. More like a quest building with three floors. He strayed from his path to speak to the victim of the stolen purse. "Could I offer an assistance?" he asked.

Nile silently watched the ruckus of the market place from the roof, "Amateurs"she scoffed silently,
watching Camilla flee. Nile saw that she had the purse full of money and decided,
to follow her she hid in the shadows as she followed Camilla, 'Money means food and shelter' she thought to herself with a dim smile. As she followed Camilla trying very hard to not make a sound.
Then when she was very close to stealing the bag, a stick cracked under her weight.
She raced for cover trying to make it so Camilla wouldn't see her.
She slid behind a rock, making a lot more noise than she hoped as her black cape stuck out in the open, she failed at trying to grab it. 'I will be killed for sure' she thought full of guilt

The market lane extended from one side of the town to the other, inevitably crowded with busy shoppers and salesmen. It was a street more frequently regarded than the city's main boulevard. Half of it's population was gathered there daily. It was a place of numerous interests. Not only buying or selling goods, but also entertainment, pleasure and food.
All ruccus emmited from the place was produced mainly by the customers and sellers and gamblers. Along the lenght of the street, a few dozen eliptical tables were set, one in front of every cafe or pub, where numerous young men were gathered, playing their hearts out in the games. There were tables for craps, blackjack, baccarat, russian roulette (it was specially hidden in the end of the street since these kinds of games tended to get messy in the end) and most importantly - poker.
One table in particular always contrasted to the rest. Even now, compared to the four-people blackjack table to the left and the seven-people baccarat table to the right, the poker table was completely packed. Only two players had remained, so the crowd was mainly audience. People were sitting on the chairs, ground or standing loomingly over the players and watching their every move.
It had become intense when one of the two daredevil men that played had bet himself in the game and the other had gone so far as to put his life at stake, betting a lung.
One - widely regarded, the other - widely infamous.
The one currently losing was, surprsingly, he who acted more calmly. While his opponent was already shuddering excitedly and a little nervously, the other boy looked nearly bored. In truth, his mind was so heavily transfixed to the game that in his concentration he hadn't even heard about the robbed girl as of yet. The event was already passing over lips after lips, the entire markeplace now aware. He remained detached, however.
Fumbling with the earring on his left ear as nonchalantly as possible, Sean Denmark lifted his eyes to meet his oponent in the calmest manner.
"Your turn, darling." he purred lazily, resting a cheek in his palm, elbow on the table.

A quick flash of red appeared in the shadows, close to where the girl was crying out for her purse. The flash, however, disappeared an quickly as it appeared. Suddenly, at the corner of the building, a hooded figure peaked of from behind the building. It stared at the girl that was crying out, and then at the people who had stolen her purse. She guessed there was money in that purse by she just shook her head, 'Not worth my time.' They told them self before walking out from behind the building.

The figure began to walk, mostly sticking to the shadows, as usual. Then, deciding that they didn't want to come on as suspicious and a hand reached out and pulled down the hood. As the hood fell to the figure's shoulders, it revealed them to be a girl. She reached out and ran her hand through her pitch-black hair, which was streaked with crimson red. Her forest green eyes darted back and forth quickly, Alex was prowling for an easy steal.

Before she could find a quick steal, whether it be money or food, she spotted a table, it was surrounded by many people. Alex raised an eyebrow and she broke through the crowd, managing to steal one person's pouch of coins. She reached the front of the crowd and saw to men, they were playing a game of poker. Alex cocked her head and she watched the game quietly, one boy was completely calm, the other, however, was twitching with excitement.

@rojoqueen Why would there be a rock on a roof? 😋 You should have come up with something more logical. @jupiter_hollow @piratseaz
~~~
Camilla already knew very well that she was being shadowed the second she landed on the roof. Out of the corner of her eyes, she spotted a dark shape nearby. It seemed to be the silhouette of a girl. Camilla ignored the person as they followed her from rooftop to rooftop. She felt as if something was out of place, as if the silhouette was to easily seen.
It was definitely either a person that was just starting to get adjusted to this life, or a fairly careless girl. The silhouette only got closer and closer. Camilla had already reached into her sleeve, the cold metal hilt of a dagger in her hands.
CRACK.
The loud sound of a twig snapping almost made Camilla laugh aloud at the amateur mistake. She finally turned, just in time to see a black cape fluttering out from behind the silhouette's hiding place.
The girl flung the dagger towards the rock, and the tiniest tip of the weapon suck in the hard surface. "Leave me. You can't possibly think an amateur like you could steal from me.... Go, before I kill you and leave you to the crows."
With that, she turned away and dissapeared over another roof. Camilla bent down and grabbed hold of the edge of the roof, before slowly lowering herself down using make-shift footholds. Camilla emptied the purse into her pockets, before tossing the bag aside.
Nile watched her, as her heart raced, she watched her shadow disappear, she had never been noted as the smartest thief, so she did what she would naturally, which usually got her into loads of trouble. She decided to follow Camilla once again.
She picked up her deep black cloak, which was now covered in dirt, she sighed her favorite cloak 'oh well' she could wash it later she thought as she slid into it she remembered when she had stolen it from a local trader who had thought, they lost their mind and gave up, she clambered on the roof again and raced after Camilla.
Nile maybe thought she was hoping to form an alliance, or just liked the thrill of danger and pursuing people, she could have been a bounty hunter but a thief was much easier to gain from.
The marketplace, a location which lived and functioned only thanks to money and was characterized by big noisy crowds was certainly not a good place to be for someone who had no money at all and was easily irritated by even the smallest unneeded noise. Still even such people had no choice but to appear here sooner or later since it seemed to be the area where almost all goods could be acquired.
Siegfried, due to not thinking things trough as usually had destroyed his sword in a battle a few days before and was now left without a weapon. His search for a new one brought him into this lively environment he genuinely hated and he was anything but happy about the whole situation. He thought that it would take him only a minute or two to spot something useable and deadly and that he would be able to leave quickly but it turned out that finding anything suitable and also cheap wasn't that easy, in the end the small amount of time he intended to waste on this turned into a couple of hours. The man didn't give up on his search yet but he was already at boiling point.
Sitting down on the ground in the shadows he proceeded to observe all of the unfamiliar faces that surrounded him and soon enough the group gathered up around one table caught his attention. His eyes remained fixed on the bunch as he tried to figure out what was going on over there but as a few coins clanged in front of him he suddenly jumped up. Already angered even prior to this he was now furious and it seemed as if his glare was enough to kill the person who had thrown the few metal chips.
-"Do i look like a beggar to you!?" Siegfried roared, his voice gradually growing louder towards the end of the sentence. The question was rather pointless as it was obvious that the stranger indeed did make this mistake. Frightened by the threatening giant man he remained silent and frozen for a few seconds before running off into the crowd hitting into people and tripping over his own legs.
Siegfried was left to frown at the coins on the ground, his pride absolutely forbidding him to even think of picking them up. True he couldn't afford the weaponry he needed but he wouldn't allow himself to seem so pathetic. He walked off, posture making it clear that he was only now cooling down and soon he was passing by the table that had distracted him previously. Still curious about the matter he paused to look over the gathering and it turned out that at the heart of it all was a game between two men. It seemed interesting enough and soon the monstrously tall male found himself pushing people out of the way in order to have a better look at the two sitting at the center.
As Sean had already raised the bet by setting an equal amount to his opponent's previous bet, it was the man's turn now - after the other had offered himself as service for a year, Sean had gone as far as to begin betting his limbs. The man had bet a lung, he'd raised by betting his heart. With each raise, more and more people bustled with excitement (and a fair amount of disgust). It seemed as if this poker tournament was going to end like one of the russian roulette rounds - blood and flesh on the ground.
The boy's opponent would have been cheering, if it wasn't for that bedamned smile marking Sean's lips. the boy had lost the previous eight bets, he'd lost everything he had and now everyone witnessed his obvious desperation to win - he had put himself at stake.
More than half of the crowd was fully convinced that it was this very round that separated the young man from a gruesome death. He had his cards hanging nearly limp in his hand, which loosely dangled from the edge of the table. He himself seemed relaxed, but for many, it looked like the face of defeat.
The man on the other side of the table inhaled sharply, barely holding his grin as he nonchalantly waved a hand.
"I bet my whole family, all my riches." he nearly chuckled out, so very utterly happy that he was inevitably going to win. Each of the surrounding watchers knew it. And they all stiffened in suspence, gazes trained on the other, whose turn it was now.
All expected Sean to go further, bet another organ or something else he dearly held. The boy simply sighed, glancing at his cards a last time before straightening up and seemingly bracing himself.
"I feel..." he paused, gazing down at the set of cards he was about to fold down, a visibly neutral look crossing his face. Lifting his eyes, the boy looked at his triumphing opponent. A small smirk cracked his lips.
"... like Royalty."
He finished, setting down a Royal flush, five cards of the same suit, four of them Aces. "I win." he flatly informed the stunned man in front of him, pulling closely the large pile of money, jewelry and goods each of them had bet.
Alex watched the whole game end, her face one contorted from an emotionless one to one of amusement. She could help but let out a small snicker at how the boy had played the other man. She looked at the pile of riches he won in interest, what an amount it was, if she were to steal it she could feed herself for several weeks at least. Her hand lightly tapped against her side, she was fingering her dagger. She was calculating her chances of stealing the riches from the boy. What a sight she was, a cloaked girl, dressed in all black smiling at a pile of riches.
Her eyes darted to look at the winner of the poker game, she wondered if she could take him. He looked rather tough, though looks could most definitely be deceiving, be could be a slow lout of a human for all she knew. She could only guess one thing, he seemed very smart. Just by the way he played the game of poker she knew that.
She thought through this whole thing and finally decided, if given the chance, she'd steal as much of the trashes as possible and make a quick getaway. She then turned her head to look at the loser of the game, she wanted to see his reaction to the sudden change of the game. Her mouth formed a thin smile, hoping to see a priceless look of pure shock on his face.
While the game of poker was still going on, Camilla had pulled down her hood. She had taken off her cloak and was currently holding it on her arm so that she wouldn't look suspicious at all. The girl had wandered over to the front of the crowd, and had made it just in time to see a boy, win a game of poker. Her lips formed a small smile at the pile of riches on the table.
Camilla headed towards the winner, her eyes traveling to his face as she took in his appearance. The girl fixed her hair and put on the prettiest smile she could as she stepped up to him.
"Hello." she greeted him cheerily. "Congratulations on winning this game." Camilla grabbed onto the boy's arm. "How did you pull off something like that?"
@jupiter_hollow XP Sorry, i forgot about that... @hedwig68 @bunnyshadow
As the situation progressed Siegfried couldn't help but laugh every few minutes at the foolish bets the two were making. It was ridiculous to him that they would take a game so far and put their life at risk but he had to admit that what he did was very much like that as well.
Considering Siegfried smart in any way was a bit difficult and it would take a lot of thinking and effort for someone to find a reason to do so. Due to that in the given situation his thinking was somewhat limited and he was not expecting the boy to do any better than in the previous few bets, the sudden shift and victory of the kid surprised him. Still what he was truly puzzled by was how someone was able to earn so much money on pure luck, an to him it seemed, without doing anything at all.
Seeing the reaction of the crowd which was watching, the women that suddenly crowded around the kid and most of all the pile of gold and money which left him speechless he couldn't help but feel somewhat jealous. It was defeating to see a brat earn in one poker game more than he had the whole previous month but he was himself responsible for that. Before he decided to run off and work on his own he use to earn much more than that in raids.
Deciding not to torture himself by thinking about his decisions again he remembered to continue searching for a weapon but strangely this just brought him back to the problem of having nothing to buy it with and his eyes traveled back on the riches on the table. An idea popped up in his head and although he knew what kind of response he would receive he continued with it any way. Seeing that the boy was pretty much rich at least at the moment he started off with him.
He walked up to him ignoring the rest of the crowd for a moment not minding if all of the present people heard him, the following question was equally directed at everyone after all. His tall massive figure stood out well but to make sure he was noticed he poked the boys shoulder a few times.
-"Do you need someone beat up, maimed, killed or destroyed?" Siegfried questioned, his voice casual and calm and his face unaffected by the bizarre words which he pronounced.
There was a sudden shift in the crowd as it seemed the female population had slowly gravitated to the front row of the audience and around him. Still, Sean was too busy putting his money in a bag, messily stuffing it inside with force. Halfway through, he realized he couldn't take nor carry all of it. Hauling the full sack on his back and securing it safely, he left 1/4th of the money on the table, untouched.
"Well then." he began, finally taking in his surroundings, namely the crumbling man in front of himself. His opponent was nearly in tears, shocked and stunned beyond words. Sean could only smirk nastily at him, savouring the transformation of the selfish winner to a crying sore loser. The man wept even though some of his gold was left for him to take. Then again, the blonde remembered that they'd bet organs too. So that was most probably the main reason why the man had been clutching his chest - lungs, he'd bet his lungs in the game.
It was quite ridiculous, the situation, and for a second, Sean felt a tinge of stinging pity towards his opponent.
Luckily for him, a small whirl of elegance stepped his way, greeting him with a happy chirp and made him forget about ever feeling anything other than delight. She was tall and slim, pale and blonde, eyes the lightest shade of blue. He found himself looking at her figure as well - she had a gentle heart-shaped silhouette and that combined with the pretty face, made him crack a wide smile. She stood out on the gray cityscape. Contrastingly to the white figure, a black one stood not far from where Sean stood, black and red locks showing underneath the stranger's dark hood.
"Hello, beautiful vision of the beyond." he purred quietly, slipping a hand in the pale girl's one and bringing the backside of her palm up to kiss lightly. "What could possibly bring a heavenly creature to roam amongst the poor?"
And as if on queue, another figure had entered the scene, this one twice his size (height and weight alike) and most probably half his intelligence. Sean had noticed him only after his ribs had received a sharp double poke. His instincts acted as a defense mechanism and he reached for his bag, securing it and readying himself to run in case the threateningly approaching brute decided to persue him. Yet the tall man had stopped a meter away and now offered him services.
Sean's first logical reaction was to frown incredulously. Why in the world would-
His mind clicked and he turned to face the scared man he'd defeated. Only now did he remember his bet - himself, his lungs, his family and riches. He supposed the giant had overheard and didn't want to miss his chance to get paid for doing a dirty job.
The question remained - to kill or not to kill. He did feel pity...
"Well..." he mumbled quietly, looking up at the large buff figure and reached a finger to return the poke to his ribs. "I guess so." he decided, the left tip of his mouth turning up.
"No!" the man shrieked through the tears, earning an aggravated wave of Sean's arm in front of his face.
"No worries darling, you won't be getting gutted tonight." the blonde chuckled. "Keep your family. Your wife is a breautiful woman, I would advise against betting her again." he nodded absentmindedly, gathering his belongings from the ground near his chair. He was preparing to leave, apparently.
"Beat up, killed and what-else-did-you-say -- Oh nevermind. Mind being a guardian? Sounds fancy, I know, but it's really a weird way of saying you-can-kill-whoever-wants-to-harm-your-employer. Bonus, you get paid." Sean added lastly, motioning to the pile of gold still left on the table.
Alex raised an eyebrow as the boy left some of his winnings on the table. She eyed them and then made a desicion, she'd wait for the crowd to fan out, and the loser to gt ready to leave. Then she'd steal that leftover money, she guessed it'd be easy enough, considering the man was having a nervous break down. She one again pulled down her hood quietly and looked back at the boy, just by the way he acted when the blonde girl approached him she knew he was a player. Rolling her eyes, Alex watched the girl flirt with the winner. Interesting how she shows up just as he wins, no? She though to herself, cracking a smile. She then averted her attention back to the crying man, she chuckled.
As the large, buff man appeared Alex saw the man become even more scared. And as the boy showed the man mercy Alex raised an eyebrow, she would have thought the boy would have not show the man pity, allowing him to keep his family and organs, how strange this whole game was. As the boy spoke, she listened and her eyes darted to the pile of gold once more. Alex wanted it more and more each second.
Camilla smiled lightly as her hand was kissed by the boy. "The poor?" she questioned. "It doesn't look like your fairly poor right now." the girl added. Camilla stared past the boy as a man appeared. Beat up, maimed, destroyed? The girl narrowed her eyes at the man as he poked her boy multiple times.
"Don't do it." Camilla whispered softly, so that only the boy could hear. "Don't kill the poor man." She arched her eyebrows as her boy called the loser a darling. Was her boy interested in men, too? Camilla pulled her hand aside, before placing both of her hands around her boy's arm.
She glared at the man that had offered his services even as her boy talked to him. Camilla didn't like sharing, and if anyone caught her boy's interests, she would make sure they would go missing, and never be seen again.
@jupiter_hollow @hedwig68 @bunnyshadow Sorry guys i rushed this post a bit XP
Siegfried took a moment to think about the boys offer, his eyes traveling repeatedly from the kid over to the money and then back. The idea of following someone around and making sure they were safe wasn't too appealing to him. He was expecting to simply receive a name and instructions on how to put an end to someone the employer hated, once again he though he would be able to finish up his work in a short amount of time but it didn't seem like that was what the blonde had in mind. After finally escaping his brothers the man wasn't too interested in such a job but he was having second thoughts due to the potential payment. Walking over to the table he tried to measure how much was left on it.
-"I don't think i will work for you longer than one month if this is all im getting." He informed while he seated himself on a chair beside the table and bent down over the , to him it seemed, small pile of money. His elbow was placed on the wooden surface and a coin was picked up for him to play with. This was almost like an attempt to inform the others not to come too close since this could all potentially become his. Having nothing more to say he remained silent and proceeded to gaze over the crowd much of which remained around them even after the end of the game. He was checking to see if maybe someone else was interested in hiring him or offering him a less "difficult" task. It seemed that he had forgotten that most of these people had nothing to pay him with. For a moment the pretty blonde girl beside his potential employer caught his eye, not that much because of her beauty but rather because of the unpleasant way in which she was watching him. It was a bit unclear to him why she would be so hostile, after all he had never even seen her before. He thought if it was possible that he had done something against her or her family in one of his assignments but soon he came to the conclusion that it most probably wasn't so.
Nile also had her eye on the pile of gold sitting on the poker table, she noticed that a girl with pitch black hair also had her eye on the gold, 'Well this is not going to end well' she thought to herself, the roof creaked slightly under her small form.
She spotted the brute and her heart raced, 'he's massive"she thought her eyes widened, 'A perfect distraction' she thought as a smiled prowled onto her lips. She slowly slid off the faded cloth that had been used to patch the roof and watched the brute, she pulled her hood up and started slowly walking towards the poker stand.
She noticed Camilla from earlier, and narrowed her eyes, trying to place why she would follow around drinking scum, "eh probably trying to rob him"she whispered as she melted into the crowd
As he was done packing already, Sean straightened himself, glancing at Camilla first off. At her gentle plead, he smiled.
"Don't worry angel, I won't be shedding blood tonight. More like booze." he chuckled to himself, absentmindedly looking at the gold-filled bag to his side. He pretended not to notice the amount of people highly interested in the money he'd left behind. Many were trying to sneak a coin away, even despite the previous owner of the money bawling his eyes out. For Sean this was simply dismissed as human greed - it was quite common, he mused. Then again, what was a thief to do.
Pulling back from the angel (he'd forgotten her name but that didn't stop him from regarding her), he looked sideways at the giant now residing on where he'd previously sat. He seemed to be interested in bashing someone's head open and Sean didn't mean only his employment. The big guy was currently eyeing the crowd, warning anybody who dared approach the table within a meter.
He raised an eyebrow. "No, that's for a week." he corrected the brute's statement, lightly pulling his arm away from Camilla and walking backwards.
"Take it or leave it!" he called out to the large man, already a few meters away, still walking backwards slowly. "I've to go. Be here at dawn tomorrow if you're interested."
The crowd seemed to be more paying more attention to the money on the table than on the departing winner, but nonetheless, he did a half-arsed bow to whoever was looking at him.
"I'm running late, sundown and all... But never doubt that I love you!" he spread his arms wide, enhancing his statement, winked, saluted and trotted away.
