It's not up to me who is winner, its entirely based on who feeds, essentially making it random ^^

Part of your question I answer above, so see that for if people get both 500th & 1000th, but to answer the second part of your question, I did originally consider doing 500 as first, but what sort of incentive would it be to continue feeding until 1000 if the second prize wasn't as exciting? That's why I chose to do it this way, this way people would still strive get get the extra nice prize at the end. I hope that answers you questions! ^^
