I don't know if anybody else has noticed this, but there have been less and less people on Eggcave. I realize that with school there won't be as many people, but I don't remember it being this lonely last year at the start of school. Go look at the livepulse. The oldest update was almost two hours ago. Within the last two hours, there has only been about thirty updates in the Livepulse. And they've all been made by the same people. I know people can't get on as much because of school, but it's really depressing to see how few are actually on! Does anybody else feel this way. Have you noticed this, because I don't think it's normal, even though school has started. 😃 😃

Yeah, I noticed, doesn't surprise me at all. A lot of people quit/went on hiatus with CC transferring being disabled. And not being able ta get dreamies and such. And a lot of people asking for huge over offers for their dreamies or for other things like new critters, freezes, new travels, new CCs and such. And people always under offering. A lot of people of what I saw got really stressed from that and such also...And a lot of people on here are a bit rude. (Main reason why I wanna quit. But I worked too hard on meh cove and I'm too addicted ta the dumb site ^^)
cirrus • 24 September 2013 at 7:10 PM
@immortalraven CC transferring used to be possible?? And I totally forgot about problems with people quitting!! 😋
immortalraven • 24 September 2013 at 7:19 PM
@skittlejg Yeah ^^ Only way I got my Nyms and other older critters. By trading LEs for CC and then trading CC for older CC critters x3 I think that is why it's harder ta get older critters
Orderedchaos • 24 September 2013 at 7:21 PM
The number of people who "quit" after the CC change is much, much less than everyone believes it is. Many of the people who made the biggest fuss that they were going to "quit" are still active on the site to this day. 😉

I actually do think so that many people quit EggCave since that option. About more than 20 users did so. Some of them did come back when the price of CSPs were less at about 2mil per CSP, but since now it has no exact price, like as in 5 - 10 million is the price paid for 500CC. People pay 20 million for a Greem or a Poplin, as 1CC was to be equal to 40k.The prices inflated again, leaving the people who came back, and more people to go into hiatus mode, or even quit forever.I could see that in this month, more than 10 people quit EggCave.New people come, but they really don't stay for a long time, as they do. 1 week, 1 month is the average time spent till they also quit. Some people really do become fans of EC, like I used to in 2012, and then they'd continue on till they lost interest, as I had now, and they'll quit by that time.

Yes I've noticed it, but I'm not surprised, and I don't think it's due to a large portion of users quiting, I've seen it like this once before.

I guess a lot of people quit because of the CC change but others also quit because of the art and how it's changing or the fact that their friends quit. Even though school started for a lot of us the only reason a lot of us keep playing is since we don't want our pets to die. In my opinion, *My opinion* a lot of us probably would've semi-quit or been even more inactive if critters never died because not many people are on anymore and the forums are just really lonely now.

@Orderedchaos @immortalraven Thanks!! 😃@frosted Thanks, your post really helped me!! 😃

I've noticed it because all of the roleplays I've joined are either dead or filled with people who don't want to use proper grammar, and I hate that because I would really like to understand what people are doing in the roleplays. Or they're just plain uninteresting. And most of the new roleplays are about people, and I don't like roleplaying as a normal or "gifted"/modified human, so I'm pretty much left with nothing. My roleplay buddy has been active, but she's not posting much at the moment and she hasn't posted in any of our shared roleplays for quite some time now, and I don't want to pester her more than I already have...Also, people usually make a big fuss over birthdays on here and notice them whether they're a huge thread all about "it's my birthday!" or just a small status change saying "I'm thirteen today!", but my birthday (August 29th) came and went without a single happy birthday (not that I care; I don't need a lot of attention to have a great thirteenth birthday, just a nice quiet evening would do)--just pointing it out as yet another example of how quiet EggCave is. I really miss Eggcave, but there's nothing for me to do now that all of my roleplays are dead and the new ones aren't my thing. I wish it wasn't so lonely.

@whitefire YES!!!! I was hoping somebody would mention roleplay!!!!! I love rping, but all the ones I'm interested in, nobody else seems to be. Basically all the roleplays are dead. I've made some RPs, but I feel like nobody else enjoys them as much as me, and 99% of the time, I am waiting. I remember I used to get on, and all my RP buddies would be on too, and I could just roleplay for hours!! Now, even the most posted on RPs aren't frequently posted enough for me. Also, I like RPs with a plot, but all of them just seem to be a bunch of teens going around, and they have magic powers, but they don't do anything with them, they just go to school and be teens. AND ITS SOOOO BORING! I would like to start a RP with you, but my favorite types of roleplays are exactly what you said were your least favorite. 😃

I kinda understand why people quit so often, It feels like people are quitting in masses because of the way they are being treated, and some people on this site are really rude ~ Plus the under offering and overpricing is seriously irritating. to see commons going for the price of csps then when you try to confront people on their error in pricing they get very angry, call you dumb, and block you. . . After a while it does get VERY frustrating ~I have seen a user who Quit because other users were advising people not to trade or be associated w/ her. I don't understand it anymore why do people like that have to come and ruin all the fun we used to have~?? TT.TT WHY~?!!?

@Orderedchaos Lol, so true.
whitefire • 25 September 2013 at 8:06 AM
@SkittleJGWell then, I have a roleplay you might like, given the super-original title of "The Laboritory", but it's very much dead and if you wanted to join you'd have to sift through about five pages of recently posted topics. XDAnd yeah, it seems as though everybody just wants to do daily life roleplays, or roleplays that are about teens with special powers that just go around doing what normal teens do. I was a member of BlackRain Academy for a while, and it was pretty good for a "power-teen" roleplay, but nothing really happened and a bunch of people who couldn't seem to find the time to use proper grammar joined, so I quit. I know what you mean. All of the roleplays I'm interested are either dead or filled with people who won't use proper grammar. Nobody's interested in quality roleplay anymore, just the quantity of the people who join. It's so unfair that here we have great quality roleplays but half of them are dead because everybody is more interested in the "power-teen" roleplays and the ridiculous non-literate ones. Not to judge, though--some of the "power-teen" roleplays are really good; I'm just not interested in them.I'm kinda thinking of quitting if my roleplays continue to be inactive, as the only reason I've stayed on Eggcave for so long is the roleplays. If nobody wants to do the ones I'm interested in, I've no reason to stay.
cirrus • 25 September 2013 at 8:16 AM
@whitefire I like people with superpowers RPs, and even though there's a bunch of them, they're all daily life RPs, and lots of people have bad grammar. And I was in Blackrain Academy, but I quit because it got soooooooo boring! NOTHING EVER HAPPENED! I'll have to check out that one RP. I'm not going to quit Eggcave, I spent too much time and money on it, but I'm thinking of going on hiatus. 😋
whitefire • 25 September 2013 at 8:25 AM
@SkittleJGI've spent $5 total on Eggcave; no more no less. I have nothing to stay here for if all of my roleplays are dying and nobody's creating anything original anymore. So once my new Pokemon RP dies out--not IF but ONCE--I will quit, because my creatures will probably be immortal by then and that roleplay's all I've got left here anyway. And by "quitting" I probably mean "taking a loooong break" because I'm too addicted to stay away for long, and if I'm gone long enough somebody's bound to revive something. 😋 I'm tired of this silence, though, so I'm probably going to quit soon.
thenekosnyan • 25 September 2013 at 11:12 AM
@skittlejgadjkhjfhkjIt HAS been boring. No one I normally talk to isever on anymore, and EC did inflate there, but then it deflated even more....This is sort of how Neopets is now. There's different tiers in their trading, and all the good RPs have moved away (parshly because of rules) and just.Well.I've also tried to make characters for the few good RPs but had horrible character block and ended up just forgetting it, heh heh....What's even sadder is that next summer, it's more than likely that very few people are going to be online at all. It's sad to see this happening to another site. I really hope it doesn't completely poof out of existence, but...You can't really stop it.
blub • 27 September 2013 at 8:04 AM
@whitefire@skittlejgI've never been on the forums before, so mind telling me how roleplaying goes on here? (I honestly don't know how it goes online, I only know irl roleplaying 😋 )?
cirrus • 27 September 2013 at 11:18 AM
@blub Well, I probably won't give the best description, but just go on a roleplay that looks interesting, read all the rules and everything, them copy and paste the form, fill it out, and post. Wait until you get accepted, because sometimes they'll want you to change something about it, and then you can roleplay. Most people will want you to use correct grammar and spelling, but I see you've done that on your post. I'm not sure what else to say, but ask if you have anymore questions.
whitefire • 27 September 2013 at 9:25 PM
@BlubBasically it's writing a collaborative fiction. Do what @SkittleJG said, and create a character to fill out the form for, then just write about them as though you were writing a story. Most roleplays will let you have more than one character, but you can't control anybody else's. Just write a post about where your character is and what they're doing, post it, and when somebody responds and has their character interact with yours, type your character's response to the other person's actions, post it, and then wait for the other person's reply, and so on and so forth.
