David asked with a smile ask he opened his pack to get something "would either of you like some food I have more than just spam and bread I also have water. What would you like?" David asked the two girls that he saw.

Carly ascended the wooden latter. She left her empty supplies in the bomb shelter and took the supplies that still had use with her. When she finally reached the surface, Carly opened the hatch and let the bright light blind her. Though the sunlight hurt her eyes, she said under her breath "Light!!!! Sweet sweet light!!!!" She breathed in the almost fresh air, it felt much better than breathing in the dirt-ish air. The had wind picked up, blowing back her blonde hair. Finally, after a moment of silence, Carly stepped out of the hatch and onto the surface of the earth.

David waited for a reply from the two girls and nervously started talking "Are you guys the talking kind or not? I mean its a relief finding more than just me alive I saw another girl back near my bunker. But I.... We could use some company and some sort of society. We are all thats left We have to try to rebuild and repopulate but we can do that later."

Jade gaze upon the rubble that surrounded her. She slowly crept out of her shelter and let the door go. Gravity caused the hatch to slam close which made Jade jolt a little. She pushed a lock of hair behind her ear and took in a deep breathe of air. She sighed in relief. Jade started to walk, letting her boots thud on the loose dirt. She tightly griped her bag strap as she continued to venture.

Her eyes are a bright, blue color, and her skin is deathly pale, which practically glimmers like the moon during cold nights.

The odd girl was still staring at Ellie. It made her quite nervous. The man had walked up to the two of them and had offered food and water. She turned to him and " Oh! Erm, yes. Some food and water would be nice" She replied as she nervously shifted away from the soul-piercing gaze of the girl. "Your the first person I've seen since, well....her"

David reached into his pack and pulled out a loaf of bread some sliced cheese and meat along with a water bottle "here have this" he said as he broke the bread into two pieces and handed it to both of the girls along with the meat, cheese and water bottle "What's your name? as I said before I'm David. How long have you been out of your bomb shelter?" David asked as he munched on some cheese.

Carly looked at her surrounds, she seemed to be in a forest. Although the bomb had hit, there were still squirrels and others animals scurrying about. She started to wander the forest, and then through the trees, she saw a demolished city that once stood proudly. Carly did not bother to go to the city since it was practically destroyed. She kept wandering the forest......

Voices, voices. There were voices everywhere. This was new... Vincent never imagined hearing voices before. Curiosity was getting the better of him, and after a cautionary look around he jumped drown from his perch. He keeps low to the ground, not wanting to be seen, and slowly follows the sounds closest...
He comes to a slight ridge above a decline and peers over the edge, spotting a group of three people. He hears the male calling himself David. For a moment Vincent is stunned... He didn't understand how, but he knew they were normal. Well, maybe besides one of the females. That made no sense, no one normal should be left. He finds himself pushing the odd thought of attacking them out of his mind. He didn't want to hurt anyone, why was this urge to do the opposite so strong? He struggles to keep a hold on himself, but wins the mental battle....For now. Silently he sits on his haunches, like a dog, watching the group from the ridge. However twitching he has no control over causes some gravel to come loose and noisily slide down the ridge. He remains still and silent in his watching.

@spiritkoi - Actually, the hydrogen bomb as discussed earlier would have caused too much radiation for plants to grow back in the area for many, many years. Usually when a bomb like that hits, the explosion pretty well wipes out everything living in the area at ground zero. Anything else that manages to survive is affect severely by the radiation and fall out of the bomb or in this case, the virus. Of course, this is a fictional RP and there are some plot holes within the story that even I see, however I'm happy to try and push those aside for the time being... I'm not expert on the subject, but I did a bit of research for you. ;3 Hope that helps!

Chase sat in the corner of his underground bunker, unresponsive at first by the echoing noises above the ground. His legs were spread out in front of him and his head was tilted off to the side, staring at a large, darkened stain across the concrete floor. He didn't dare to move his gaze pass the bed frame which housed something his mind didn't want to remember from long ago.

He could hear a faint noise- a muffled buzzing, and for a moment he felt his mind was playing tricks on him again. But to his surprise it continued and, in fact, had become louder. His head slowly and weakly turned upwards towards the noise and his mouth opened to swallow down some sticky saliva that was built up in the back of his throat. He hadn't tasted liquid in hours...or maybe even days. It certainly felt like days to him.

Gradually, he stood on his bare feet and limped over to the ladder that led to the surface and to the door that held freedom to all who opened it. But he couldn't open it. Not after what hit just a few months ago. Maybe it was even years. Time seemed to always melt and blur in the bunker.

Still curious about the noise though, he climbs the ladder with a bit of difficulty and notices the weakness in his muscles from being down here so long as he does. Struggling to finally make it to the top, he placed his ear to the door-like hatch. Muffled sounds. They stopped and started; some were louder and softer, but he couldn't make out what they were.

'Strange.' He thought to himself.

His hand reached for the latch on the hatch. Wow, he was actually shaking as he gripped the cold metal. He didn't know if it was from fear or excitement, but in one swift and instinctual movement he pushed up on the door, getting a face full of bright sunlight as he did. His eyes shut instantly to protect them from the blinding rays and he winced a little from the rays that had already reached his eyes before he could close them.

The muffled sounds became clear as day as soon as the door had opened. It was voices. People's voices. By the sounds of it a male and two females...

David heard the clunk of a bunker door slam open and he started toward the noise. "Another survivor" he thought gladly as he came upon the open door of another bunker with a man standing in the entrance way. "Hey you what's your name?" David asked trying to get his attention.

As Carly continued to wander the forest, a squirrel scampered and stopped right in front of Carly. Carly stopped in her tracks, not wanting to scare off the squirrel since it was technically the only food around. She bent her knees slightly, getting ready to spring and pounce onto the squirrel. When the right moment came, Carly sprung and leaped at the squirrel. But sadly, the squirrel was quick and ran away just when Carly was about to get it. Unfortunately for Carly, she fell face first into the dirt ground.

Ellie graciously accepted the food from the man named David. She ate it fast and ravounisly, she hadn't eaten in what seemed like forever. Infact, Ellie was so starved she ignored creepy girl entirely. The slam of steel echoed from somewhere nearby. David took off running to see what it was. Another person perhaps? She then realized that now she was all alone with the girl...

Jade stopped where she was. A thud sound came from behind her. She held her breathe as she turned to she what it was. The hair on the back of her neck stood up. She gazed upon a girl who had face planted into the dirt. Jade let out her breathe in relief and walked over to her "Um, are you okay?" She asked the girl with laughter in her voice.

He thinks, for the moment forgetting about the bomb... He stays up on the ridge.

Carly got up and spitted out some dirt. "Yea, I'm fine. This dirt SURE tastes GREAT!" Carly responded sarcastically to the girl. She brushed off some more dirt from her clothes and said "That darn squirrel. I will get him one day!" Then she looked back at the girl, "Well then, I suppose your a survivor too? Oh, I almost forgot. I'm Carly and I do not live off of squirrels."

When Chase's eyes had fully adjusted to the bright sun's rays, they focused in on a gentleman peering into his bunker. The towering figure spooked him, causing him to jump back in an uncontrollable action. He let go of the ladder rail he was holding, causing his body to fall back. Realizing his mistake, he reached out and grabbed the rail again to keep himself from falling.

"My...name?" Chase repeated back, his voice a bit raspy.

He had not spoken in awhile, so it took more effort to talk to the stranger.

"It's Chase." He responded finally.

As a quiet growl came from the back of her throat, Rae stifled it with a bite into the food the guy had handed them. "Rae... my name. What is yours?" she managed to shove out, her mouth feeling dry and empty, making it hard to speak. The taste of precious food filled her senses and she gave out a trembling sigh.

Ezra carefully wandered around, hoping to god someone would be alive to help him, he couldn't let Izzy die. She was all he had and she had saved his life in the first place. After all, when she had forced him into the shelter, her arm had gotten impaled by a piece of metal that had fallen off. He shook his head and carried on, brushing it off. All he could do now was search for something to keep her from losing too much blood. His pant leg caught on a rock and he slammed into the remains of a destroyed tree. Pushing himself off, he tool a breath and continued with the feeble hope of other survivors.

"Um...Names Ellie" said Ellie hesitantly. This "Rae" seemed a bit off to her. Most normal people don't growl at their food. Her skin crawled when she realized that the girls was covered with blood. Shiny, velvet, liquid. Was she injured? How on earth did was she just standing there so casually? And most of all, how did she not notice it before? "Are you ok?!" cried Ellie.

Vincent watches the strange group silently. For a moment he considers leaving, but decides against it.

Victor is wandering aimlessly, having no landmarks to show him his route... Annoyed he glares around, wanting to shout something about the Mayor's poor job with the city. ...Then he notices something... A distant hatch way it looked like.
"Hmmmm" he mutters curiously and approaches it. It was a bomb shelter of some sort... He peered inside the dark room, the sent of blood was thick in the spent air, and a gas mask lay on the ground. Further in he saw what appeared to be a female, an injured one at that. He tilts his head,
"Why hello there... Are you still alive? Or am I talking to a dead person and wasting my time?" he narrows his eyes, trying to focus in the poor light.

Ellie wasn't sure she believed the girl when she said she was alright. Rae had a twisted grin and an eye that twitched repeatedly. She was quite convinced Rae was mad. Perhaps all this isolation had driven her insane. Maybe she had forgotten how to act normal around people. "Do you have any friends around here? Or are you all alone?" Ellie asked?

Izzy clenched her eyes tight to keep them closed, inhaling sharply as pain in her arm struck her. Although she heard voices, she ignored them, focusing on blocking the pain so she could get uo the energy to face her brother. "What do you wa- You're not Ezra..." she glared accusingly at the intruder, her eyes landing on the mailbag - red covering it, and then sliding to the belt. She pushed herself back, wary of this strange guy. "Who are you, where is my brother?" she whispered, afraid of what could have happened to him.

"Friends?" she wondered, thinking in concentration and looking around. After a moment of hesitation, she answered. "You- you are my... friend."
Her bloody hand reached out and grabbed her arm, holding it tightly.

"Ohh, so you have a brother?" he asks in a doubtful tone,
"Then tell me... What is his name? I may have some letters for him." He waits for a moment then realizes he hadn't gotten her name or given his own,
"The names Victor Bell, Ma'am. What's yours?" his tone is polite but hinted with dark.

Friends? Ellie was taken aback. Not quite sure how to respond really. It was all a bit awkward feeling. Rae had a very tight grip on her arm, a bloody grip. It almost hurt really, and prevented her from running. "Uh...yup friends..." Said Ellie shakily as she reached for the can of pepper spray in the side pocket of her pack.

By now David had made it back to Rae and Ellie unsure if Chase was following "So how long have you been out of your bunker?" David asked to no one particular just looking for an answer David pulled out some meat and started eating it waiting for a response. David let his mind wander just kinda drifting then just he fell for some unknown reason.

Chase climbed up one more ladder rail and cautiously peered out over the edge of his man-made hole. There were specific sights he remembered about the world above, falsely hoping that maybe they would still be there when he got out. Unfortunately for him, the sights were completely different. It was as if he was in a completely different world. Most of the buildings were destroyed into huge chunks of multicolored rocks, except for one that seemed to catch his eye.

It wasn't very tall. It's backside had been slightly demolished from the building behind it, but other than that it seemed in relatively good condition. Sitting on its roof, just barely noticeable, was a young man perched like a bird at the very edge of it. He was looking down and observing two girls below him.

He wasn't sure why, but something was off about him. He just didn't know what yet.

Trembling weakly, Chase pulled himself out of the bunker and onto the asphalt of the road. He laid there a moment, breathing in the fresh, crisp air, before using the palms of his hands and pushing himself up and off the hard surface. He looked around for David before he got distracted, seeing him just over his left walking towards the two girls, and proceeded to follow him.

The limp he had was still present as he walked, but he tried to hide it as best as he could. His gaze looked back up towards the strange man above them while he followed David and a shiver worked his way up his spine. 'Not normal.' He thought to himself as he walked.

David reached the two girls and asked how long everyone had been out of their bunkers. Chase didn't really answer. He felt the answer was pretty obvious. Instead, his gaze set on the bread David was eating. He was beginning to stare. Catching himself, he looked back towards the girls for a response.

/Thud/

He heard something fall next to him, not very long after either, and turned to see David on the ground. He instantly backed up, keeping his distance from him. Was he dying? Was he dead? Something was definitely wrong with him. No matter what though, he didn't want to be the one to check him out.
