My first attempt at a roleplay here xx Please join 😃

{Plot}

What if your mind was warped beyond the point of being able to make a conscious decision at will? Warped to the point that you can only serve the one pullig the right strings, or to protect a person that you were bonded to? Such a fate could only be in mind for the worst offenders of society... Or the poor unfortunate soul that wandered too far from home.

These beings were named Saints; each was assigned to one individual person, and they would have no choice but to protect that person with all their might. Even if it meant sacrificing themselves in the process, they would do so. However, if their 'bond' died before them, the Saint would either go into coma or an unstoppable fit of rage.

A Saint bore no special powers, only the unbreakable will to protect, and the basic skills of survival. But, if it were up to you, would you protect? Or would be protected?


*Just because Saints have become shells of humans, does not mean they cannot function properly. It is virtually impossible to tell the two apart unless the Saint has been particularly uncooperative during his/her training*

Personality: He his hard edged and mean. As a Saint he seems to remember most of his older life, but because of this often fights random fits of rages. He has a short temper and likes things to get to the point quickly
Appearance: Brown hair, very messy and unkept. He has green eyes and a scar running across his cheek.
History: Cabel was collected at the tender age of 15 when he ran away from his alcoholic father. Going through training, at first he was rebellious, but then learnt that giving in meant retaining more of his sanity.

Appearance: She has a black pixie cut with neon blue highlights, hazel eyes. Likes to wear dark-colored clothes and her favorite blue sneakers.
History: Her mother was killed in a freak accident and was forced to live with her mentally deranged father. When he was taken into a psychiatric hospital, she moved in with her grandparents.

Age: 17
Gender: Male

Protectee: Marek
Appearance: Of average height (5'9), often blending in with the crowd, as he is nothing special to look at. A lean and properly muscled, athletic figure- visibly strong. Disheveled obisidian hair, cut shortly to reach no lower than his ears and a cover a bit of his forehead as well. Eyes are a neon green hue. Fair skin, accentuating his otherwise bright features and contrasting to the black bird's nest on his head. His left arm is entirely missing, replaced by a metal substitute, which seldom functions properly.
Personality: Pale skin, dark hair - the combination suggests a gloomy attitude. In short, he's often expected to be outwardly emo. Yet he's out-going and laid back, seemingly always optimistic and capable of seeing the bright side of the dark side, so to say. Over-protective of friends, to the point of self-destruction. Used to be easy to manipulate, by using the foolish kindness he has against him, though the rough training of a Saint hardened his character. He still possesses his good nature and kindness, though lacks happiness. A calm boy in general, rarely coming across as quarrelsome. Anger, however, is a state he doesn't handle well. Only when he reaches his ultimate boiling point does he let all the steam out - he shouts, trashes, attacks. This anger is poured upon only those who deserve it.
History: Born in a well-off family with an older brother that looked similar to him. Lost his arm in a car crash at the age of 13 and carried on through life single-handedly (no pun intended). He was severely handicapped (the dominant hand being his left) and both Mr and Mrs Waltz fervently refused to take proper care of him. His older sibling was a troublemaker, but was significantly stronger and more intelligent, being their father's pride and joy. So when he was issued for Saint training, they sent Alekzander instead of his sibling, thinking the handicapped boy would look enough like his brother to pass. He received a subtitute limb at the beginning of his training and excelled at it, regaining some of his happy personality.

Name: Declan Bikha
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Rank: Saint
Protectee: Cybelle Dover?
Personality: A little too overprotective of himself. The many years he spent in training proved to be hardy, what with his constant rebellion against the system. He often ended up rceiving the bitter end of his arguing. This made him wary - trust issues are a given and he often turns aggressive or rude upon any attempt to be delved into or when he's questioned too thoroughly. He's definitely less hostile when it comes to casual socializing - can hold a normal conversation if he's sure he'll never meet the person ever again. When in a large group, he makes sure to appear timid and unapproachable to deflect anyone's desire to talk to him - because let's be honest, who'd want to talk to a brooding dark kid?
Appearance: Very much on the short side, often blending efortlessly into the crowd (and boy, does he love that ability of his), with a slim built, slightly packed with a little bit muscle, but not excessively so. Medium tanned skin, dark brown hair in slight waves (often unkempt and left to hang in dirty locks) and chocolate eyes, his features mostly blending together - nothing special to look at, though he is slightly handsome under the unkempt hair.
History: Lived a lonesome life, mainly because he had no known parents, except the adoptive familias he was switched to from time to time. By the time he reached 16, he subjected himself to Saint training, tired of the pointless life he lead, wanting to be useful to somebody.

Name: Danielle Shelenberger
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Rank: Saint
Personality: Fierce and strong - She is not your typical "damsel in distress" as one would call it. She is used to caring for herself most of the time, so being on her own doesn't bother her as much as other girls. Knowledgeable in some combat, but prefers to use manipulating- and sometimes plain harsh- words to harm her enemies if possible. (Spreading gossip and such) Though it diminished a bit when becoming a Saint, she still enjoys various activities that suit her girly tastes. Romantic dinners, planning events, shopping, baking- and the list goes on. She enjoys being around friends, but over the years has become rather attached to them to the point of being known as the "annoying worry-wort".
Appearance: Danielle only stands at about 5' 5", but is athletically built in her upper body and lower limbs. There is a visible curve to her body yet it isn't as dramatic as the perfect hourglass figure. Her thighs, much to her distaste, are thick while the rest of her seems to stay thin. She has naturally long, straight dirty-blonde hair that stops just past her "bust" area. Her eyes are a tint of light brown, making them a odd rusty color from far away. Her skin, though not deathly pale, is a light peach color with a bit of tan in it from being out in the sun.
History: RPing out...? I'm lazy. Haha.

Name: Kevin Heist
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Rank: Protected
Personality: Kevin has a lot of different traits to his person; some good and some bad. He puts up a bad-boy front to impress his friends, getting into all sorts of trouble with them that makes even his mother get wrinkles. Alone though, he acts like a completely different person. Quiet, sweet, and a hard worker are some of the traits people living around him would say. Most people simply think its a case of hanging around the wrong crowd. Despite acting tough, he doesn't know much about defending or fighting. If he were to run into the wrong group of people, there would be major problems for him and his friends. But he doesn't let up on telling them that.
Appearance: He has short brown hair, that is cut long on the top-front and short around the sides. When not covered by sunglasses, his eyes are a green-grey color. He stands tall, about 6' 2", but is rather lean, almost scrawny looking, despite it. His skin is slightly tanned from enjoying the sun too much, making it a bit darker than Danielle's.
History: RPing out...? I'm lazy. Haha.

@aizel - I think if you guys can work it out for yourselves you guys can pair up by choosing. I need a protectee as well, unless I want to make my own character... Also, Saints do not necessarily need a protectee - they can be in training or in line for someone who needs one.

Personality: More than anything, Cybele hates listening to other people. In her opinion, no one has the right to tell her to do anything, and she's stubborn to the point where she will straight up refuse demands even if she knows following would be to her benefit. Of course, she's incredibly bossy and will basically throw a tantrum like a little girl if things don't go her way, then she'll turn up her nose, pick up her skirts like a princess and flounce off. She isn't stupid, in fact, she has quite a mind for strategy, her favorite pastimes including draughts and chess, as well as scrabble and riddles in general... Only she hates losing them, and while that isn't usually a problem, she's not above flipping over the table if things get dire. Cybele is really a huge coward at heart, and easily frightened, the reason for her growing the competitive streak, which unfortunately had pretty much the opposite of the desired effect; now people just think she's childish and immature. In order to appear more capable, she will go out of her way to make the acquaintance of those she thinks are weaker than herself. Although all this makes her seem really mean, she isn't so bad if you get to know her, and don't mind forfeiting all the board games you ever play. While she cares a lot about winning, material possessions and money mean very little to her, and she isn't overly concerned about the appearance of things... The only exception is cake.
Appearance: Mid-long length blonde hair she likes to keep in pigtails, and eyes a clear grayish-blue. Her face has a rather round shape and pale complexion, while her body is slim and petite, with a bit of a lack of womanly assets, a fact that she is rather bitter about secretly. In spite of her fiery attitude, she has a sweet and demure look about her, increasing the overall impression of a little girl. Her features are pleasing, but not remarkable.
History: Cybele belongs to an extraordinarily rich family. She has two kind, wonderful, adoring parents who are absolutely never at home. Their jobs are in the travel and hospitality regions, and they don't so much as spend time working but "assessing the quality of their services." An only child, Cybele was brought up solely by servants who couldn't disobey her orders... Hence one awfully spoiled child. If she was easier to get along with, or looked just a bit more her age, her parents would have gotten her married off already.

{Rae is an ivory-skinned 17 year old girl with freckles dotting her face. Her hair is a fiery, bright ginger, long down to her chest. Rae has bright piercing green eyes. She is bubbly and confident, she doesn't care what people think about her mostly but she can be self conscious at times. She mostly wears t-shirts and skirts but sometimes wears skinny jeans and a leather jacket instead - often experimenting with her image. Her mom died when she was 10, she got trapped under a collapsed burning building. This caused Rae to become deathly terrified of fire and goes a little crazy when near it.}

She enjoys being 'one of the guys' and typically doesn't get along with other girls her own age, seeing that she thinks that most of them are two-faced and conceited. Izzy doesn't care what people thing about her so she typically lives by her own rules. Often not one for sappy romance and such, she tries to avoid relationships. Her father had always taught her to take care of herself and he wasn't the most reliable father. For that reason, and because she had never even met her mother, Izzy had come to be very independent and afraid of commitment.}

Guys, so far we have 4 Saints and 3 Protected. Do you guys want to pair up yourselves, (saint and Protected) or do you want me to?

If the numbers are uneven, I will just make another Protected character, or if someone desperately wants 3 characters, they can make one. 😃

@asi - Yeah, that's a good idea, however, most Saints already have someone to protect, and they are like body guards, but follow their protected even if it costs them their life. Perhaps, all of the protected go to the same school (some high profile school for rich kids) and the Saints are enrolled there, no matter the age?

Age: 16
Gender: Male
Rank: Protected
Personality: Reckless and willful, Marek doesn't care much about other people, or the consequences of his actions. He is instinctively distrustful of people, most especially his Saint (he finds it difficult to understand that his Saint has to protect him). He constantly assumes the worst of people and 'tests' everyone around him by being purposefully cruel to see how they will react.

Marek enjoys solitude, and likes reading and long-distance running.

Appearance: Dark, short hair and flat brown eyes. He has caramel skin and is tall and lean (to the point of being skinny)

History: Marek's mother's is very wealthy and his father comes from a poor family. As his parents never planned to have a child they are distant and never seem to know what to do with Marek. As a result, they often left him behind and traveled the world. Marek was raised mostly by his uncle (his father's poor brother) who attempted to convince Marek to sign over his inheritance. When his uncle's plan failed,he tried to kill Marek and Marek has been distrustful of people ever since.

I support the Asi man's idea. Interactions would be hilarious and more convenient than having to pretend that the Protected and Saint know each other. I'm also interested in how we'll go about this -- do they meet for the first time now or?

I'd offer Alek since he's more likely to click with Marek, although he does have his own flaws and anger issues. XD I feel like since Declan and Marek are both distrustful and gloomy, the relationship between the two would be of pure hate. XD

That I might hazard a hope that you are not opposed to the formation of a working relationship of sorts between the characters formerly known as Declan Bikha and Cybele Dover?
Because that's my way of saying, "It's only you and me now, kiddo". I think those characters are all that's left ^^"

Yes, mainly because we roleplay together.

Yes, I was pondering whether or not to ask about pairing them up too, because they seem like they'd hate the absolute HECK out of each other in a very non-murderous way (not necessarily though - Cybelle's totally able to murder Declan, I think. I doubt she'd give a crap if he died. xD). Plus, they're opposites - Declan's dumb and dumbly fearless, since the dude's a partial nihilist and that implies he's... well, just too much of a nonchalant little effup to weigh down his fights and enemies, so he ends up a bit beat up most of the times.

Technically, he'd yell at her for being a brat and she'd yell at him for being an idiot that endangers her life more often than protecting it.

OH THE FUN WE WILL HAVE. 8'D

Nah, I meant that he can't kill her, but she can kill him. She's kind of able to, while he'd pretty much self-destruct I think if he tried to stab her or smth... no matter how much he wanted to. xD If she annoys him too much, he'd probs commit suicide idk.
And ah, it wouldn't reassure me, I just kind of know she wouldn't care about /the person/ that died as much as the sight... Idk.

Personality: Arrogant and egotistical, she refuses to be proven wrong. Once Sylvia believes in something, she will keep believing in that same thing even if proof is thrown against her. She stands tall, thinking herself better than most others. Loud towards what she believes in, calm and collected about what she doesn't care about. The girl is hard to please, but also curious about the world, and life in general. Intelligent and clever, she seeks knowledge. Once you get past her hard outer shell you can find a sweet core no matter how small it is. She's afraid of spiders and other hairy insects.
Appearance: She has wavy dark hair that reaches her elbows. Shorter strands of her hair frames her face, contrasting highly with her pale skin. Sylvia has bangs that cover most of her left eye. Her eyes are a dark, emerald green that's also blended with other shades of the same color. Sylvia is thin and tall. She normally wears baggy, loose and dark clothing, masking some of her curves.
History: She was born in a semi-wealthy family. She has an older brother that was born a few years before her. When Sylvia was born, everything went downhill. Her father and mother would argue and when the girl was 3, they divorced. Her brother went with her father and she stayed with her mother.
