Hi eggcavers, staff, and Ian!
This is my creature suggestion, the Xathos!

About Xathos Eggs:
Xathos are a species of ghostly cats. Xathos eggs are sticky, but smell so good! Although, you don't want to touch them for too long, because they might start to feel uncomfortable and emit an awfully bitter smell that they keep under their shell... and it can sometimes be poisonous!

More About the Xathos:
Xathos are found in southwestern Ark. They stay in groups of around 10 and love to prank owners, other species, and play games. During Autumn, all the Xathos come to the Halloween Fair to steal things and scare people at the booths. Young Xathos are known to be especially athletic and strong. The older Xathos are lazy and are known to wander off to other groups, leaving their family without care. Instead of milk when they are young, Xathos drink blood from their mother's body. When they have no blood, Xathos neglectfully drink water from the south sea of Ark. Although it seems weird at first, they have a diet of grass, leaves, and trees! The only other species Xathos have fun with and do not prank are Encalops. You definitely do not want to be pranked by both Encalops and Xathos at the same time!

I'm still just starting this egg cave business, but I actually quite like these pings. 😋

Anyway, I like the idea! Since you mention candy corn, why not add colours like a candy corn? Not to mention the ghost part, which could be reflected in wispy bits all over and stuff. Did that makes sense? Sometimes I ramble. XD

Sweetheart, it's fine if you ping me. Personally, I'm flattered that you consider me a close enough friend to ping me, 😃

I like the idea of varying shades of gray and white, with maybe another color to add highlighting (kind of like the Spookcat with the green, gray, white, and black). Personally, I like jewel-tones, so I'm going to suggest colors like garnet crimson, indigo sapphire, and deep royal purple (and possibly forest green emerald).

Ooh, what if the colors deepen and increase in saturation/hue as the creature ages? Or maybe it fades away? That'll be different from the usual, continuous color scheme for creatures, 😊

I like the idea. I am not too fond of having the egg stage be candy corn colored. In my mind, I like the idea of having the egg stage be mostly white/grey with highlights or accents of the candy corn colors and with each stage becoming more colored and less white/grey. But I think since it is a ghost cat, having that ghost aspect in the coloring for the egg and first stage would be pretty cool.

Does that make sense?

Thank you for looking at my topic, I had actually already voted that I love your creature suggestion. It's so adorable and the ghosts as a tail idea is just fabulous. Plus it's cute but also spooky at the same time ❤️ I hope to seem it made this time around at halloweentime! Good luck to you 😃


Oh and I think the color should be black, it's the black cats that are more associated with Halloween and bad luck 😊

I was thinking on making it a light candy corn color in egg stage, and then as it evolves, the colors will show more! 😊

i suggest, that the egg should be, orange and white, the 2nd stage should be it crouching with claws extended, and the last stage should be, it sitting up, its claws made of candy corn and, its tail stays one tail the whole time.
