Slowing Down Restocking at the Travel Shop

@poof Seriously? You don't know how much some of us have "complained" about things in the past! When the Travel Agency started to restock more frequently it was something some people had wanted for a very long time. And now you want to change it back to something you don't even know what it was like? Why oh why would that upset some people, you think?

I understood you just fine. Yours is a "select group" as well, if we are going to use that term. There really is no difference.

Oh, and I just checked the Donation Center. Empty as always.

@silverserpent I actually meant before the current rate. Not way back, since I wasnt here in 2009.
I know my english isnt perfect alright. But I try.

Sadly, even just one person, or two or three or even 20+ people donating to the Donation Center isn't going to make it a worthy reason to stop the current rate of travel restocking. There just isn't enough people that actually donate that would make it justifiable to revert back to the original restock rate.

That still doesn't change the fact that clearly some users did have problems getting any sort of decent travels even before the last change.

It's pretty much always empty unless someone's clearing out unwanted travels. xD

@mychelle I didnt give it as reason. I honestly just said that because Ive been donating on and off for a few days now. I did not mean for it to become a reason behind my argument. Sorry if you thought so.

@silverserpent Do you think thats because of snipers? Im wondering, because I dont really know myself. Guess its a bit hard to see it from other peoples view, since like I said before, I havent really had any trouble with it.

Honestly, Ive been here since 2012. And I only ever have seen one travel in there. And it was a Wet Stream. I remember that because like I said, it was the only one Ive ever seen there!

It seemed like you were bringing it up, as a reason why we should quit complaining. Otherwise, I didn't see it really much of a point to bring up in the first place given the current conversation.

@poof Snipers have been known to hoover up travels everywhere, even the Donations Center. Nothing surprises me.

I've only seen travels there once and it was because I happened to see a post in the blog comments about a user about to dump travels in there. She really poured out those travels but they were mostly common, semi unpopular ones, but they were all gone within minutes.

@mychelle I brought it up because I dont like donating travels only for one person to grab them. Ive had it happen often enough. Which is why, as Im typing this, Im donating travels as well.

@silverserpent The travel snipers here remind me of neo, which is why I can see why you like the new rate. Less chance of one person getting all the travels, correct?

@poof Exactly. The Travel Agency was very much like NeoPets for quite a long while and it wasn't nice at all. I quit Neo because I got sick and tired of that mentally. I really don't want Egg Cave to become a Neo copy. *shudder*

If EggCave were to become a Neo copy, Id quit. So much I dislike on Neo, eugh.

The only reason I still go on every now and then is to keep my UC robot ixi account from locking me out. I like that thing way too much. e.e

People are still getting a good amount for travels. I've been paying the exact amounts that I have been paying since I started. It was harder back before now to get travels for what I thought fair. Travels are travels not much to them and when people ask fora Ton when they are available I dislike it, easy or not to get people ask a ton. I still see like Goldentrees go for like 6o,ooo to 1oo,oooEC and I always thought that unfair and didn't trade with people wanting that much, now it's easier to find reasonable prices for travels I like/use a ton. I still miss travels in the TA like a few others but it helps with more restocks because there are those who get like all the travels and then want a ton more, like new ones, those are easier to get now when people were like getting like over 1 Mil, I mean really? They're in the TA and don't retire for awhile -.- Now I can get em cheaper or myself.

One of my biggest fears when Egg Cave introduced CC was that it would become just like Neo. Thankfully, Egg Cave is still a lot, lot friendlier. 😊

@immortalraven I don't think I've seen Goldentree Meadows in the TA for over a year. The ultra rare travels and above are still really rare, at least to me.

@poof There are similarities, but the possibility to trade makes it more fair here on Egg Cave. Especially if we (finally!!) get CC trades. I look forward to that. It's something I've waited years for. 😊

@immortalraven I've seen Fairy World a few times, but nothing else. I only have one Goldentree Meadows in my inventory so I'm saving it for something really special. x)

I started this discussion because I joined in December, so I saw how bad the TA was before the restocking was. However, I still got travels, because while I was in the middle of feeding or having a conversation with someone, I'd skip over to the TA to see if there were any travels I wanted. If there was, I'd buy it.

It's the same now, but it's more hoarding, because everyone jumps on the users looking to buy travels. There's no point in hoarding travels either for a rainy day when you desperately need this particular travel for your new favorite creature, or in the hopes of making a slight profit off of how much EC you sunk into buying travels.

Also, if you were having problems with prices, why didn't you wait for a few people to offer prices before accepting one? I tend to bide my time to find the right price or to restock the travel myself. Most of my creatures are travel-less, because I couldn't be bothered outfitting them with a travel...

The algorithm for "bargaining" for travels here is much easier to work around than in Neopets, so I don't believe restocking is an issue.
