Because theya) Clog up spaceb) Opens up usernamesc) Opens up namesThere are some obviously inactive accounts floating around, and why keep them? I propose deletion notice (provided that the user has no alive creatures) after 8 months, then after 3 months, without reply, there is deletion. There could be old users without time still out there, which refers to creatures, and users making comebacks. We could use the space for new features in Egg Cave! Also, I want the username @midnight βΉοΈ

I AGREE @pendmxc lots of people want different usernames but are taken you could tell @ian

mangyrawr • 16 August 2011 at 3:41 AM
BUMP π NEEDS MORE PEOPLE TO REPLY keep going with this @pendmxc good luck hope @ian would do something
dionaea • 16 August 2011 at 3:43 AM
This is a good idea, I especially like the long response time π And it's true, especially with the level 2000 creatures becoming immortal, that it's necessary to delete old inactive accounts...
sotheavey • 16 August 2011 at 3:45 AM
bump

Yeah...

Totally, and the friend list would become long and filled with eggless profile names. Once I just went through all my freinds and deleted the ones without a profile picture.
Kwah! Agreements made! Please bump, everybody, and let's a-go-go!
mangyrawr • 16 August 2011 at 3:55 AM

BUMP OF COOKIES π steals @pendmxc cookie
evolutary • 16 August 2011 at 4:15 AM
In my opinion, it's rude to delete someone's account (inactive or not) just for names. I actually don't really mind if they delete inactive accounts or not, I'm just sayingπ
chibiloki88 • 16 August 2011 at 4:22 AM
@pendmxc i agree, but i think it maybe should be a little longer. i know some people study abroad or something for about a year and may not be able to get on. but the idea as a core is a good one i think. especially since eggs can be immortal now, so you can have creatures that never get fed and have 0 happiness forever on accounts now. its not a bad proposal π
mangyrawr • 16 August 2011 at 4:24 AM
@evolutary dont blame ya but still I HAVE @pendmxc 's cookeh and yea π BOTH WAYS ARE RIGHT π
Deleted • 16 August 2011 at 4:30 AM
@evolutaryIt's not for names, rather it's for space and management. Name s is just an add-on bonus, you could say. Besides, what are they to do with all of those accounts lying around? There are notices, and even perhaps e-mail notices before they delete them. Therefore, they have a lot of notice before deletion!
smilies • 16 August 2011 at 4:30 AM
Yeah, like how many of the users on the scoreboard thing are inactive? O_o That isn't REALLY how many ppl are on Eggcave....
mangyrawr • 16 August 2011 at 4:32 AM

smilies • 16 August 2011 at 4:35 AM
@pendmxc Click on the big Eggcave logo. It says 33,580users549,979creatures created1,076,624creature views (yesterday)596,353,674creature views (all time)How many of those users quit? xD
Deleted • 16 August 2011 at 4:36 AM
@smiliesWell, we should probably clean up those who did! Search up Midnight. All of those people quit O_o
smilies • 16 August 2011 at 4:37 AM
@pendmxc Yeah... Also then I wouldn't have to clean my friend list π
dionaea • 16 August 2011 at 4:47 AM
This is also necessary due to the fact that there are a lot of people who join for like a day and then decide they don't like the site and leave, there are a lot of accounts like this, which are clogging the system and sometimes keeping some very nice names occupied. I'd rather have them deleted sooner than later...*eyes a name one of these one-day-flies took a month ago*I know of one user who joined somewhat over a month ago, hogged a couple of nice names and never even fed their pets! One of them still had 0 feeds when I found the account...@smiliesTrue, there's no way we have 33k active users.@Chibiloki88Studying abroad where? On the moon? Just logging in once in 8 months should be achievable, even in countries with less internet access or you could ask someone to log in for you, anyway if nobody logs in for 8 months all <2000 creatures will die as well, doesn't show a lot of care...@evolutaryIt's not just for the names, they are clogging up the system. Though the names aren't a bad thing, names are scarce after all, lets just call it a positive side-effect.
evolutary • 16 August 2011 at 4:52 AM
True. I wonder how much active members Egg Cave has?
Deleted • 16 August 2011 at 4:53 AM
@dionaeaLol on the moon. Maybe in the Alps... but, then again, internet is gradually being global in the World Revolution. Oh gawd. I'm applying knowledge to real-life situations! XP
mangyrawr • 16 August 2011 at 5:03 AM
I wonder how much egg cave members quit
dionaea • 16 August 2011 at 5:08 AM
@mangrawrA lot, I deleted almost half of my friend list at some point... I am 100% sure there are less then 10000 active accounts on here, since at least half the people I knew quit, if you extrapolate this to the entire site, it's 16000 and then there are the one-day-flies I mentioned before, which nobody even knows (until you find out the creature name you want is taken). So I think considerably less than 10000...
