Kumatora, slowly eating the large chunk of cow meat she brought back to the tree, watched the other wolves. They seemed to be introducing themselves.
(Mph, why should I join in? Wait until those little buggers approach me first. Then I shall reveal myself. I've been stuck in here for too long...)
She listened in for their names. Firefly, and Rue. And over there was Venom. The black wolf's blood red eyes continued to glare at the other three wolves.

I scowl at the wolf who is speaking to me. "Icy," I say, my muscles tensing. "Do NOT come near me. I already hate you, more or less. The other wolves here are too lively. They don't know what's in it for them. I have been here for two years. Experienced it all - it's not pretty."

I shove past the other, younger wolves and stuck my snout into the cow's carcass, ripping out as many bits of meat as I can. Most of it is already gone, and I break apart one of the cow's ribs, sucking on the marrow. Yum.

Kumatora rolled her eyes. The wolf named Icy seemed to be commenting on what happens here every day. Well, Kuma had experienced it too. She was the second wolf to be captured for these experiments, and had been here for way too long now. She's even experienced the death of the few wolves she would actually communicate to. Death by the experimental humans, nothing else. Kumatora had it lucky compared to them; she had only ever lost a leg. The newcomer wolves had no idea what they were in for. There was once a little wolf pup who Kuma tried to protect. He always yelped in fear at every experiment. Kumatora had actually forced the humans to release him against their will, and isn't afraid to do that again. The black wolf gnarled again, and flew back down to the lake. She took another drink, lapping up the cool, refreshing water.

Sorry, I got a little too carried away. x_x 'Kuma' is just a nickname for Kumatora that I'll use from time to time.

I go up to take a nap on a rock. As I close my eyes my back starts to itch. Ugh, stupid experiments. I'm finally in a good sleep but I wake up to my back itching worse than a thousand mosquitos. Now the itching is gone but it's soon replaced with a ticklish feeling. In at least 30 seconds I have black wings along with neon rainbow spots. One I see is neon yellow and another is electric blue. I flap my wings a couple of times and get a few inches up in the air. Hopefully this Is all of it. Then I sneeze but it's not a regular sneeze, i sneeze fire, actual FIRE. At least my nose isn't burnt.

I look at the wolf who just sneezed fire. She looks astonished. "That ain't all of it, Wolfie," I scowl, batting her wings with a paw. My sharp claws scratch the things slightly. "For all I know you might just burn yourself alive if you're not careful."

Kumatora watched Venom leave. She turned her head to the wolf who just sneezed fire, and chuckled. She knew a rather younger wolf once who reacted in the same way when he accidentally coughed up some lava. She forced the humans to release him too. His timid personality made him an easy target for the other wolves. Kumatora flew back up to her branch, letting out a sigh of relief that they hadn't been paying attention to her. And the fact that none of them could read minds.
(Hmph, good thing the humans can't either. Those little buggers would probably give some wolf mind reading powers somehow, and make them read my mind. They wouldn't like what they would find, anyway...)
The wolf stretched her black dragon-like wings out, feeling a little more relaxed now. Still, she didn't like being called a robot from the wolf earlier. A new human recruit once mistook her for some dodgy animatronic. They learned that she was real the... hard way, I shall put it.

Kumatora took a glance at Venom, the luminous indigo and violet zebra-like stripes on her body quickly beginning to give her a headache. She sighed.
(Well, sure. I accept your apology, you little piece of crap.)
"S-sure, it's fine..." The wolf's voice was rather deep. Her oversized teeth made it seem like she was baring her fangs, but she didn't mean it. The tracking collar under her red bandana made yet another beep. Her blood red eyes, although not meaning it, stared deep into the other wolf's eyes.

Ok, I can breathe fire. This is weird. I go to the pond to grab a drink and a wolf comes out a flap. It's the same one who went in but she's now a luminous indigo and violet zebra-like stripes. Well, at least I'm not the only one with a crazy pelt.

I walked backwards into the shadows. I didn't quite feel like mentioning my experiences either. But, hey - I'd been here since I was 4, and I'd never remembered what happened before - not really, anyway. All I can picture is a foggy image of a blue footprint, all shiny, like it had been wrapped in cellophane.
A few seconds later, a hand clasped my body. Again, for another test. What now, huh?

Kumatora let out a low growl.
"This place? Utter crap. Simply put."
She leaped back down to the ground, growing bored of spending the day in a tree. Her robotic leg made a loud clank when she landed on the rather hard soil below the tree. She stood beside Venom, facing the others. She tucked her dragon-like wings in so they would appear smaller.

Kumatora turned her head to Firefly.
"Pfft, you're survive in here no doubt..." she snarled, with a sarcastic tone.
(Hmph, timid little idiot.)
She didn't feel like introducing herself, as she felt that the wolf would eventually find out somehow. Her tracking collar made yet another annoying bleep. What her red bandana covered was a very scratched at tracking collar. Some scratch marks were deeper than others, but all were failed attempts to get the "annoying bugger" off her neck. She stopped trying a few weeks after she had gotten it forced onto her, a few days after she joined. What forced them to put it on was an almost successful escape attempt.

(Phoenix)

After Phoenix was captured and experimented on by the human scientists, she was thrown roughly into a fairly large cage near a small cave made of rocks. She immediately tried to melt a hole in the cage, but to no avail. Phoenix swished her tail in frustration, and sparks drifted off onto the ground. There wasn't anywhere to go if even if she could escape, anyway. Her mother and father had died 3 years ago, and she had never been close to anyone in her pack. Phoenix growled in frustration and lay down inside the cave of rocks. She would wait. When dusk came, she would explore the cage and see if there was anyone else here.

Ok, one mean one nice. I shouldnt try too hard to become her friend. She'll only be more rude. "I could try and get your collar off, but I would need to use ice and then you could either slip it off or break it. It might not work though." I say to the angered wolf. It would be great to work on using my elements.

Kumatora tried to hide a rather small smile under a scowl.
"Um, sure..."
A wolf had never offered her to take the collar off before. Perhaps this was a wolf Kuma could get along with? She shook that thought away. Kumatora seemingly glared at Firefly, but was really trying to take a closer look. Those same eyes, that similar body shape, this wolf was giving Kuma dejavu. She looked a little similar to that wolf pup who coughed up lava, but obviously older. Of course, he isn't here anymore. She took a look at the others. They all had similarities to those few wolves Kuma communicated with. Was she seeing things? Maybe she missed them.
(Oh, stop thinking about them. You're obviously seeing things. This is unlike you, Kumatora...) she thought to herself. She turned her head back to Firefly.

Kumatora felt a sudden chill down her neck as the collar froze over. She started to claw at it again, and punching it with her paws. Her oversized claws made it seem easier than it actually was. It was a good thing none of the humans had spotted her... for now. Her bandana was almost soaking all over from melting chunks of ice. But finally being free of the collar made Kuma feel a little grateful inside.
(Finally free... thank you...)

Kumatora glared at Firefly with a scowl. She stayed silent, though. The wolf was unwilling to give away her identity to anyone anymore. She didn't feel like all these newcomer wolves were trustworthy enough. And the other wolves too. If any other wanted to share her name for her, then so be it. Kuma wasn't caring anymore.

I heard voices coming from around the corner. I went to investigate. There were some wolves sitting together and one swimming in the lake. I approached cautiously.
