Creature Suggestion - Zenix

This is the Zenix, which is once again deplorably uncolored, because I have no coloring utensils at my apartment. xP

They are meant to be dark blue in color with pink tails and legs and light blue feathers with glowing white tips. They hold a glowing white star in their paws.

Description: The feathers on these eggs glow more brightly, the closer the egg is to hatching. They are quite warm to the touch, but if the feathers are damaged, the egg will not hatch. They are quite rare, and were once protected by an ancient order of Arkians who were devoted to caring for these rare and precious eggs. In modern times, the order disappeared, and no trace of Zenix eggs could be found until the SAR scientists found an isolated clutch hidden high in the mountains.

Once thought to be a myth, Zenix are the creatures which, according to legend, are responsible for putting the stars in the sky above Ark. They each hatch with a single star clutched in their paws, and when they are old enough, they leap into the sky and leave their star as high as they can. The SAR scientists are working to discover their means of flight, as it defies current scientific understanding. What is known, however, is that they use the light from their feathers to confuse and blind nocturnal predators, particularly Terrons, who can often be seen trying to catch them. Once a Zenix has deposited its star, it is flightless and vulnerable until a new one grows back into place between their paws.

Zenix are very shy of other species, and are difficult to catch. It is a rare Arkian indeed who can befriend one, but no Zenix stays earthbound for long.
