Hello,

I have a suggestion. Like most here I really enjoy Egg Cave. I love collecting the different kinds of eggs and also enjoy interacting with other players.

When someone suddenly leaves or is banned, their creatures are left to die. Many of us try to keep them alive but we all know that they are basically doomed. It's a shame because so many of us would be glad to take them. Some of these creatures are rare and can not be obtained anymore.

Is there something that can be done about this? When you see that their creatures are dying, maybe you could put them in the Creature Auctions? All the proceeds from the auctions could go to the Science & Research Center.

I know that this would be something that I would be interested in. It would give many of us a chance to obtain creatures that we do not have and also keep quite a few creatures from dying.

I'm still kind of fuming over the fact that a name I've been stalking for months on an inactive account recently became immortal because people kept feeding it. I know it's kind of selfish, but I mean, creatures dying is kind of our versions of a name clearing here.

Anyway, I think it would probably be hard to do what a lot of other sites do as far as name and account clearings do since we are more of a collectible site and not so much a traditional game site like Neopets or Subeta. Here, people might leave once they have collected all the creatures they want and only check in from time to time. On sites like Neo and Subeta where there is a lot more to do than care for pets, clearings feel a little more "fair" for some reason. I guess it's because it's not just not all about creatures and also about games, avatars, etc.?

I guess what I'm trying to get at is that I would like it if we had account clearings here where an account that has not been logged into for say 18+ months is eligible to be deleted and its names available to active users. That said, I have always been against just letting active users name inactive users' creatures and items for some reason. It just seems...tacky to me. Names are one thing since they can only be used once and clearing them out gives some space. But just dumping creatures into the adoption center or whatever...I just can't get behind that. Sorry. It sometimes leaves a bad taste in my mouth that people are okay with that but not re-releases. It seems sort of backwards to me, but then again, I have so many mixed feelings about this topic.

I agree that there should be an easier way to prevent disappearing users' creatures from dying; however, the problem with your idea is that a user may come back and find their creature in someone else's cove and be unable to get it back. There are users that return and find some of their creatures alive, and this would make it highly unlikely that there'd be any left for them to return to. Additionally, how would the moderators determine where to set the boundaries?

Someone else suggested a Feed All button, and while that may cause additional issues depending on its regulations if it were to ever get implemented, here's how I believe it could help prevent creatures from dying along with regulations that I believe could prevent potential problems from arising:

If it were to be implemented, then it would probably have to only be used on other users' creatures since you can put your own in Tim's, and itd'd also probably have to cost since you wouldn't be putting the time into feeding. Also, there would have to be a limit to how often it could be used so other users wouldn't try to bribe others into continually using the button on their creatures.

Additional things that might make it more likely to happen would be if it only increases happiness and doesn't add to feed count, and if it allowed users to go and feed the creatures for later on.

I hope this doesn't sound rude, and I apologize if it did. ^^' Thank you though for bringing up this topic! Abandoned coves make me sad. ☚ī¸

Just an idea... I am tired of seeing eggs die.

If a person does not sign in for weeks upon weeks and then decides to come back, then they should not expect to find any of their creatures alive at all unless they are immortals. They know that if their mortal eggs are not fed what the consequences are.

If their creatures are near death and have been re-homed with someone else, then the person should be able to understand that if this had not happened, the creatures would be dead.

Maybe there should be a rule that each person must log in at least twice a month or they lose their account and eggs / creatures.

I don't know.... ugh!

Something to think about.. probably something that I should have not brought up.

thanks for your replies. 😊

i think unless someone states thet are going on hiatus and would we add to a feed list, the names and creatures should be auctioned off or put up for adoption by the admins.

on other sites we have had people pass and it was very sad to watch what was once life, die.....slowly.

there are no bad suggestions @birdboysplace

it is unfortunate that those who leave do realize they may return to tabula rasa.

cheers
