Hey! I have been noticing a LOT of awesome creature suggestions! ❤️ But, I have been realizing that very very very very very very very very few new creatures are made by users and not mods. I understand that the mods probably have a lot of good ideas, but so do us users! 😊 I hope to have more creature suggestions made in the future, because a lot of people are pouring their heart into their suggestions? Has anyone else been noticing this too?

I want to clear this up: I am not mad at the mods. I just hope they make more creature suggestions real.

Yes! I have noticed this! I have noticed some AMAZING suggestions but they aren't becoming noticed... ☹️

As I understand it, it has ended up this way because some user suggestions have been copies of already existing creatures - a.k.a. art theft.

So Egg Cave is being a lot more restrictive with user suggestions - which I find very understandable because it would be pretty time consuming if not impossible to make a full background check on every suggestion to make 100% sure it's not a copy of someone else's art.

It's a lot safer and easier to hire artist to do a proper and original job of creating creatures. 😊

That's so true. I'm seeing all these new creatures made by the mods and not by normal users. It might be just me but I feel that before (like back when I first played 4 years ago), it was much easier to have your idea become a reality. But now, not so much.

It's probably easier to have mods create the new eggs than to have a user create one because the mods have first hand contact with Ian, so they can change their ideas to his standards, but I don't know.

The mods shouldn't be blamed at least. They're probably just doing their jobs.
Blame the normal users that made this become a necessity for Egg Cave to stay out of legal troubles. :/

Yah, I have noticed a couple of creature suggestions that are quite similar to others creatures made. 😊 The frustrating thing is there are quite a few suggestions that aren't copies. ❤️ It is really hard to show emotion by typing, so if I seem mad at you or the mods I'm not! 😊 I hope I'm not putting out that impression.....

But I wasn't really blaming the mods, just saying it's probably easier to have them make suggestions than have normal users do the suggesting, that's all.

And I think it's sad we can't have user suggestions like we used to, but I've liked all the latest creatures a lot better than last year so I'm not really complaining about anything right now. 😃

Same. I didn't realize that some of the users would be... whats the word.... stupid? I didn't realize some of the users would be stupid enough to plagiarize. Stupid still doesn't seem right. Anyway, no, I am not mad at the mods.

And "stupid" is just the beginning of what I'd call them...

I caught an art thief once and she denied everything, mocked me and laughed at me in the forum and on DeviantArt before her art was taken down both from here and DA. "Her" creatures were exact copies of figurines made by a very famous DA artist so it wasn't even a subtle theft. It was beyond stupid. I was actually amazed by how stupid it was. o.O;

Oh, yes the shaaaaaaaame!

I felt ashamed myself just watching what she did next which was complaining on her wall about how evil and unfair Egg Cave is and how someone (me) was trash talking her and spreading evil rumours about her. THEN she sobbed about quitting until all her friends had pitied her.
I have no idea if she actually did quit, but I kind of hope she did. xD

^This is actually pretty much what also happened back in the days when the Baistay was completely new. It was pretty obvious that the "creator" had copied a digimon, but she denied it, cried and screamed and accused everyone else of bullying her until she quit about a week later. It seems to be a pattern with that kind of people. 😋

The fully evolved version is the most obvious one, of course.

I have no idea why it took so long for the Baistay to be redrawn and quite frankly I don't like the new version at all. I wish they could have done a better job with the artwork. 😋

Wow, yupp I definitely see it. If you just change the green to blue and take away the fine detail, the last stages look the same. That's just wrong ☹️.

And I agree, the Baistay could have been redraw a little better. It kind of reminds me of the CRW eggs from January 2011. Idk, maybe it's the texture of it, but it looks like it should be in that batch.

The mods have not been making all the new creature suggestions they are doing the descriptions as always.

ETA: Mods where not always noted as writing the descriptions. So it was a nice change to see happen.

Description written by: <insert user/mod name here> will usually be found on the archive entry, some exceptions, from what I've, being the Thief Shop and Asteroid creatures (there might be more that I just haven't seen o-o), and can actually be done by an eggcave user if they suggested that particular creature and wrote their own description. Unless there's Suggested by: <insert username> listed with the creature, it was an original creature drawn by a mod and no user suggested idea was used as a reference for the creature o3o Creatures that were suggested most always give credit to their original creator, both with a free creature and in the archive entry, so most of the creatures here lately haven't been a user suggestion. However, if a user feels that a creature is similar enough to one of their suggestions, they can send in a ticket to see if their idea was used, so it's possible that a user suggestion was used but whoever used it forgot to give credit 😋

I do agree with this, though ☹️ It's sad to see that one or two users kind of ruined it for the rest of us. From what I can tell, a lot of really good, really creative suggestions have been sitting gathering dust while they wait to be created, IF they are created.

I know right, my sister and I was rooting for flowangcats to come this month. Or in may. But the creatures were SO close to being like some. Considering FLOWERS.

It's not 100% accurate when people are stating that the mods are creating all the new creatures tho. Which is the main basis for this topic 😉 Egg cave has artists that draw and create creatures it's just not noted. Which I think it should be 😊 It is noted when Mods do make a suggestion such as the Corlinn for example 😊

There will always be similarities when it comes to art. When I suggested the Engel someone after I suggested an Angel type creature also suggested one. When it was made they made a topic noting the Halo and Wings. Well Angel's have that and I also had to point out the topic I made before theirs was created. The sites artist (s) drew it and made changes according to their preference as well.

Lets not forget about quite a few people every time new creatures would come out complaining about their suggestion not being made would say some pretty awful things. So for that reason alone it just have been done away with. It was just another unneeded headache.

Being a longtime player going on almost 5 years have seen a lot of changes.
