Graystar heaved himself out of his nest as Fawnnight left, he needed to speak to the Clan before he wasn't able to any longer.
The elderly leader shakily drew himself out of his den and sat at the edge of it, too weary to get up to the meeting place so instead he opted for this spot.
"Let all cats old enough to hunt gather here before the leader's den for a Clan meeting!" He rasped out, voice hoarse and cracking.

Eaglefate drew himself out of his nest and sat down next to Tallcavern and Silentfall as Graystar called a meeting. The warrior noticed the concerned look on the medicine cat's face as she came back from helping the patrol sent to fight the wolves.

Viperfang curled herself up inside her enclosure, pain ripping through her shoulder with each movement. She snarled in pain but lay down, the pain subsiding than how it was sitting and standing.

As soon as Dawnpaw asked, Graystar called a clan meeting. Her spine tingled with excitement. Maybe she's becoming a warrior. She bounded happily to where Graystar was there.
{Feathertail}
Feathertail, on the other hand, was feeling the same thing. Maybe he'll get an apprentice. He walked fast to the high rock.
{Mistystream}
Mistystream heard Graystar's call. "Graystar has called a clan meeting. We got to go.." She said to Echopaw. She ran fast to camp.

Duskshadow turned her head towards her leader before padding closer and sitting down near her fellow warriors. She wandered what they were called upon for. Noticing Dawnpaw bound happily towards the group of cats Duskshadow began wondering if we were holding the young apprentice's warrior ceremony.

Wolfstripe pricked his ears and bounded towards the clan rock, sitting next to Bearshade.
"What do you think is going to happen?" Bearshade enquired.
"I do not know, but this must be important." Wolfstripe replied briefly, curling his tail over his paws.

{Echopaw}
Echopaw skidded down the mountains and raced after Mistystream, following the young medicine cat's claw marks. Even though the snow fell heavily down on her, she's not willing to give up. On her way back to camp, she lost track of Mistystream's paw prints and forgotten her sense of direction. She was lost.
*I need to find shelter, or I'll freeze to death.*
She paced forward until she could smell a familiar scent not far from where she was. Without hesitation, she followed the scent and it lead her towards a small alcove, the scent of fox lingering around in the air, though all of it was stale.
"Hello?"

Viperfang looked up at the sound of a voice in front of her small hole. "What?" She called back, recognizing the voice of Echopaw.
"What are you doing so far from the camp in such a snowfall?" The silver she-cat asked, pulling herself up and heading to the entrance, stumbling multiple times due to pain in her shoulder. But nevertheless she stood to the side to allow the apprentice inside.

"If you haven't already known, I'm not long for this plane of existence for much longer." Graystar rasped out. "I unfortunately cannot keep up with all the patrols, and ceremonies needed that come with the role of leader, and as such I fear I must retire.
"I'm not sure how many others before me have done this, but I'm old and my memory is going I fear I will soon not remember what cats are warriors or not. So I am stepping down from my leaderly position, renouncing the name of Graystar, taking my former name of Graypelt and ask for my deputy to become Leader in my place."

I came as fast as I could hear that Graystar was retiring. Wolfstripe is becoming leader. Maybe I should accompany him, I'm young after all, and never accompanied a leader. I gasped. Another visit to the Mooncavern!

Duskshadow's eyes widened. This news was the last thing she expected to. She looked down to the ground with great sadness and silently listened to a few shocked mutterings near her. 'I can't believe it,' she thought.

Tallcavern stood from her spot in the rear of the gathering of cats. "I'm here," she said pushing her way to the front. "I'll escort you if you wish Wolfstripe. Although I say we wait out this horrendous storm before we do anything truthfully."

Wolfstripe dipped his head towards Tallcavern and leaped onto the Highrock, looking down at the cats before him.
"We understand this is a hard decision, Graystar. You have served your clan well and your hardship will never be forgotten." Wolfstripe spoke as all eyes were fixed on him.
"I will make my journey to the Mooncavern tonight and I would choose my deputy before moonrise."

{Fawnnight}
Fawnnight sat next to Duskshadow, looking up at the new leader of SnowClan.
"Graystar has lead the clan long and well. Why would he retire in such short notice?" She wondered out loud, curling her tail over her paws.

{Echopaw}
"I lost all sense of direction. I thought it would be better to take shelter somewhere and wait until the storm dies down rather than getting lost and freezing to death." Echopaw explained to Viperfang, entering the den. As she entered, she could feel a soft scuffling under her paws.
*Mice!* she thought, sniffing the air. She followed the scent and, to her excitement, she saw a small family of mice huddled together on the corner of the den. Almost instantly, she lowered into a hunter's crouch and leaping swiftly on the prey, padding back towards Viperfang with three mice dangling from her jaws. One was a nice plump male mice, and the other two are females, a little smaller than the male, but also very plump.
"Would you like to share with me? I can't finish this alone."

{Bearshade}
"Dawnpaw, do you want to go hunting with me after this? I need to show you something." He asked his apprentice.

Duskshadow looked at Fawnnight upon hearing her speak, shock and sadness still lacing her eyes from the events that had just passed, "Yeah, I know what you mean." she heaved out a sigh, "I wasn't expecting this at all." she turned her gaze to the ground once more. She inhaled a deep breath and looked up again, trying to summon up a happier mood.

"Do you think Wolfstripe would be a great leader?" She question Duskshadow, worry reflected in her eyes.
"Graystar was a great leader to us, but every cat must retire someday. I understand it was hard to step down from leadership."

{Wolfstripe}
Wolfstripe raised his head to make another announcement.
"I have another announcement to make." He called, ears pricked.
"The twoleg camp cats have spoken of the bear that lurked around the camp of the twolegs. To ensure the safety of the elders, queens and kits, we must make extra patrols to border the twoleg camp border. If a patrol find anything suspicious, report it to me immediately. We cannot risk to lose warriors during these hard times, so we will not fight the beast."

Bearshade lead his apprentice up the slopes of the mountain and over the twoleg camp, where SnowClan borders are. He took her past the frozen stream and up onto a ledge where they could see everything.
"There was another clan here, though their nothing like us. They don't call themselves clanmates, though they live together like clans do." Bearshade explained, settling down on the bed of snow.
"They might not be a real clan, but they have the powers of our warrior ancestors in their paws."
As he looked down, he pointed his claw toward a pack of white spotted fur. They were different to normal cats, their dagger-like claws sharp enough to tear the pelts off of a cat and muscular bodies that are strong and powerful.
"I have been so fascinated with this clan and I have been keeping the secret of this clan my whole life. I was afraid our clan would attack these legendary cats, so I never told anyone. I trust you would enjoy the beauty of this clan like I do."

"Blood was shed during the times of our ancestors, but these Snow leopards are far away from the Lions, Tigers or Jaguars. They live peacefully here. When I was an apprentice, my mentor showed me this place. He mentored me along side of a snow leopard from there, and I have learnt many things from them. If you are willing, would you like to learn from one of these cats?" Bearshade asked, purring in delight.

"Don't worry, they won't." He assured his apprentice as he leaped down from the ledge. It was a matter of minutes before he reappeared with a male snow leopard and a young female snow leopard trailing behind him.
"This is Dawnpaw, my apprentice." He introduced, flicking his tail towards Dawnpaw. The male snow leopard dipped his head.
"Hello there, young warrior. I am River, and this is my apprentice Mallow. I heard you were a clever little cat, aren't you? Bearshade has mentioned you many times before."
Mallow, the female leopard, drew closer and gave Dawnpaw a sniff.
"I can't wait to train with you." Mallow smiled.

"Yeah, me too! I never seen snow leopards before! You and your mentor will teach me so much!" Dawnpaw smiled happily. "So, you've meet Bearshade? Oh, maybe I'll tell you more about myself when we start training!"

Feathertail padded up to Questionheart, overhearing the call to Eternalpaw. "Hi Questionheart, I know you've been a friend of Wolfstripe. Maybe he'll announce you as the new deptuty, who knows? But stay here." "Okay, I will. Maybe I will become deptuty, I would love to organize patrols, maybe I'll get to be a leader someday." Questionheart said happily.

Braveheart poked her head out of the Warriors den. The sandy brown tabby slid out of the den and to the fresh kill pile. Her stomach growled as she smelled the scent of a vole. Grabbing the small and delicate vole in her jaws, she carried it over to a tree where the shade would cool her down. Braveheart wolfed down the vole and licked her lips. She neatly wrapped her long tail over her paws and gazed around camp. Her ear twitched as she heard cats sharing tongues.

Tallcavern nodded at Wolfstripe. "We can leave whenever you are ready." She said nodding, but she turned her gaze to Graystar-Graypelt now-she corrected as the cat turned and headed into the abandoned Elders den to prepare himself a nest.

Silentfall watched as Graypelt went into the Elder's den and the young warrior followed their former leader inside. "Graypelt, do you want me to get you anything to help get a nest? Or something to make this place feel more welcome?"

Wolfstripe entered the his new den, moss clasped in his jaws. The leader's den looked much larger in size, and Wolfstripe felt strange moving in into the den, yearning for the company of the other warriors. He laid the moss on the corner of the den, then padded back outside, moonlight shimmering down onto the Highrock. He leaped onto it and called out to the clan.
"Let all cats old enough to hunt gather before the Highrock for a clan meeting." He meowed unsteadily.

Cats started gathering around him and he curled his tail over his paws.
"I have made my decision. I call upon StarClan to approve my choice. Questionheart will be the next deputy." He raised his head towards the sky.
"I will go to the moonstone tonight, and claim my leader name."

Wolfstripe jumped down from the Highrock and padded to Tallcavern.
"We should go tonight, before the storm gets worse."

{Bearshade}
"Let's get training shall we?" Bearshade smiled at Dawnpaw, blinking. River nodded, then flashed down the ledge. Mallow dashed after him, though River was too fast for Mallow's tiny paws. Bearshade trailed behind the two leopards with Dawnpaw.
"It's a great opportunity to learn from these Snow leopards. They know some hunting techniques, so that'll be great help. We can teach them as well as learn from them. They might be good at hunting, but they don't do much travelling. They'll teach us how to hunt and we'll show them the best places to hunt."

Braveheart watched as Wolfstripe climbed on to Highrock and announced there was a clan meeting. She padded over, curious of what it must be about. But then she remembered, Wolfstripe had to choose a deputy. The she-cat took a seat next to an apprentice and curiously listened. Questionheart was the deputy. Braveheart chanted his name like the other cats in the crowd. After the meeting, she decided to go hunt.

Questionheart dipped his head happily and trotted over to Feathertail and Eternalpaw. "You're right. He'd choose me." He said. "Told ya." Said Feathertail, and Eternalpaw said, "Congrats!" And Questionheart bounded to Wolfstripe. "I am proud to be your deputy. I'll set up the patrols when you leave."

Braveheart padded out of camp and she continued to pad until she reached a small clearing. Her ears twitched and her green eyes scanned the forest. The she-cat tasted the air and she caught a distant scent of a rabbit. Whipping her head around, she looked around her. She spotted a small grayish white rabbit munching on a few seeds. Braveheart made sure the wind was blowing towards her so her prey would not catch her scent. Dropping to a hunter's crouch, she slowly edged forward. That was when she heard a snap under her.
'Oh for Starclan's sake,' she thought as she noticed a twig under her.
The rabbit started to bound away but Braveheart would not give up. She sprinted after the rabbit in great bursts of speed. Finally when she was close enough, she leaped and tumbled over, she sank her claws into the rabbit. Satisfied with her catch, she breathed heavily. Braveheart decided to bury the rabbit under a tree so she could find some more prey.

Duskshadow went to the Warriors Den to rest after her wounds. After all if she was needed she could be woken up, but for now she needed to rest her tired limbs.

"I think it is safe to make our way to the Moonstone." Wolfstripe told the medicine cat, pointing towards the entrance of camp.

{Bearshade}
River beckoned the clan cats towards a tree, then smiled.
"This is the squirrel hollow. This is where the fattest and most juiciest squirrels are found. They might be harmless prey, but they are quick. Remember, not all battles are won." He meowed.
He crouched down, and in a swift swipe, batted a small brown squirrel into the clearing. It tried to run back into the tree, but River dashed after it and placed a paw on it's tail.
*I haven't seen a cat done that!* Bearshade thought.
"Come, I'll teach you all."

{Stormpaw}
Stormpaw sat by the river, eyes gleaming in the dark. He knew somebody is watching him, but he took no notice of his surroundings. The pebble stones felt cold under his feet, signalling the start of leafbare. As he dipped his paw in the water, a small fish leaped onto his paws, wriggling helplessly as he picked it up with his jaws.
*For the fresh-kill pile. The clan needs all the prey we could get.*

Tallcavern nodded before heading out. She turned and waited for Wolfstripe, shaking the snow off of her fur as it fell.

Graystar shook his head before sitting down inside the den. "I'll be fine. Being alone is nice. But thank you."
