Cool idea?

I think it would be cool to be able to breed creatures. You can buy a breeding license for 100 CC, so you can breed your creature with someone else's as long as they have bought a breeding license as well. I think the breeding license should cost CC, because if you were able to breed rare creatures for free, they wouldn't really be rare anymore, and that would take the fun out of the game. For example, Bob bought a breeding license, and decided to breed his male Baistay with Bill's female Baistay. 10-20 days later - a Baistay egg is given to both or one of the users. Breeding is probably more useful for retired creatures though.

The cost for a breeding license can be higher or the egg incubation time can be longer if the site doesn't want to make breeding too easy. I know there is a lot of talk about how breeding might make it too easy to obtain rare creatures.

I don't think it should be 100 CC because nobody probally has that CC. And you should have a restriction for breeding rares depending on the rare index... I guess there should be a license but a fee for breeding... Rares about 30,000 EC and others

@fiamma

I believe breeding was suggested a whiiiiile ago and staff said it wouldn't be implemented.
So I highly doubt that has changed, thus it most likely won't happen.

I believe it would be a bad implementation cuz will change the rarity of some creatures, and may decrease the prices too.

@shelby

The suggestion is made pretty frequently, actually.

@despair

I'm sure it is, but I don't know if the staff has said anything in any of those, so I was referencing the one I remember where I believe Ian said himself it wouldn't be implemented.
I don't know if the topic is still out there or not though.

Probably never going to happen. Way too many creatures and it would ruin the economy. Honestly the site doesn't need breeding either.

I noticed it was suggested a lot - I just thought if it was more difficult to breed, it would be a little less hated. You're probably right though. ☚ī¸

@fiamma Eggcave is more about stock market maneuvering than an adoption site hehe ...

@fiamma

I know a lot of people probably like the idea of breeding, but I personally think EggCave is perfectly fine without it. Like @veritaspunk said, the game is about taking opportunities and trading to get what you truly want. Breeding would, honestly, probably lead to less fairness in trading than it does now with super rares- users owning these creatures would be able to get more and rip off others with their 'spares' as the only place to get one.

I really can't see this being implemented, I'm afraid. It's been suggested and shot down too many times, no matter how many barriers or conditions are put into place to make it more fair or harder to breed certain creatures.

@funyarinpa I don't know the technical aspect of this, but I was thinking once a year or once a designated time frame like a week or so a sort of "springs eternal portal" "morphing station" of sorts could be available where you could "trade in" creatures for a "POSSIBILITY" to get another desired creature, other stipulations could be added ... but this way the person in theory is "switching out" a creature to have an opportunity at getting another more desired creature... but this would be risk/reward ...

@veritaspunk

Eh, it could work. The only problem is that it would be quite unfair for older users (That's a first XD) this time around. What is Person A, a new player, put a honk in and Person B put a garo in? It's kind of like egg trading in Pokemon, you don't know what it isn't until it arrives and by the time you know it's too late. I also doubt many users would be willing to put rare creatures in there without a return that is at least equal to what they put in.

Perhaps, building on that, if over the week more and more creatures were put in by players to build a total point count (adding the rarity number of each creature put in) then at the end of the week the return equals the number of points they put in? I have been thinking of some system like this for a while.

I don't know if people would accept it as a new feature instead of breeding, but it would definitely be interesting to see what people get at the end.

@Fiamma

How bout this? Breeding costs 100,000EC, or 50,000CC. Creatures can be only be breeded if they are in their final stage,and they an only be breeded with thei own species. And there should be a breeding season(Ex:Spring) Creatures should only be able to breed once a breeding season, so people can't go crazy.

@Queens @Fiamma

Fiamma --

As much as I would absolutely love create breeding, the admins have noted [as @Shelby said] that this feature wouldn't be implemented.

There would be such an uproar anyway that I'm pretty sure that the admins are honestly afraid of even trying. xD

Queens --

50000 CC = $450 USD.

Do you really want to pay that much for a jumble of pixels? Noooo. 😋

1-2k CC / 10mil - 20mil EC would probably be a fairer price for breeding...if it was put to motion.

Eggcave isn't a breeding site; it's a collectable site. There are many breeding sites out there that are set up for that. Egg Cave is not.
