Ok, so I don't know if ya'll can do anything about this or if it's just me but I've been getting a page for a few days now saying some stuff like:
Error 524
A timeout occurred
Host Error
Not word for word and there was more but that's basically what it said >.>

@immortalraven
Yeah same.
I've just been assuming it's a known issue since it happens a lot...

I believe everyone is having this problem from what I've seen on blog and such. Sometimes refreshing works sometimes it doesn't until like 3o minutes go by

@immortalraven @shelby @ashlinnhi

Hello:

This error occurs when Egg Cave's web server temporarily goes offline but our edge servers still have a cached copy of the page available to you to serve despite the site not being online.

Obviously, the goal is to have Egg Cave's web server up 100% of the time but at the moment we are subject to hardware failures just like any other web site. This additional layer was installed a couple of weeks ago to keep Egg Cave more accessible when Egg Cave's web server goes temporarily offline, whether its for a number of seconds or a couple of minutes.

I will make an official comment about the future of Egg Cave here: over the last several months, especially around event times, we know that Egg Cave has had laggy resolution times and that it's not uncommon for the site to go offline intermittently. This is unacceptable service for our loyal players.

As we have talked extensively with our datacenter technicians and have optimized our application code, we've been completely baffled by the web server troubles that Egg Cave has had and haven't been able to find a long-term fix. These are growing pains.

At this very moment, I am investigating what it means to move Egg Cave to a redundant cloud infrastructure that would begin to eliminate laggy resolution times.

Thanks!
