A Newly Improved Shoutbox

Hey,

Sorry if this was already suggested! I believe having an actual shout box would be cool. A box or a chat box located at the bottom right hand corner of the website. Something we'd be able to minimize, enlarge, etc. I think it'll be better for users to quick reply and to easily chit chat about anything.

I believe some rules should apply! Such as:
No role-play
No advertising (trading)
No spamming
Etc

I won't have a say so on the rules, but those are just thoughts. I think this'll be a great addition!

I love this idea! It'd be a great way to make new friends and socialize with everyone on Eggcave. The option to minimize and enlarge would be very handy as well. So I support this idea!

I think this is a good idea 😊 (Even though I don't use the Shoutbox XD) So it will sort of be like a live chat where it constantly updates?

I think that's cool!
On a site I sometimes frequent, the shoutbox is there for people to have a nice chat, and people that spam or ask for money are banned for a set period of time by moderators that frequent the shoutbox.
I think there could also be shoutbox moderators as well, that are in charge of only the shoutbox, so that our mods don't have to be in charge of that and everything else.

Thank you! That sounds like it'll be useful, or maybe we could just have a button we can click in order to flag people when they have broken a rule so that their response can be reviewed.

I believe that they had that too, so if the moderator was busy, they could come back and see what got flagged and see if it was a good reason for a warning/ban.
But I think there should also be a confirm box, just in case you click it on accident. And also people that wrongfully do it (on purpose, due to a feud or whatever is going on between the person) can be given a warning or suspension from the shoutbox.

I like your moderation idea. 😊 I think moderators already get assigned to perform specific duties at specific times, so that shouldn't really be an issue. Better safe than sorry lool.

This would be ok, as long as I could hide it. Sometimes my connection is shibby, and even when it's not, I try to minimize the impact of any given website on my computer and internet connection as much as I can. The constant updating that such a feature would demand concerns me. I wouldn't mind having this feature, I just want the option to not have it displayed on every page if it's accepted.
