I guess this goes here instead of in the RP section.

As many of you know, I am a writer, and I got curious about something. Do you have a personal playlist that you listen to when you are writing? Or do you listen to a certain genre of music when writing certain scenes?

Let's post the music we listen to when we write, and maybe get some good ideas for new music to try!

Weight of the World - Evanescence
It Ends Tonight - All-American Rejects
Travelin' Soldier - Dixie Chicks

@scorch_cloud222

I thought of doing that, but I decided to do playlists for different characters. I'll look through the songs I use and try to fill this out though. 😊

@scorch_cloud222 It depends on what I'm writing but typically it's a mix of The Script, Train, Modest Mouse, MCR, Green Day and the sound tracks for Homestuck.
The Script and Train for moments I was something sad or heartfelt. Modest Mouse for stuff in between. MCR and Green Day for high edged scenes and Homestuck soundtracks for other stuff.

I normally listen to rock music, rap, or metal. Especially Eminem (Beautiful Pain, Stronger Than I Was, 25 to Life-for slow/sad parts), Metallica (Am I Evil, Enter Sandman-for action packed areas), Linkin Park for random moments, and Daughtry radio on Pandora when I myself am upset and therefore my story turns dark/deep.

music with lyrics distracts me from writing sometimes, so I listen to a LOT of classical/piano music and what I usually end up doing is looking up "happy piano playlist" or "sad piano playlist" and clicking on those three hour playlists on youtube
one of my favorite piano pieces is Gymnopédie 1, and I also really love Clair de Lune but I don't know hwere you'd want to categorize those. they're kinda sad

I listen to Japanese songs that I don't know the lyrics to, so it's not auto-translating in my head. It usually has a very fast tempo, I like it when drawing too.

Look up Kenshi Yonezu's Melancholy Kitchen as an example- its not the mainstream Jpop really... 😋

I mainly listen to instrumental music while I am writing sad or upbeat normally though it never has a moment to be calm and breaks my brain before I can finish the story.
