Mintsplash followed the river up to the source. She started to hear the thundering of the waterfall. She slipped through the curtain of water and sat patiently by the Moonfall pool.

"Hello, Mintsplash." Feathernose dipped his head in greeting, stepping aside to let Icepaw pass. "This is my apprentice, Icepaw."

"Greetings Feathernose. Hello, Icepaw," Mintsplash meowed her eyes warm as she gazed at Icepaw. Mintsplash had wondered when she would get her own apprentice, but she knew StarClan would make sure she would find just the right kit. The light that filtered through the water lit the Moonfall pool making it look like it had caught the stars.

Icepaw greeted Mintsplash trying to contain her excitement. "A-are we going to meet Starclan? I've only heard the messages that Feathernose gets."

Mintsplash smiled at this cat's enthusiasm. "Yes we'll share tongues with StarClan. If they have anything urgent to say they'll tell us after we drink from the Moonfall pool."

Icepaw glanced the Moonfall, the water reflecting of her eyes. "Is it in the cavern behind there?" She pointed to the waterfall, "Starclan chooses the most beautiful places to communicate with us."

"Yes, it is," Mintsplash meowed. She leapt through the curtain of water. "Come through," She called through the water. A small pool of water was being fed by the waterfall and she settled next to it.

Mintsplash nodded to Feathernose. She leaned over and lapped up some of the water. It felt like drinking starlight. She settled down and closed her eyes and waited for visions.

The moment Mintsplash drank some of the water, Icepaw immediately did the same. She was very curious to see what Starclan would say. Who wouldn't? Or maybe, just maybe, they didn't want to see her? Icepaw felt anxious and curious at the same time, and that wasn't a good mixture.

Mintsplash opened her eyes. Well, not her real eyes her dream eyes. Starry mist swirled around and she saw long dead leaders, warriors, elders, apprentices, medicine cats and even a few kits. "Welcome Mintsplash," said her dead mentor Sorrelwing.

Feathernose started lappjng up the water soon after Icepaw, and within moments, he opened his eyes to see the familiar starry pelts of StarClan.

Three stepped forward, a tom and a she-cat, a kit by their paws.

Feathernose smiled at Graytail, Roseclaw, and Thistlekit, his littermates.

Mintsplash purred. "Hello Sorrelwing. I imagine that there's no prophecies for you to tell me now?" "Yes there are no prophecies right now," Sorrelwing meowed,"But I think there's someone you'll want to see..." He stepped aside and a beautiful tabby who resembled her padded up. "Dawnfeather! I-I'm sorry I couldn't save you..." Mintsplash meowed to her mother who had passed away a few moons ago due to green cough.

Roseclaw shook her head. "Not now. But I'm afraid that there will be soon."

Icepaw opened her eyes in her dream. She saw many cats, young and old, but didn't know any of them.

Is this Starclan? she wondered, looking around.

A cat came up to her, "Hello there little one."
Icepaw looked up at the starry cat, "Am i in Starclan?"

The cat purred, amused, "That is correct, Icepaw. Do you know who I am?"

Icepaw cocked her head, then gave a tiny squeak, "Oh! Cloudpetal, mother!"

The cat gave a sad smile, "I dead giving birth to you. Do you remember your sister?"

Icepaw nodded, "Yes, mother, isn't she Frostkit?" she frowned, "Wait, wasn't I the only survivor?"

"Yes. Come see her. Frostkit?" Her mother called.

A white kit with dark blue eyes slinked in front of Cloudpetal, Frostkit. "H-hi sis. You always wanted to be Medicine Cat, and now you're an apprentice of one. You can visit us, now, right?"

Cloudpetal smiled, "Yes Frostkit, she can visit. But only every half-moon."

"But that's so long!" Frostkit whined.

"That's why you need to make the most of it, right?"

Frostkit didn't answer. Icepaw padded up to her sister. "I'm so glad to see you, I only have a faded memories of you."

Feathernose opened his mouth to speak, but was interrupted by Thistlekit bounding up. The one who had inspired him to become a medicine cat.

"I miss you, Feathernose!" Thistlekit said, his tail flicking back and forth.

Feathernose leaned down. "I miss you too. I miss all of you." Looking up, he gave his brothers and sister one final look as they faded away into the stars.

Slowly making up, Feathernose stood, seeing the other cats still asleep.

"It was my time young'n. Even with all the herbs in the world you wouldn't have been able to save me," Dawnfeather meowed. Mintsplash teared up slightly,"But still... D-do you have any messages?" "No, I just wanted to see you. Good bye, I'll see you next half moon," Dawnfeather meowed. "Bye mother...," Mintsplash murmured as she awoke. She saw that Feathernose was awake. Mintsplash stretched.
