(This now takes place in the Millenium Universe, if you're okay with it, @nightmaremoon12 ^^")

In a legend, there was an evil entity, Majin, that appeared from the west of the continent, it took over the continent and darkness filled it. Then, the Saint of Light appeared and defeated the Majin, she drove it back to the west, but she claimed that the Majin isn't dead yet, and will never be. When it awakens again, six will come together and drive it back again.

The Legend
Every 300 years, the six chosen ones will come together at the entrance of the Majin's territory. A mark of a star will appear on their bodies and it will always be during the night. Once they are chosen they will become a Saint or Sage and have a power, usually elemental abilities.

(It is the night, specifically 10:00 PM, just before the day that the six will be chosen again.)

Flamie waved as the blacksmith climbed up the stairs to go to sleep for the night. He didn't know if he knew that tomorrow was the day that the six would be chosen. He locked the doors and climbed up the stairs himself.
He got into bed, noticing the blacksmith sleeping like a log. He spent some time thinking about who'd be chosen, before he dozed off.

Cynthia sat there reading a book, she began to fall sleepy. Although she was she kept reading. She pondered how the chosen would fight the Majin. It was hard maybe or is it easy? If they come back every 300 years, that meant it was difficult to do so. Cynthia soon became too tired and in midway of reading the book she fell asleep.

Alex stood outside the back door of her house. Gripping the door frame with her left hand until her knuckles were white. She'd need to get some sleep soon, it would do her no good to stay awake this late.

She entered the house after a long moment of staring into the fields and latched the door as quietly as she could. Hoping her family, or rather her parents, didn't hear her she crept to the main room and pulled a book off their shelf.

She enjoyed reading the lore of the land, and her favorite was the piece about the sages and saints. She knew soon would be the day more were chosen, and her excitement threatened to bubble over.

She nestled herself into her family's squishyist chair and opened the book, set on learning as much about the sages and saints, and how they were chosen as she could.

Erebus breathed in the chilly night air with ease. It stung slightly when the wind hit his lungs, but it was a sensation that he thoroughly enjoyed. The people of the city had all gone home for the day, and he watched silently as several stragglers entered their homes.

He had always enjoyed the cool feel of dusk. For the longest time, Erebus had favored the darkness over any and all else. It was not only something that made him feel comfortable, it made him feel... alive. The young man wasn't tired in the least.

The noisy chirping of a bird pulled him out of his evening musings, and the young man turned towards the noise. A deep blue bird tweeted loudly towards him, and Erebus narrowed his eyes in concentration.

He lifted up his arm slightly, and the shadows behind the bird uncurled lazily from the tree. Erebus closed his fist suddenly, and the night pounced on the animal, clenching tightly around it's struggling body. The dark wisps of smoke trailed towards Erebus, and he chuckled lightly as the black air placed the tiny creature into his hands.

The chubby animal sat in his open palm, and the man brought his other hand over it, stroking it's soft feathers slowly. It chirped, and he shushed it lightly.

"Be quiet my darling. It's dark here, and it's my time now."

@ushafuse I'm okay with it! Also, can I change my character's name? Lorem is an uncreative name and an ironic name, ^^

Nokomi dozed off in her bed, trying to stay awake. She couldn't wait at all. Oh well. Her bed was comfy, so she should better make the most out of it.

Will galloped the mare he was riding back into the stable. His new job at this ranch was excellent. He got to spend all day with the horses. He dismounted and removed the tack from the horse he'd been riding, a russet colored mare named Sunset. "That's a good girl," he whipsered in her ear, trying to calm her so that he could brush her down.
After grooming Sunset, he slipped into the loft where he and the other hired hands slept. Even when you were in good condition, riding is tiring. Will dropped into his bed, not even bothering to undress, and fell asleep instantly.

@niale @thebrokenvibe @bunnyshadow @livgg @nightmaremoon12 I'll fast forward to middle of the night.

Flamie woke up with a red light shining through the windows. He looked out and saw the sky, it was crimson in colour. He'd heard that when it was time the saints and sages were chosen, the sky would go all red. Was it time? He wished good luck to whoever was chosen and tried to go back to sleep, but excitement kept him awake.

Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain on his chest. Red light was shining in the pattern of the mark the sixes always had; soon it stopped. He looked at his chest, he could see very clearly, the mark of the chosen six. He let out a yelp, waking the blacksmith up, he was chosen. He touched the mark on his chest and felt the edges of the mark. He had not been so delighted in ages, he got out of bed and went to the toilet, letting out sounds of happiness.

Everyone in the loft jolted awake as the sky flared red. The six would be chosen tonight. Will wished it wasn't so bright. He needed his sleep. He hoped that whoever became one of the six had fun with it, but it wouldn't be him, and even with the choosing, they would still expected to be up at seven to start working the horses. He turned to head back to his bunk, when his neck began to burn. He turned back toward the light, but the burning didn't stop. And then it stopped. The pillar of light vanished, and so did the burning pain in his neck.
He headed back to bed when one of the other boys called, "Will, look at your neck."
Will was tired, and didn't feel like dealing with this. "Desmond, it is late, and you aren't funny. Besides, how the heck am I supposed to see the back of my neck?"
"I'm serious, Will. I think you got the mark."
Will immediately rushed into the bathroom and checked. Sure enough, there was a six pointed star, shining crimson in the night.

@ushafuse @livgg I love your choices on where you guys placed your character's mark. I think I'll go for a more unique area. x) Do the marks fade during the day and appear during the night or what?

Erebus stared intently at the sky as it faded from black and blue to red and orange. It stung his eyes for him to continue his gaze at the bloody air, but he continued his vacant stare. He was prepared to be chosen. It was inevitable that he was picked, the young man had been preparing himself his entire life. Even considering Erebus's indifference to pain, he honestly couldn't deny feeling the blazing sensation over his face.

The bird squawked, having been roughly squeezed in Erebus's hands. It fluttered angrily, before flapping away. He pulled his hand up to his face, holding it over his left eye-over the same spot his scar had taken.

"Over my eyes, huh?" He muttered in glee. "I suppose it's only right that the entire world knows what I am on sight." The man took in a slight breath as the burning faded away. His next words shook, but he forced them out easily.

"I'm ready for you, Majin." The glow from his mark echoed off the dark leaves, leaving a bloody hue against the grassy floor. "I'm ready to fight you..." He trailed off, smirking lightly as he lifted a hand up to signal the bird to return.

"Again."

Nokomi felt a jolt of pain as she slept. Waking up from her sleep, she noticed that the sky is red. Trying to find the sharp jolt of pain, she noticed it was on the palm of her right hand. She had the mark.
"Is it already time...?" She sighed, looking at the sky. She needed some sleep, but she'll manage.

Cynthia woke up with a searing pain on her shoulder. She hugged it tight until the pain stopped. Cynthia ran to the bathroom and checked what has happened to her shoulder to see a star on the shoulder. She didn't want to be chosen, it felt like too much pressure all over again. Panicking all around in her room not knowing what to do.

Wondering what shall happen, she'll keep this a secret for now.
"What am I going to do?!" Cynthia stressed out. "I'm nowhere near cut out for this stuff!" She rubbed her head and messed up her hair more. She had to find out what to do.

Alex, concentrated fully on her book didn't realize when they sky turned red. She didn't know that the six were being chosen right now. Well she didn't realize they were.

It wasn't until a burning pain ripped across her left kneecap that she looked down and saw the glow mark of the six. "Oh." Was all she could say as she closed her book.

Yanking up her pant leg so she could view it better she saw the mark and gently rubbed a thumb across it. If her parents found out though she wouldn't be allowed to help.

Biting her tongue she wrapped her knee in some extra bandages to cut the glow as she fixed her pant leg. She curled up in her chair again. Watching the sky with renewed awe.

@niale @thebrokenvibe @bunnyshadow @livgg @nightmaremoon12 The mark is there all the time.

Flamie went back to bed, and glanced at the sky. The other 5 had been chosen too. Definitely stronger than me, all of them he thought. He started to wonder what sage he was, but slept almost immediately.

Will looked out at the sky. Somewhere out there, maybe even in this town, were five other kids with star-shaped marks. Five other kids who would be his allies in the fight against Majin. He wondered what they were like, what their powers were. What were his, for that matter? What was he sage or saint of? He knew he wouldn't be able to sleep that night, so he headed down to the stables and began to groom Midnight, one of his favorite stallions. He had only been brushing for a few seconds when he heard a voice.
"Ahh. That feels good." The voice was quiet, but seemed to be right next to him.
Will dropped the brush. He moved to the gate and glanced around the stable to see who had spoken, but there was no one in sight. "Who's there?"
No one answered, but Will knew he had heard someone. Why would they have spoken if they didn't want him to know they were here?
"What are you doing?" said the voice, this time behind him.
Will spun around. There was no one there but Midnight.
"There's no one there, and even if there was you wouldn't be in trouble."
"You spoke." Will couldn't believe it. He thought he must be dreaming. That's it. This all was a dream. He'd never gotten marked, and he was still asleep in his bed.
"Yes I spoke," said Midnight indignantly. "All animals do. Most humans just don't hear." He looked at me strangely. I still swear that horses have more facial expressions than humans. "So why can you?"
I didn't know what to say to that, but then my mark twinged. Wait.
"I got a mark that is supposed to give me special powers, but I have no Idea what they are could that be it?"
Midnight gave a shrug. "It could be. There are stories about a girl, centuries ago, who could talk to animals. maybe you have the same gift."
"Maybe." Will couldn't believe it. His brain was spinning from what had just happened. He ran out of the stables and back into the loft, and fell into bed. If you sleep in a dream, you wake up, right? He pulled the covers up and tried to fall asleep.

"I love it!" Erebus exclaimed. Never before had he ever felt this rejuvenated by the night air. He lifted up his palm slowly, watching as trails of darkness followed suit. The young man clenched his fist, and the blackness reared up before falling back once again. His heart pounded in his chest. "Absolutely wonderful..." He trailed off as he ventured towards the city. The mark's glow dulled as he moved closer towards civilization.

Erebus sighed contently as he walked, wondering fleetingly when the other 5 of the marked would wake.
