[UPDATED] List of Quality of Life Improvements (With pictures!)

Here are a few things that I feel would make nice additions to the site along with a little bit of a visual representation.
If you have anything you'd like to suggest and for me to add with a little picture like the ones below, let me know and I'll see what I can do. 😊

Also, if there could be a (1) in the browser tab when there's something new on the livepulse that when you haven't switched over to the tab and seen it yet. I think that'd be pretty cool! You know, kinda the way facebook does unread notifications.

Light creature profiles

This one may need a bit of explaining. I don't know if anyone else experiences the same thing, but if I open a bunch of creature links to do some mass feeding, they start loading very slowly making it take forever to do feeding.
By default, creature profiles would look identical other than the new "Enable Light Mode" button. When you press that button, it makes it look like the 2nd picture. A much lighter, and hopefully, faster loading page. All creature profiles would stay this way until you pressed the "Disable Light Mode" button.

Can you add and draw more features, possibly these:

Search Customization (exact search, users, creatures)

Like button on forum and blog comments and posts

instead of the little dropdown at the top, a little bell, mail, friend, and preferences icon at the top that get red with a corresponding notification instead of the yellow alert thing?

The search customization is one thing I meant to add. As I was making the others, I was trying to remember my other ideas, but ended up drawing blanks. That was one for sure though!

Your last idea was there for a while, right? It ended up being changed for a reason though. So I'm probably not going to make that one.

@o_o it was a thing for the first few months of Beta V3. But it was changed to the thing we have now. I have added some details that i feel would be better...

I just find it really hard to find older conversations when I was the last person to reply currently. I'll remember who the conversation was with, but not the title. Or I'll end up just doing a basic title like "Trades" or something that I have a lot of already.

Also, there might be a little trickery to make those messages. 😉
But I mean, you can always start the randomness!

@brad - These are all pretty neat. I think the 'Light Mode' for profiles would be especially useful (because mass feeding creates oh-so-fun loading speeds). I don't really care for the Livepulse one though, but that's probably because I've never paid attention to that in the first place (whoops).

you're making me feel bad for the user style on posts one - i know i don't put my post in impossible to read colours BUT STILL probably someone hates me for this

@sparklefox Glad to hear an opinion on the Light Mode. I wasn't too sure about how that would go over. It's more of a proof of concept than anything, but I'm glad you think it would be useful! 😊

All I use is the Livepulse. 😱 I rarely ever actually go into the individual forums.

I just don't like the way posts stick out when people style the whole thing. :/ Yes, I can read yours fine, but some others not so much. It's one thing if you're styling a few things to add emphasis, or make something stand out for an important post. But there's no reason to style an entire normal post. :/
But hey! If it did become a feature the people that don't like it, like me, could disable it while you and everyone else that don't mind could still see it! It's a win-win, haha.

It seems user customization takes a backseat in a lot of modern web design leaving the end user very confined and trapped in preset choices and modalities that just get tiresome and annoying... it completely hinders player personality ... I don't have the issue with "style posting" that you do ... but am on board with the sentiment to have more personalized options .. but a drab one-size-should-fit-all is the standard today it seems.

@veritaspunk Fair enough, I can respect that.
Maybe one thing that would be better is to go the neopets route.
I was just thinking about it, and I never had a problem when I played there. And everyone had a different style.
Maybe that's what makes it different.
Right now, everyone has the default. That's what you expect to see when looking at a post. So when someone does stylize their post, it sticks out. Very few people do it, so you're not expecting it. That's the opposite of neopets where everyone does it, so you expect it and no stands out because everyone has something different.

Does that make sense?

Yeah, ... I'd like a more comprehensive customization update though that isn't just forums, but profile and all across the site.
