Do you support Eggcave having a pet battle system?

As much as most Eggcave creatures are relatively peaceful..I believe it would eggcellent to have a pet battle system based partially on random rolls instead of being purely stat or equip item oriented.
1.You'd have pet types or affinities (I.e Dragons, Beasts, Astral/Spirit, Mechs etc.)
You could say Aerial/Bird types are usually superior in speed stat.
Dragons say in HP, Beasts in Atk, Elementals/Mechs in Def. Or whatever.
2. Pet battle stats are unique and not related to current pet feed/view/level stats so everyone starts out fresh.
3. Each pet species has a unique skill set it can develop via training and winning/losing battles, or rare magic books or whatever.
4. Our food items allow for recover of HP out of battle and have a rare chance at boosting one or two pet battle stats.
5. A gym, training arena, armory are added to the site. Training area can be utilized once per day to boot a pets stat of choice. Otherwise battles boost stats with the winner receiving a certain stat boost and the defeated having a 50% chance at boosting a stat. Oh, maybe some books also improve certain stats.
6. An optional thing- Travel backgrounds adding a field/environment effect to the match. (Underwater travels/zones improve aquatic pet speed movement during match.)
7. All this would also improve potential pet page views/feeds for people curious about their friends/strangers battle statistics.
8. Leaderboard for best types/species/all over/team battles.
9. Maybe you could tag team a match with friends.

Now as much as it screams pokemon, the thing is pet battle games have always been around and still are. Does not matter if it is World of Warcraft, Digimon, Monster rancher, Neopets, etc. The concept is fun and I think it would expand the site and perhaps bring more new players to the community in addition to allowing food items/books to serve more of a purpose and interest.

I would love some feedback on improving my rough draft.

@discordia cool, like the idea but I think Egg Cave is more of a, um, trading-talking-auction-still kind of game. IDK how to really explain it but I think you get the point. But again, its a great idea 😉

My main motivation is to find a way to intergrate an activity of further immersion and interaction with our pets. The battle component is not meant to overshadow or even replace present activities. It is meant only as an augmentation. Enhancing the diversity of eggcave experience. Alternatively I'm a little trained in c-programming, do some fantastic art, can probably lead to impliment 3D models, and trained in IT.
If at the very least this following suggestion as an alternative would be cool..
A 3D or even 2D eggcave game/chatroom with our pets allowing us to sign on as that particular pet and interact with each other. This may or may not include battling.

@discordia
We actually already have a battle system, it was part of the Mysterious Asteroid plot last year. Once the plot was finished it wasn't possible to battle anymore but it is something that could be brought back in the future for other plots or quests.

@wigglytuff
It was a while ago, lets see how much I remember.
-Every creature had a type based on their habitat, with these types being weak, strong, or neutral against the others.
-You started out at level 1 and gained XP as you battled.
-You started out just being able to attack or defend. As you leveled you could unlock one or two other abilities, like a stronger attack or healing.
-Every battle took away an exhaustion point from your creature, once those points hit 0 you couldn't battle with that creature anymore.
-You could rest your creatures and get them battle ready again at Ark City's hospital.
-At the time battling was available you could fight various Pareteorsite's in the tunnels beneath the volcano, with the final boss being a group battle against the Pareteorsite Queen.

There are probably a few things that I'm forgetting, but that was the gist of it.
