Star potions?

So I found a star creature in the cave this morning (woo!!) And when I looked at it, it said a star potion had been used on it -- I kind of assumed the naturally occurring star creatures wouldn't display this, as a way of telling if a star creature is "naturally" starred or not, but I guess that comes up regardless?? Or is there another way to discern them, if at all?

First off... Congrats on getting a starred creature! 😊 (That random surprise is fun.)

So far I've seen no way to discern a naturally occurring star creature from one whose star was bought for it. I've seen no difference between mine and ones where people celebrated finally getting enough CC to buy it.

There's no way to really differentiate them, but most people wouldn't star a creature that you can find in the cave unless they had some sort of sentimental value to it.
