509/500 characters?

so, I was starting to edit my mo's profile text but before I clicked inside the box, it says there were 509/500 characters and it wasnt red like it usually was: http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/3941/509chars.jpg

but then, when I clicked inside the box, there were 495/500 characters.

oh, and Im using chrome for pc

this is new functionality in version 2. you can see how many characters you've entered into the text box, but it will NOT cut your text off if you go over the character limit.

this is so you know how many characters you need to get rid of. not a bug.
