Hi-res creature art?

hey all! if i'm in the wrong place here, please feel free to correct me, but i was wondering if there's any incentive to share full, high-resolution art of the various species on eggcave somewhere. i'm trying to draw one, and not having access to a full-size image anywhere (outside of the original concept drawings by the creator) is a bit disheartening.

i understand we probably wouldn't be able to view our OWN creatures at a higher resolution thanks to the size of travel backgrounds, but maybe an option in the archives to view larger images would be nice. thoughts?

Unfortunately, the high-resolution images of the creatures are not available to players. I believe this website could make a lot of money if they ever released them for sale, however, the issue with that is that after purchase, someone could send the image to others for free. Hmm, maybe just release them for free, then? ;P

I am positive all creatures and travels are drawn at much larger sizes prior to being scaled down to fit the miniature 90x90 size on here. You can see a somewhat larger size when you complete a stargazing constellation. What a tease lol. I'm not sure why they don't just place these larger versions on a pet's specific page and have the tiny version as the cove thumbnails. I suppose it saves more space to just have the same image for the creature in both areas.

it's a shame that they aren't available... i'd love to see more of the details of the creature designs! the small size means i can only really see so much. the larger images used for the stargazing minigame is actually part of the reason i thought of posting this haha

maybe they could be released with a watermark over them or something? just so people can't steal them or pretend to own creatures they don't actually have

along the same lines, there's a travel (The Love Bees) I really wanted to use as the wallpaper on one of my tablets. I'd love if they offered some of the travels as wallpaper/screensaver editions! (Granted that would probably require artists making alternate versions given the shape.) But I totally would have been willing to throw a little CC their way for a downloadable higher res version!

But some of the creatures here are so detailed, it's a shame it's lost to their tiny size. Can't fully appreciate the time and effort the artists put into them.

I wouldn't want large images appearing while feeding, but I think it would be really cool if we could access them in the archive. (like having to open the species profile, and once on its page the image there is linked to a larger image. : D ) (yes, pretty much what you said... but in my own words. I was just going with flow of thought even before reading your whole post... because I got excited : p )
