How Do You Find Quest Items?

Hi there, new player here! Just started a quest and wondering how you find quest items or items in general. I checked the guide/faq but unfortunately could not find an answer for that beyond shopping, but I may have missed something!

Scroll a bit down and you'll see that you can buy quest items from NPC shops, such as The Bakery and General Foods (listed in the Shop tab that you can find at the top of every page), or sold by other players in User Shops (also listed in the Shop tab).

Other players can also send you an item if you can't find it or it's too expensive in the shops. Just post the item you're looking for in the Quest Items Swapping Thread.
