[Cavegg Update] Favorite Creature Picker

Hello everyone! I'm back with a fun new cavegg update. I've refashioned a favorite pokemon picker to display all eggcave creatures and stages so that someone with too much time can decide what their favorite stage/ species is! visit the fave-picker here:

As of 4APR2026, there are a total of 4685 creature stages for 1226 species. No promises on regularly updating the creatures since for the life of me I can't figure out how to pull the creature links directly from my database. oh well!

How do I share the found favorite list? - Unfortunately I couldn't find a way to allow users to share their lists using links. I'm planning on porting over the site to neocities or something so that I'm more free to mess with files and allow for shortcode sharing. In the meantime, you may just have to take a screenshot and upload it separately...

I spent way too much time playing with the picker when I was supposed to be taking care of tasks >.<

Soooooo exciting that someone might finally going to be making a fanpage on Neocities! (Other than "click my creatures".) That site is so fun to browse and discover new stuff. And it will always hold a special place for me as how I even disvovered Eggcave. So for me, it'll be coming full circle : )

and yes - currently i'm busy working on other stuff but during the summer i'll be able to focus more on webdev 😊 currently deciding between nekoweb or neocities, and then i'll port over my existing pages and embeds!

Tis definately a fun feature!
(Almost wish we had a game like that on Eggcave official, similar to the Wall of sandy lizards. Pick a creature, but in this version, it raises the odds when people pick their favorites. So like a combo with Lottery tickets.)

Well, real life comes first. (And it's good to stay focused. I have a bad habit of having too many things going at once and finishing none of them >.<)

Ooh, new site! (just went down a rabbit hole reading opinions comparing Neo and Neko. Lots of good info out there, and so much to consider. I wish you luck in deciding!)
