The letter of the law: Each person may visit and complete daily activities from their main account only.
The spirit of the law: Side accounts should be used for exactly that: side storage.

Feels self explanatory but there are a few specific circumstances that seem to violate one but not the other and aren't specified in any official sources I could find. I'm just going to give a list of circumstances and hopefully someone can tell me where the line is regarding some of these. I am on my computer most when I'm dealing with med side effects that make me either forgetful or alter my judgement so before I allow myself to get too comfortable and do something stupid: Which of these are strictly not allowed, and which are dubious but fine as long as I'm not doing it consistently or intentionally trying to exploit the system?

Relationship between EC/feeding and sides
In a different pet game "side accounts are for storage" means side accounts can't earn currency at all. All the feeding/operations money needs to be transferred over from your main account. I've also seen "your side must earn its own money" as well as "your side can earn it owns money and accept money/items from your main, but your main can't accept money/items from your side"
-Daily sign in reward is a daily (illegal!) that grants automatically and there is now way to avoid it.
-Can I feed my sides cove on my side?
-Can I feed my sides cove from my main, and then feed it from my side?
-Can I feed my main cove from my side?
-Can I feed random coves to earn money on sides?
-If I feed random coves on a side and accidentally feed them again on my main?

Random afterthoughts edited in later:
-Using the click exchange on a side seems like extra slots on a mechanic with a hard capped slot limit. But a different topic in Help & Questions asks about it and it seems it's fine? Just wanted to confirm this.

@noodlebrick the activities that should only be completed from your main account are those activities that benefit you by earning exclusive items/creatures. So, participating in different events (like Dragold's Den for example) from your side accounts is not allowed because you can win exclusive creatures and items and if everyone would participate in those type of events everyone would be full of those rare creatures/items. Visiting the cove from a side is also forbidden because it gives you an advantage (you can get more monthlies, you can sell them after, earn more money than the users who do not have sides, etc).
When it comes of the daily EC that you get as a sign in reward, it is nothing compared to the benefits you can have by doing the things I mentioned above. Also, feel free to feed any creatures from your side and your main too, you can even feed while not being logged in. If it wasn't allowed to feed from sides I am certain the site staff would do something about it (like hiding the feed button for side accounts or for people that aren't logged in). This is allowed because, in my opinion, feeding a creature multiple times does not give you any kind of privilege that other users might not have (because they also can do it). You already have obtained that creature, if it evolves or not is just a matter of time. If you can post your creatures on different websites to gain views/clicks/feeds (Egg Cave even has a guide for it!) I don't see any problem with feeding your creatures multiple times from your sides.

Edit: And about the click exchange, I always see creatures from sides there, because the same principle applies: you only get stats for your critters to evolve, it's not like you get anything special that other users don't have access to

@gngdia Alright so if I'm getting this right... Basically the rules are primarily there to prevent more serious exploits around rare item/egg generation and the stats / EC gained from feeding/logging in on sides is proportionally small enough to not be worth wasting the time of the moderation team? That makes sense, thank you!

I hadn't considered the extent to which linking eggs off site basically destroys any semblance of progression balancing due to internet visibility not being at all balanced. Something else that only just now occurred to me was that I can keep going through cove lists indefinitely and using that EC to buy items to raise stats manually as well. So even on-site the soft cap of +1/+1/+1 per creature per day per player is flexible.

@noodlebrick yes you got it right 😊 yup, some people can get more stats if they have more visibility on the internet, but I think that doesn't matter that much because while some post their eggs off-site, many who do not feed from their sides, or maybe are more active in the Click Exchange, so it's like a balance, if that makes sense

Just want to make a small correction in case a new player reads it, don't want them getting confused. (A long-time player can read it and know it was a slip.)

Where gngdia said "Visiting the cove from a side is also forbidden because it gives you an advantage..."

a cove is our collection of creatures.
The Cave is where you go to try to snag creatures.

so it is The Cave that is expressely forbidden from visiting from your side accounts.

Wonderful post otherwise though!

All I can add is that Ian has weighed in in the past couple years saying that sides *are* just for storing creatures... but I also haven't seen a crackdown on feeding from them either. (I'm assuming since the mechanics don't really give any unfair advantages.)
(Unlike where he's pleaded with the community on a few occassions to stop using auto-feed scripts, an example of something that *is* expressely forbidden and does clearly give an unfair advantage & causes an undue burden to the site.)

(Sorry I don't have links to either. They were big announcements, Just a comment here or there on a blog post or in a forum thread.)
Edit: I was able to find a post on the counter example, but not the main subject : /

thanks for the correction @snowywinter, I wanted to say "cave" and ended up writting "cove" by mistake 😃

lol. Easy mistake @gngdia. I've done it so many times myself.

You're welcome, and thank you for making such an easy to understand post.
As long as I've been here, just in the past few days I actually started pondering the technicalities regarding side accounts. (As over time we get used to seeing how things are done as a community, and it's easy to forget what the technical rules are. In general, on any site. Heck, even iRL.)
