Signatures

Edit: There would be a restriction on how many images you could have in a post/signature, how big they are and also no flash images. (Dont want people to get seizures)

So many sites I have been on have signatures at the bottom of peoples posts that they can edit themselves that contain, images or pets from other websites and I was thinking that maybe eggcave could do this too? It would be a great way to express ourselves and it hasn't been a problem for other sites. @ian

Oh and maybe we can be able to use image codes like, [img]URL[/img] and the image would show up and also [imgright]URL[/imgright] and the picture would stay at the right side and everything else would go next to it on the left. As well as [imgleft], etc. Basically you can post pictures in your signatures or in posts.

but then shouldn't we have restrictions (if it's an image) on how big it is? cos I don't wanna see flashing pictures every ten seconds that take up most of the page ;(

I dunno, it get to a point where your signature says something about your status, like if its not pretty enough bla bla... like on neo, and other sites they list eggs for feeding and just lots of junk and it hard to see where they are actually typing. :?/

On mangafox, the discussion threads , they have people with humongous flashing pictures so it's annoiying to read stuff O_O

I support with restrictions.

Like, if a picture is over a certain size [Say, 500X300] It won't be allowed. That way they don't get too big.



Also, a signature could be an incentive.

Like, at 10 posts, they get a word signature
20, a signature with color
30, a signature with a link
Etc etc


Also, I think flashing pictures shouldn't be allowed period. They can induce seizures. So, I think someone gets a warning and their signature removed [Like, just empty, can be re-edited].

Because I don't wanna think that someone had a seizure just caused I wanted a pretty picture.

Personally I find the majority of siggys annoying. D:
It's hard to keep the train of thought that's being said in the thread when you keep coming across a random pic/phrase at the end every post.

It's kind of distracting, if you know what I mean...
