"Well, Hephaestus did say 'You all will have to do,' and Taryn can't be 'you all' since 'You All' is a reference to multiple people, so we can all logically assume that Hephaestus referenced us to go on the Quest as well."

Katryna said simply, walking towards the door to exit the forgery.

"Uh, okay. I pick you all to go with me."

Taryn said, not really remembering how the choosing of Quest associates was done. She had been on a few Quests in her time, but never led one.

Taryn hadn't really liked taking part in this conversation for the most part at this point, but she remembered seeing Jasper uncomfortable at the mention of the winged horses.

"We could always travel using the pegasus."

"Okay!"

Aria left the foregery and ran towards the stables.

At last, she was going on a quest! Aria had never been choosen to participate in a quest before and was looking forward to this one.

The demigod stepped into the stables and greeted the pegasi. She didn't have her own pegasi unlike the other campers but was content with borrowing someone else's.

"Hey everyone," she murmered quitely as she walked passed the pegasi. "Some of you are going to on a quest."

A black pegasus snorted and ruflled his wings.

"Hephaestus ordered some campers to go to Washington DC on a quest. You'll probably be taking us there."

The pegasus tossed his head away from Aria and trotted to the back of his compartment.

"Good luck."

Aria left the stables to gather her weapons. She had a feeling that she'll have to use them a lot more than she have been these past few weeks.

"A child of Hades afraid of death? Wonderful. Why don't we just do what that girl said and half of us shadow-travel and half ride on pegasi? You won't kill someone by taking them shadow-traveling, and the pegasi are quick. It won't take long. Katryna and I are taking our pegasi."

Taryn said, her tone sharp. She raised her eyes at the Hades boy, surprised at his uneasiness of death. She began walking to the stables, followed by her sister. A deep black pegasi that was about 13 or 14 hands high greeted her with a warm neigh. She had white socks that stopped just below her knee, and a black main and tail. Her name was Sox.

Katryna skipped to the stables, looking for her Pegasus, Vanilla. She found her in the last stall on the left. Nillie (She called her Pegasus Nillie) was already begging for a treat, lifting her right leg. Katryna laughed and gave her a fistful of grass which Nillie licked up happily.

Nillie stretched her creamy, off-white wings out. She was about the same height as Sox, but had different coloration. She had an off-white mane and tail that matched her wings, as well as short sox the same color on every leg. She had a vanilla muzzle as well.

Jasper glanced at them nervously. This wasn't going to be a good start. The dogs are usually vicious. Jasper still didn't master shadow traveling, he was supposed to know but still...

Taryn leaped up on Sox, quite comfortable, seated right behind the horse's wither. Some campers found it uncomfortable to ride pegasi bareback. They also found it dangerous, but Taryn liked it that way. Sox trotted out of the barn happily, quite content to be out and about. She bent down to eat a patch of tender grass coated in a thin layer of dew.

Aria packed her weapons, a bow and a quiver of arrows and ran outside to see what the other campers were up to. She wore her hair up as a ponytail, it as much easier to fight that way.

That was when she noticed a lone camper riding their pegasus out of the stables. They were riding bareback, which Aria thought was odd, and was completely comfortable.

"Hi there!" Aria greeted as she walked up to the pair. "Your pegasus looks pretty."

Taryn lifted Sox's head up. She saw a girl, from Apollo presumably, with a quiver of arrows slung around behind her back. Her sleek hair was tied up in a ponytail that caught the few lonesome but determined rays of sunlight that peeked out from its shroud of clouds. Taryn wished her hair could do that. Her hair was thick and unmanageable, which led to teasing from Aphrodite children, but Taryn didn't really mind. Who would win in a fight- the supermodel or the weapon-maker?

"Hello. Aren't you going on the Quest with me?"

Taryn asked the girl, hoping to a certain extent that she would say yes. She seemed like a fighter kind of girl that wasn't afraid to throw a punch, or sling an arrow, when she needed to.

After quickly tacking up Vanilla, Katryna trotted out of the stable, following Sox and Taryn. She saw a girl she recognized from the Apollo cabin. She struggled to remember her name... Aria, maybe?

"Shadow-traveling is supposed to be your specialty, or your so called 'gift'. The only thing it's proven to do for now is make you nervous. I'm a Hephaestus child, and I am skilled with metal works. So suck it up and shadow-travel or leave this Quest in general, pretty boy."

Taryn said sharply. In this situation, she usually wouldn't have said anything in the first place, but this was HER Quest. It had to be perfect. It was coming from her father, and she had to impress him. She had to gain his respect.
