Wait, you guys said I'm too powerful because Ethana's weapons were made by Hephaestus? I said that they were asked for by Demeter, her mother. How is that too powerful if her mother gifts them to her? 😱

@bubble_tree I don't think that hephastus has any relationship with demeter. It was a favor. And you somehow knew that Tyra was the person who did it. And somehow you can summon dryads and strangle someone while you're burning, apparently.

Ugh, no. Wait, Demeter kids can control all flora. I meant that Ethana could strangle a person with the flora around her. That's part of her powers, to control plants. Tyra, I never mentioned her. I forgot who she was. When I summoned a dryad I don't mean literally mean summon. More like asking for them to come out. And yes, it was a favor that Demeter did for her daughter. I meant all that in a different way.

Taryn was working on a project, a simple celestial bronze sword. Campers liked her work, after twelve years you get pretty exceptional at something. And, there's always natural talent, thanks to Hephaestus.

Taryn sighed, almost wistfully. She missed the days when it was celestial bronze swords that incorporated some kind of symbolism, some sort of meaning in the blade or the hilt of the weapon. Now, the campers just wanted something that could kill. Double-edged blades, celestial bronze and half steel. They wanted to hurt humans. What happened to the save-the-humans thing?

There was a loud clang in the empty forgery as a bruised, battered and handicapped man with short, black stubble with hints of grey forming on his chin. Could it be?

"Father?"

Taryn was a bit in awe. Of course, if this had happened thirteen years ago, when she didn't know, she might've hidden behind her mother's floral skirt, shielding herself from the surprisingly soft eyes of the disheveled man. But now, today, she knew, she just KNEW, that this was her father. She wanted to embrace him at first, to say hello, to have her own special cliche moment from the cinemas, but that would never happen. Taryn had practiced hiding her emotions, and that is exactly what she did. Behind a rigid mask of hatred was a broken heart full of anguish. Hephaestus himself seemed a bit intimidated almost, afraid of saying the wrong thing to his daughter. The moment really couldn't have gotten akwarder, and she was glad when she saw Katryna and some Hades kid walk in.

"Taryn! I just wanted to- Hephaestus?"

Katryna said incredulously, spinning on her heel to see Hephaestus, the God of forgery and metal works. She had only seen one God up close and in person before, and that was Apollo from when she was seven. She had almost died, and Apollo had saved her, healing her grotesque wounds with a song.

Aria slung her quiver of arrows onto her back and walked to the forgery.
She wasn't skilled at blacksmith but could do with some more arrows.

Aria opened the door of the forgery and had to stifle a gasp.
She didn't expect anyone to be there, let alone a god.
She wasn't sure whether to kneel down of to just greet Hephaestus casually.
Going for the safe option, she kneel down on one knee and looked at the floor.

Hephaestus seemed to have something on his mind, but refrained from saying it. It was like he was trying to put it into words without being any more akward.

"Just spit it out,"

Taryn hissed, her dark brown eyes trained on her abeyant father. He seemed a bit startled by her words but regained his composure quickly. He was adept at masking his emotions as well.

"I have lost something. I need you to retrieve it for me. It's a golden suit of armor. I have asked you to retrieve it because I believe it to be in the hands of humans. The armor wields great power and was intended for Ares himself."

Hephaestus said, and paused a moment.

"I suppose you all will do. This will be a Quest for you all, and you can start in Washington DC, where I believe it to be. Perhaps start with museums."

Hephaestus said, considering his options for a moment before vanishing.

At the sound of voices, Aria stood up and hissed the word, "Awkward!" to herself. She looked from Hephaestus to the Hephaestus girl to the Hades boy.
So, it looks like someone's going on a quest, she mused.

There was a tense silence throughout the forgery. Katryna hated silence, it gave her headaches.

"Okay everyone- to DC!"

Katryna declared, trying to bring some sort of humor into the room, or at least break the silence that stood as a barrier between them.

"I don't know, maybe? I don't think is an actual Quest, it's probably more like a favor."

Taryn said to the Apollo girl, and then she turned to the Hades boy.

"DC isn't that far away. East Coast."
