Kit looked at Aron in horror. "Umm... would you ever umm... drain like... a bird or something?" She asked, clearly very frightened.
Underneath her travelling cloak, she stroked her long tawny wings that were dark brown down at the top, which faded to baby deer brown feathers with white tips. She pulled her wings even tighter to her back.

It worked. Kit covered her ears, the music ringing in her head. "Okay look, I CAN read minds, and even before I came I knew EVERYONE has powers. It's obvious. Don't lie to me, just say you don't want to tell me then. It's not like I'm gonna burst out in sad horrible tears or whatever."

Aron walked away, back to the garden. He found the corpse of the fox. "It must be possible to give him his life back." Aron kept trying it. It took him hours to do it. Then he returned to the villa while carrying the poor fox with him.
