lucie • 13 November 2011 at 4:58 PM
@redstar-fireclan *sips black coffee* x'Dthis is fascinating I love stuff like this, btw it'ssemi-off topic but still to do with space/planets,does the planet "Nibiru" exist, or is that just a false thing?? 'cause supposedly it was suppose to be here roughly 2006 and it didn't show so they moved it's arival date to 2012, ad it's suppose to inhabit aliens xD [alien obsessed they're soo fascinating]
redstar-fireclan • 13 November 2011 at 5:00 PM
@lucieI belive (Not all ppl belive this)That it's not real, because..."Aliens aren't real!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*In Caps*"~Me while watching Mars need moms/ Tom and Jerry~Blast off to MarsxDRedstar*Planet Studier*

@redstar-fireclan why on EARTH the meteor is going to hit the Earth on April? My birthday month q_q That's so sad D: *cries on the corner*
briseis • 15 November 2011 at 9:42 PM
The meteor is 200,000 miles away from Earth, about the same distance as the Moon is from us. There is no possible way it will hit us.
redstar-fireclan • 17 December 2011 at 5:28 PM
@unknowlight"@redstar-fireclan why on EARTH the meteor is going to hit the Earth on April? My birthday month q_q That's so sad D: *cries on the corner*" That is what you had said. The Meteor may not come. It is what NASA is saiding. AND I SWEAR IF THEY SAY IT WILL HIT IN MARCH I. AM. GOING. TO. KILL. THEM.Anyway, I still belive the meteor isn't coming.Redstar.@briseisThat is true, but what is OUR gavity captures it? Hmm? *Yes, I am a show off xD)Redstar
candy_girl_1298 • 17 December 2011 at 5:39 PM
@luciei dont know where you heard this or when, but there is no meteor aiming for earth right now. its proven.what news site do you watch? XD
icymuffin • 17 December 2011 at 5:41 PM
Um, there is no meteor aiming at us anymore... it got destroyed on it's way here somehow, I heard :]This thread is from a while back already ;p
cqpkytty • 17 December 2011 at 6:38 PM
Actually, I Googled "Apophis meteorite" and it turns out there is about a 1 in 250,000 chance of it hitting the Earth. And *if* it does, there's an exact date: April 13th, 2036.
zafeyry • 17 December 2011 at 9:21 PM
I don't believe this new-fangled meteoroid outer space nonsense.
cqpkytty • 17 December 2011 at 9:40 PM
@redstar-fireclanWhat exactly makes you believe that it is impossible that other planets could have life-forms?I, myself, don't think it makes much sense that they would be so much more advanced than us. I mean, they could still be tiny one-celled organisms floating around in the water! (or other life-giving liquid found on that planet)Also, if our gravity captured the meteor, we would have another moon 😋
rawrcookies08 • 17 December 2011 at 9:47 PM
@plushie @lucy it's not going to wipe out half the population, that's not true.
lunar • 17 December 2011 at 10:11 PM
Living in New York, havent heard of this meteor till today XD
candy_girl_1298 • 17 December 2011 at 10:52 PM
@lunar thats because there is no meteor :/
briseis • 17 December 2011 at 11:31 PM
@redstar-fireclan the Earth's gravity would not pull in a meteor. This meteor is only a few yards across; if it is the same distance from us as the moon is, then from your logic, not only would the meteor be drawn into the Earth's axis but so would the moon. The moon is many billions of tons heavier than this meteor; it would be easier to pull it into the Earth if our gravity were that powerful.
sakura2596 • 17 December 2011 at 11:36 PM
omg i live in the USA but im still scared,i hope it doesnt hit romania, half my familys there! ☹️
redstar-fireclan • 18 December 2011 at 10:37 AM
@cqpkyttyI don't belive there's lifeforms becauseA. Jupiter and the Gas gaints don't have a atmoshere.B. Mars has water; but why does NASA think there's bacteria on there O.o I mean, really?!@briseisTrue...
briseis • 18 December 2011 at 11:07 AM
@redstar-fireclan the universe is infinitely expanding. Thus, the environment necessary for life may not have been created yet (in another part of the universe, of course), or it simply may be too far away for us to look upon. The universe is expanding twice as fast during any given day as it did the day before?therefore, it is impossible for scientists to know where in the universe other life forms may exist, if the distance between our own planet and a planet with suitable living conditions is getting farther and farther apart each day.
redstar-fireclan • 18 December 2011 at 11:08 AM
@briseisHm...That is also true...
briseis • 18 December 2011 at 11:14 AM
I don't really know why, but everyone panicking about this meteor is really getting on my nerves. The meteor is too small to be drawn into the Earth's atmosphere. By the time it reaches the moon, it will be much too small to survive our fiery atmosphere, if it did, by some stroke of luck, actually pass through it. As I have said before, it is the same distance from our planet as the moon is, and the moon weighs billions of tons heavier than the meteor. If our atmosphere was really strong enough to pull in the meteor, it would also pull in the moon---and anything and everything that passes anywhere close to our atmosphere. In truth, our atmosphere would be almost like a black hole, which, if anyone knows anything about astronomy, is impossible given the conditions of our galaxy. Most of the articles people read online are horribly misleading. Most people read one article and believe it without doing any other type of research on the matter. That is why I hate internet news; it's never the whole truth, as it should be.
redstar-fireclan • 18 December 2011 at 11:17 AM
Yes, I agree...Hmm...Black Holes...Black Holes...Oh, those! ❤️Lol,sorry..
zafeyry • 18 December 2011 at 11:18 AM
Anybody could've written that article. Don't believe it one bit.
leopardclaws • 18 December 2011 at 11:28 AM
Oh dear, I hope this doesn't happen, I don't know where it's hitting (hopefully not in the US 😊), but anywhere would be disastrous, apparently it's 900 feet long and it would be racing to earth at a bajillion mph. So the impact would probably kill over half the population.Let the Hunger Games begin!
