Fortunately the poison did not work on coconut trees, and the forest was full of coconut trees so it did not work on the coconut trees in the forest which the chemicals did not work in because it was full of coconut trees that did not die of the poison because the coconut trees in the forest weren't allergic.

unfortunately the soil was so bad that when the trees grew tall they weren't able to have a very large root system. (What with the freezing and the poisons used to try to kill the coconut trees) that the trees all started falling over once they reached a certain height. A lot of angry villagers died because of falling trees.
