I'd lost sight of her. Man, she moved fast.
I leaned up against a tree, catching my breath and reaching for my radio when I heard a noise.
And not just any noise....a deep, evil, sicking growl.
Very slowly, I turned to the source of the noise.
Ane realized a pair of glowing,blood-red eyes were glaring at me from the bushes.
The evil, haunting eyes belonged to a massive shadow-colored animal.
It looked like a cross between a German Shephard the size of a couch, a panther, and a bear.
Gagging, I realized it was probley a feral.
A feral was someone from either side who lost complete control over their power, and roamed the jungles and battle grounds randomly attacking and killing people on either sides.
Even worse, I realized this was an animal shapeshifter...........
And it was about to pounce on me....*

"Hate to break it to you, but gurrrrrrrrrrllll, YOU GOT STYLE." Ale complimented in her normal ghetto voice which she hasn't used recently.
Toralei gave a slight nod.
"News is, somebody has seen Jade the day of her supposed death. And has confirmed, she.has.died." Tori said, content because she didn't really care.
Ale, Alice, and Skylar stared at her, sad.
Mrs. Arce was the most fazed. "My baby. My precious girl." she sobbed. Then she whipped her head up. "Who confirmed it?" Mrs. Arce snarled.
Everyone seemed taken back. Mrs. Arce has never been so mean.
"Well? SHOW ME." Mrs. Arce snapped.
Tori quickly led the whole group to a hut. "In." a voice said from inside.
"This is Gabriellia. She can hear and see everything from a distance. We house the gifted ones." Tori said.
Gabriella looked around like she was about her early 40's.
Mrs. Arce proceeded angerly and grabbed Gabriella's shoulders. She was about to speak when Toralei screamed,"NOOOOOO!"


Because what happened next would never have been expected.

* I closed my eyes,accepting my fate, to scared to even summon up my power.
Then, a scream full of pure sorrow and terror split the cold air.
The beast took it's huge, blood-red eyes off of me, and turned it's back to me, and sprinted off though the jungle.
Katherine.
She was in trouble.
I rushed towards the sound of the scream.
************
I panted, trying to find Katherine.
Finally, I heard a roar, and I sprinted towards a clearing, just in time to see the beast pounce on Katherine, who's hair was glowing flame red.
Wait, what?
I had not enough time to even think, for an explosion came right after, and huge whirlpool of fire, almost threating to burn off my face.
I screamed, and jumped backwards, slamming my face into the dirt.
A few moments later..... silence.
I picked myself up, and looked into the clearing once again.
I saw the body of a boy, horribly burnt.... I gagged. The feral. It was tough to look at, so I didn't.
Katherine was laying face down on the dirt, a small pool of blood slowly forming around her. She was untouched by her own flames.
I dragged her out of the clearing.
"Come on Katherine, you can make it." I said desprately. *

@Trish Positive 😋 Randomkitty's only guy is Catcher, so you know how good she is at portraying male charries, Mike isn't half as amazingly REAL as Catcher, and you know if Mike was Randomkitty's he'd be so much more believeable 😊

* "Sunny...." Katherine finally groaned.
I continued to drag her. "Okay, we have to get out of here." I urged her on. I noticed she had a long cut on her neck, but it was livable.
"Sunny, no.... i'm not going to make it.... blood, so much blood.... dead, dead."
I had no idea what she was talking about, for her cut wasn't deep at all, and was only pouring a very small amount of blood, if anything. Even if, she wouldn't be able to see it, it's on her neck.
"Don't talk like that Katherine, you'll make it." I said again.
"He's dead. DEAD. Blood, on the grass.... Mac's DEAD." she said sorrowfully, sobbing.
I stopped dragging her. I realized that was why she screamed in the first place.
"But YOU won't die, i'll make sure of that." I said, determined.
"No, I....I....." she uncurled her hand, that was in a tight fist so I could see an object she was holding.
My bottle of pain relief meds.
I didn't have to be psychic to know that it was almost empty.
I gave Katherine a look of pure horror and sorrow, and she just chuckled.
"Sorry I took so many, but you'll be alright without them for awhile, right?" she said, laughing softly. *

*"Why?!?" I croaked softly.
"Sunny..... i've finally lost everything... my brother.....the person I loved...... even myself!!!" she cried out on the last part, and I gave her a questioning look.
"My power...... it took control after I saw Mac, and I had to over-power it..... i'm turning into a feral...... like the one that just killed Mac and Mipsy!!!!" she started to sob quietly again.
I tried my best to comfront her, as I didn't want her last moments to be her crying.
"Katherine....." I wanted to say something really profound and smart, but was dumbstruck.
"It was worth it in the end, right? Living. Life?" I asked her.
Katherine had a faint smile on her face. "Yeah, yeah it was." She smiled, and stopped sobbing.
"You know, you were one of Eddy's best friends....." She paused, and took a very deep, strained breath.
"Do you think Mac loved me back?" she asked me finally, smiling.
"He really did love you, Katherine." I replied, choking up.
"Good. It's always good to die knowing you've been loved......" Katherine smiled and closed her eyes.
For the last time.
And I stayed there, just for hours, sitting by her side, watching her stomach lift up and down, growing slower and slower as the meds took their effect... intill...... nothing.
I sat there, just like a statue. Tears silently ran down my face.
Why? Why must this happen? Why.....
After a few hours, I slowly stood up, and made my way back to the camp.....
Alone. *

~~A days walk later~~
*"So you're saying that this ONE feral took down your whole group?" the captain questioned me.
"That's right." I said tightly, expressing no emotion, or atleast trying not to.
I'd showed up back at base and went to a captain right away with the report about what happened, only leaving out a few parts.
And he was eyeing me.... like I was lying.
I HATED that.
Sure, they were used to people leaving and never returning, but only one person coming back?
Only reported a handful of times.
The fact that a feral wasn't seen around that area by anyone else didn't help my story either.
"So-"
"If you want to see how truthful I am, why don't you go out there and recover their bodies yourself?!?" I spat, angered.
We had a stare down for a good five minutes.
Finally, I started to leave.
"Also, gaurd duty tonight, Sunny."
I froze in my tracks, trying not to let my fear show.
"Yes sir." I said almost quietly, and walked off. *

After a few minutes of waiting, Faith showed up to the edge of the forest, (Along with everyone else who wants their charries to go shopping XD )
Annabell then led everyone though the forest, and getting out on the other side was easy, since there were almost no guards.
"This is going to be fun!!!" Faith said happily, and pulled out a BUNCH of wallets.
"Uhh, Faith, where'd get those?" Annabell asked warily.
"Stole them from those scientists before that place exploded." Faith grinned happily, and shoved the wallets into her bag.
Annabell rolled her eyes, but kept walking towards the near-by town.

( I have to, I guess everyone can just walk around? XD )

Well, when Mrs. Arce grabbed Gabriella, Gabriella struck out powerfully, knocking Mrs. Arce to the wall.
Unconscious, and maybe dead. Because she wasn't moving, and the faint rising of her chest was peculiar.
Toralei and Justin hurried over to Mrs. Arce.

"You are NOT welcome here." Gabriella growled and behind her prowled two big cats.
But Alice's eyes were fixed on something else.
Gabriella's claws.
They looked long and very strong.
Alice's eyes flickered back to Mrs. Arce.
Too late. Tori and Justin gasped.
Everyone had seen the puncture of the long claws in Mrs. Arce's chest.
It was too late. But Mrs. Arce wasn't exactly dead yet.

*I could see that Mrs. Arce was dying.
God wow, I just stated the OBVIOUS.
Suddenly, Ale clenched her teeth.
Captain Obvious here could see that she was listening to something important. And I think only Ale could hear it, because Gabriella did not take action.

I hurried over to Mrs. Arce with Ale and Skylar.
Toralei and Justin took on defense. But they couldn't kill Gabriella, it was the law that kept the Empire strong. The gifted. Another thing struck me, but it was too late to come to thought when Mrs. Arce started speaking.
She somehow whipped a package out of her bag and pushed it to me. "Open it back at Superschool. And only Superschool." she urgently said, sweating, because I figured that the claws were poisonous.

And when I saw Mrs. Arce's face relax, it was shocking.
Because her last words were:
"Ah Jade. She's alive."
