I think some people overreact about kind users giving creatures to new people, yeah sure, I got an Olimpt when I first started, but I would have been perfectly happy with nothing, it's just that some people get a better start then others, you know what though? If nobody had given me these creatures that I treasure so much, I might not have seen how fun it is to collect, to build up your cove and be happy with what you have. I know that so many users have better stuff than I do, even though I've been here longer than they have. But I don't mind, you know?

@KaramelThe only gifts I was given as a newbie were some junk eggs and some kujaks.I was extremely lucky. I started on Christmas day. I got a Roo, Florn and Treelar. I love to trade and so from there I was able to build up my cove to it's awesomeness it is now. What I have I got through hard trading work and luck.

I personally gave @bettafish a good LE due to the fact that she was so harassed over the fact that people got mad when she got @deannablanco3's macbot. Deanna was a great person and wouldn't mind helping a newbie out if she could in fact she helped me too.I think people complaining about a newbie getting rare creatures is a useless endeavor. I'm happy with all the creatures I have and just remember folks we were all newbies too. Some of us started with nothing and got rares through trading or friends or just waiting for them to come out. Most of us built our coves slowly but surely some faster than others. For example Every new release that comes out monthly and cash shop too as soon as they're out I see people with half a dozen of them throwing them up on the trade center the virtual minute they're announced. Do I complain No.. I wait patiently.Just my two cents
karamel • 15 January 2012 at 11:53 AM
@tamerin33 I'm not complaining. I'm just saying that newbies are getting way too much nowadays.
pegasasu • 15 January 2012 at 11:53 AM
@karamelYou have no idea how much newbie gifts annoy me. I mean yeah, it's nice to give gifts as a welcome, but let's be honest with each other- MOST NEWBIES QUIT AFTER A WHILE. I know, some don't. I can't say that I got any newbie gifts, and it kind of frustrates me when they get Nyms and other CSPs for EXISTING. They can do what I did-1. Have no life except on the internet.2. Win contests.3. Trade.4. Hope you're lucky at the cave and MA.That's how I got my cove the way it is. /endrant

@karamelI got a Ulert, my second time as a newbie...*I had no idea whether it was rare or not, but I kept it anyway 😋*After I first started, I quit a few weeks in. It wasn't really official; I just stopped coming on. Then, about ten months after that, I came back on. I had forgotten basically everything about Egg Cave xP So I was like an old newbie 😋
karamel • 15 January 2012 at 12:05 PM
@pegasasu Agreed. We are the Newbie Gift Haters. NGH.We should make the initials UGH or URGH or something though. LOL!!@cqpkytty WAIT IS IT STILL ALIVE?!
pegasasu • 15 January 2012 at 12:08 PM
@karamelYes lol xD The... Underdog Gift Haters? 😋 xP@cqpkyttyThat's what I did, I joined then quit. When I joined as a newbie, I didn't post or anything (I didn't even know there was forums) so I thought EC was boring and left 😋 But now I'm back, in all awesomeness XD 😋
karamel • 15 January 2012 at 12:11 PM
@pegasasu Is Underdog a synonym for Newbie? Also, I just had a look at some other slightly older newbies, and one has 2 CSP creatures..____________________________.
pegasasu • 15 January 2012 at 12:13 PM
@karamelI actually don't know 😋 XDThat's crazy. GRRRRRRRR.
karamel • 15 January 2012 at 12:14 PM
IKR.I don't know what to say any more.
briseis • 15 January 2012 at 12:22 PM
Some new users may have CC, which is why they might have CS creatures early on. That was what it was like with me. I bought three September monthlies on my first day, and since then I haven't gotten a single egg from the cove, except Mos and the Kujaks, whom I really enjoyed. It all depends on the situation and what the newbie has to start off with.
crescentfeather • 15 January 2012 at 12:37 PM
I understand 😱But it's sorta unfair if us oldies hog all the rares XDI'd prefer it if these newbies stayed active and nice 😊 I've never bought a penny of CC 😱
cqpkytty • 15 January 2012 at 12:54 PM
@karamelThe Ulert?I eventually traded it. I'm not sure where it is anymore xP
phoenizis • 15 January 2012 at 1:00 PM
Newbies should be able to get gifts, as long as they return or gift them if they quit. When I came back, nobody gave me anything, and look at my cove now.
karamel • 15 January 2012 at 1:11 PM
@briseis I keep checking the "15 newest trades" and I see them. Occasionally.@crescentfeather That's true, but isn't it a little... UN-SAFE if you trade a rare creature to a newbie that probably doesn't understand how rare it is?@phoenizis That's when you came back, not joined.
smilies • 15 January 2012 at 1:20 PM
Meh, there was practically no such thing as newbie gifts when I joined 😋Yeah, I've never given one because I'm worried they'll quit and let it die, also, I've never got really close to anyone who's a newbie, for some reason 😋
karamel • 15 January 2012 at 1:23 PM
@smilies Well, even better, you don't have to worry about making sure the gift doesn't die. 😋
smilies • 15 January 2012 at 1:27 PM
@karamel Well, you could get given high level pets... But they weren't really rare...
karamel • 15 January 2012 at 1:32 PM
@smilies Then the newbie could trade it away. If it was a common. When s/he gets older (in EC).
evlynn • 15 January 2012 at 1:34 PM
@karamelI agree that they do seem to get rarer eggs than before but personally, I enjoy giving out random eggs that some of the newer users missed, even if they aren't going to be staying.
smilies • 15 January 2012 at 1:36 PM
@karamel Same rules apply, depending on the giver 😋
karamel • 15 January 2012 at 1:40 PM
@evlynn Aren't you worried about the newbie neglecting the rare? Or that they'd eventually trade it?
evlynn • 15 January 2012 at 1:42 PM
@karamelGenerally speaking if I choose to gift a creature, I get the impression they're a trustworthy person and once it belongs to them, I trust that the egg will still be taken care of, be it traded or whatnot.
karamel • 15 January 2012 at 1:45 PM
@evlynn How... RARE are the creatures? Are they like Nym-rare, or LE-rare, CSP-rare...?
evlynn • 15 January 2012 at 1:46 PM
@karamelThat really depends on what I have in my storage at that moment and how much I've spoken to the user.
faeolynrayne • 15 January 2012 at 3:53 PM
Well, I mean. Perhaps the new users just had good skills in making EC and trading EC for rarer creatures. That's how I received my five Eirieks (totally didn't spell that right, but whatever.), my Terron, my Garo, and my Kujaks. My first week I raised a ton of EC, and then offered it for all of those creatures.Of course, maybe those users were just being nice because I was a newbie. But still.

I Hope no oldies come shoot my featured creature o______O
Deleted • 15 January 2012 at 5:16 PM
Yeah, They do seem to somehow get rares early but that's okay because well it shows eggcave is a nice place to them. 😊 It took me ages *More then two months* to get my first rare because I joined after 2010 CRW. No events happened for ages and I wasn't a lucky adopter or trader *Still isn't* I joined at a horrible time xD It took me a year to get my first CC. 😋 I don't get gifted much at all even during the days I was crazy active.

@karamel I got a free tine o.o
