"You will be asleep during the process." the scientist said. "You wish to go first? Come on in."

Charlotte followed the scientist in, and the door closed behind them.

"Okay, I'm coming!" Casey shouted. She went with the scientist into a room. He instructed her to lie down.

Aliera followed the scientist. "What animal do each of you want to be?" (Aliera and Casey)
"We're both going to be cats!" Aliera said.
"Two? This is...extremely unconventional...but it doesn't seem like I'll be able to dissuade you, so two cats it is." He instructed them to lie down on a table.

The scientist prepared to give a shot to each of them. "Don't worry, this won't hurt you. It will just make you fall asleep, so you won't feel the pain."

The scientist gave them the shot. While they were just starting to feel the effects, he walked over to Charlotte, who was ready for the surgery.

Half an hour later, he opened the door and called for someone else.

The scientist nodded. "Lie down here," he instructed. "I'm going to inject you with a sedative now. Don't be alarmed - it will only make you fall asleep, so you won't feel the pain." He gave her the shot, then left to take care of Casey and Aliera.
